Bane is on Fire!
Yes, but where will we get the money from? I'm saving up to make the BRG, and no one else has volunteered any prizes.
Well, I have two letters from whatever month the staffs came from. I know everyone has some, so those might not be a good prize, but might they fetch a price decent enough to make with the prizing?

I won't be the one to sell them, though. I'm horrid at getting good prices for my merchandise, so someone else will have to volunteer for that one. xd

List about five things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other, then whoever can make the best story/poem/whatever with said objects being important to the plot line wins

I think Lady_brimstone had the best idea

How about listing certain topics that we have to write about?
Such as certain setting, item, smell or feel??
I'll donate some gold when the contest is up and running...

Hi, I'm cranky and I'm new to the guild! Yay!

Anyway, the five-unconnected-items thing is good. More fun than a character description, anyway (and I'm just saying that because I stink at description - I keep aiming for a rich tapestry of words and ending up with adjective soup). There are nine thousand ways to connect five unconnected things, and I'm sure everyone would have a great time thinking them up.

But that's not my favorite idea. This is my favorite idea:

The entry must include "Mr Snuggles ate the bonbons" whee

How about we all see if we can have a short and funny story/chapter/poem with an evil overlord that isn't cliche?

Oh, and it has to have an unexpected ending. XD

Demo. Maybe a writing contest that incorporates most of the ideas.

My Big Huge Contest Idea!

I know. It's cheesy. So Sue me.(God I love puns!)

Anyway. getting on with this. Let's see. We have "Most creative situation in an unknown 'universe'", "Inserting a character into an 'inverse'(someone elses setting/situation)", "A catchy phrase randomly inserted casually into the piece of poetry or prose", "Angst ridden writing", various ideas for a "Sue" style contest,"romance", "Five words or phrases" and so on and so forth.

People, you're being muchly vague and this thing obviously hasn't gotten off the ground, yet. It's been stickied how long?

A writing contest that's original, and that people would have fun with.

Why not two?

Prose competition: Each writer submits a carefully written comedy piece that doesn't tell you who it's about. At the end of the piece, there's a blurb that explains the situation, who it's about, why they're in this situation, and what you'd do in their shoes(if it isn't already about you). It can be way out there, or as close to home as you like. Each submission is 150 gold, for a cash payout at the end, but the real prize is having everyone who competed write you a small piece expanding on your winning composition. And it must contain the phrase or some similar phrase as "Mr Snuggles ate the bonbons", as decided by the judge.

Poetry competion: Any topic- must have meaning and must be well written. Prize is the same as for the prose.

How does this work?

I'd be glad to be the judge.
