I've always loved Japan and liked the over the top. When I first saw Card Captor Sakura when I was in grade 3, I thought that it was really cool. Then 4 years later (present time) I was talking to this girl on Gaia and she had a petition for a more lolita gaia and from then on I've tried to make myself a rorita/punk. And when I first saw Mana (before I knew he was a guy) I thought "she" was hot and explored further into goth lolita fashion

earlier during last school year a girl had moved in, she was a hottopic whore but she was still awesome.

her and her two other sisters were into Gothic lolita (the older sister dressed in it whenever she went to school!)
one day she brought in the gothic and lolita bible, and i borrowed it for a bit and got more into it.

oi, i was into the clothing before but i didn't know there was really a trend going on about it. Like i used to draw clothing like EGL when i was a little 4th grader.

I got into it last year, I was looking at J-list and I saw the words Gothic Lolita Bible. And I was obsessed with anything including the word goth so I checked it out and fell in love with the style and talked to some people about it. So that's how it happened.

I've always been goth. But with time, my style became more and more lolita. But I didn't know what it meant back then. But when I learned about lolitas, I fell in love and decided to be a real lolita.

Mmmm.. I've always been really interested in gothic arcitecture, you know, churches, castles, most anything built between the 1700s and the early 1900s. I always liked those huge victorian dresses, even since I was a little kid. A couple years ago, I heard about Malice Mizer and just fell inlove with the style Mana made famous. It was girly and elegant, but "gothic"(Victorian) enough to make it really hit home with me. Recently, I've been getting more into it now that I have someone that actually likes almost all the same things I do. I've been buying Gothic Lolita Bibles for the last couple months and just adore the things that are in the lolita style, but in the more gothic designs. When I hear the word gothic, I think back to those victorian dresses I fell inlove with as a child, and the gothic lolita style just personifies everything about it I loved as a child and have grown to love even more now.

Well now, where to start.
I've always loved Japan. I mean LOVED it! It was kind of my culture instead of what really was my heritage. I get into Dir en grey and Miyavi at first as also reading manga up the wazoo and watching anime like Vampire Hunter D. Then stumbling upon Malice Mizer I soon got into Mana and Kana. Also I had started getting into the Japanese street fashion being very interested in the youth. Following on I soon learned about Gothic Lolita. In about the past year though I really got into it.
I'm madly in love heart .

5 years... my friend's aunt got her a 17 magazine, so that my friend would read it and stuff and maybe use the tips and be more girlie... anyway... we were looking through it and we got to an article on Lolita.. fell in love!

I fell in love with the lolita style when I went to a convention of course I didn't know it was style. I have always loved the victorian era thusly my style comes from my tastes.

i was researching popular japanese fashion two years ago for an essay i was writing for japanese. i found out all this stuff about ganguro and lolita. i thought the sweet lolitas looked so awesome so i just kind of researched more and more on the internet. it made me so happy to see girls dressing like pictures in alice in wonderland because i always thought that older style of dressing was so cute but thought it'd be weird for me to dress that way.

funny story actually i had posted my pictures on gaia and someone asked me or told me i was dressed up all lolita style or something along those lines and then i looked it up and well went... "MUST HAVE" this is the pic that people told me i was loli

Well, the first time I heard of it was around Christmas last year. There was a show on TV highlighting an Ama Lolita and her friends who were Gothic Lolita in China I think. Twas in Chinese too on a channel that was all Chinese. My parents were watching it. They sewed their own clothing and designed them. I started getting into Lolita at that point. A few months later, I got interested into an anime called Rozen Maiden. I loved the openings so I Googled the artists, who were Lolita influenced and then got a link to the Wikipedia article on Lolita. I got into Lolita at that point and when I found Lolita communities and groups, I was in love with Lolita.

Actually, I am into fashion alot and I became interested in lolita by, of course, anime/manga, seeing people dress up, and Harajuku. I thought that this would be a good place to get more information about it, make some new friends, and also make some suggestions and help. ^_^

I am a doll dork and I mostly like asian dolls. So of course there are quite a few dressed in lolita. I also stumbled across pictures of a beautiful "woman" who favoured this style. The "woman" was Mana. I'm also very interested in Japanese pop culture, so I was bound to come across it someday.

the way i got into lolita was sadly though much love for lolita through a guild im in. and they spoke alot about mana, which i didnt know about. so i looked it up and got into the whole lolita fashion
