(('Sallright Nikki. ^^))
Okay, this was getting downright creepy. Forget propriety and manners. This was going somewhere Nisso did not like at all. As the first symptoms of panic washed over her (sweaty, increased heartrate, dilated pupils), she moved her knife in front of her, as if she could use it to block Aykon's...facts.
He certainly seemed to believe what he was saying, and it was pretty uncanny that he knew the Scout Master's name. Nisso knew she was somewhere in Gaia, knew that was why she herself had come to Gaia...
...but clearly something major was missing from her memory, if this man remembered them both.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," she said slowly and carefully. "And frankly, you're making me nervous. Which is bad. 'Cause I don't want to let my nerves get the better of me." Big, deep, slow breaths. Calm down. Things could get sorted out, right? Right?
She hoped.

*Judging my Nisso's movements, Aykon could tell what it was she was going for, he remembered the time she almost stabbed Heather with that dagger, however dull it was. He knew the situation was getting more tense but felt the urgency to press on.*
Woah, easy there Nisso, don't go grabbing your dagger on me. I am not going to harm you, I promise. Heck, that is the farthest thing from my mind. It is my job to comfort, not discomfort and I am sorry if this is becoming a rough situation.
*Aykon drew in a tight drag on his tobacco and then stood up slowly so as not to alarm Nisso*
Listen, Nisso, I don't know what has happened...you must have lost your memory...please...I am your friend, you used to come here all the time...I assure you, you are safe here.
*Aykon often remembered that senses other than sight or sound made a difference in recalling memories, in fact, smell was the best as it was processed by the same side of the brain as memory so this gave him an idea.*
Ok, I have an idea...just a moment...
*At this, Aykon ventured off to a closet near the first floor stairwell. From within it, he produced the water bucket and mop that Nisso used to use and the dust removing cloth. He carefully brought them over to Nisso, they smelled just like they did before she left so he thought it might help. But being crafty, he decided on a veiled attempt at memory and set the items just within smell range of Nisso*
Here...look at these...do you remember them? You used to use these every day. You would come in and clean this place and I would give you some gold each week for your help. Can't you remember?
*Aykon hoped that his scientific memories were clear and waited to see what the reaction would be. He non-chalantly held his breath as he waited*

((Thought I'd come play with you guys. ^^))
The wind blew lightly through the trees as Red stumbled through the under brush before finally coming to a small clearing. A weathered down building stood off in the distance, the last remnants of what had most likely been a much loved place. At first she was cautious in aproaching it, afraid that someone might be inside. Some wondering spectral like herself already havin' taken over the abandoned building. Although hating the idea of having to stay in a place that looked so run down she needed a place to stay desperately. Entering in what looked like the back door. She slowly creaped through what looked like an old kitchen. Her eyes already adjusted to the darkness roamed over the furnishings and wood paneling. As she moved further in she came to a wooden stair case. Sensing that no one was down stairs, she decided to make a search upstairs as well, before calling this place her new home. As her feet hit the stairs she immediately felt the difference. Putting hand to carpet her fingers felt as if they touched velvet. It seemed like her first assumption had been correct, which made her wonder why such a place had been left, abandoned and forgotten. I guess it doesn't really matter she thought, as long as whoever they are doesn't plan on coming back. Finally finishing her check upstairs, and determining that no one else was home, she settled in for the night.
Setting her small pack in one of the old room she dusted off a bed and laid back resting. Her thoughts wondering to nothing in particular as the wind continued to rustle the leaves outside, and blow a cool breeze through a broken window over head, that was until a large grumbling noise split the silence. She hadn't eatin' in days, and goddess was she hungry. She'd spent the last few days on the run having to leave another place that seemed to have been compromised. Lonely and afraid she had confided to some local town people which had eventually been her undoing, as they sooned turned her in for the rewards money. She had narrowly excaped with her life, but the price had cost her dearly as she now had to assume a new persona.
Her stomach grumbled again dashing her thoughts, and realizing she wouldn't get anything else unless she got some food in her system she headed back down stairs to the kitchen to look for food.
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing. Sighing she leaned against the door post and looked outside. Lights flickered off in the distance. Squinting she tried to consentrate to figure out what it might be. A town she thought?! The best way to know for sure is to go look. Checking to see if she had her knife and small pistol, she walked towards the source of the light. The rest of her stuff would have to remain for now. As she reached the source of the light she saw that it was another building like the one she had just made camp in except bigger. Her stomach grumbled once more as the smell of something good waffered in the air. She couldn't risk just walking right in again, o she'd have to sneak in and steal something, goddess forgive her. She had been asking for a lot of forgiveness lately but the goddess didn't seem to be listening, maybe that would change, and maybe it wouldn't.
She mapped out the whole tavern , and saw two people inside maybe three. The kitchen looked to be empty at the moment, as the other residents were ingaged in what seemed like a heated discussion. Maybe the goddess was finally listening. She'd just have to wait and see. Locating a loose window she jarred it open and crawled inside. Sticking to the shadows she began her work of salvaging food. If anyone had happened to see her all they'd notice was a small lith shadow of a man, and would quickly dismiss it as imagination.
((Wow I just got carried away didn't I. xp ))

*As soon as the window had been jarred, Aykon felt a change in the atmosphere, he nodded in a dismissal way from the heated discussion for a moment and felt the presence of something else. His etheral sense told him it was not necessarily the presence of a bad person but more the presence of a person in trouble.*
*He walked over to the kitchen and stood as quiet as a statue as he watched the skinny man begin packing uncooked food into some sort of pouch. He shook his head and then finally spoke. His voice was very calm and seemed relaxed. He spoke quietly and calmly so as to achieve the best possible outcome*
You do know that food tastes much better when cooked and had you entered my tavern of your own accord then I would have served you whatever you pleased. I also ask that before you enter my facility that you place your weaponry in the large safe at the door.

'Comfort,' was it? She wasn't nearly so sure. He just kept talking though! He wanted her to believe him, to trust him, and she could feel something inside of her responding to that.
But the cleaning supplies were a bit much. Really. She could see them, knew what they were, did not have any memory of using them. And as for smell? Her nose was worse than most humans'. She couldn't catch a whiff of anything from the mop...though she wasn't truly trying.
She looked up at Aykon. "I'll give you that there are...blanks...in my memory. I'll even give you that memory is a big issue among my people. But I'm no maid," she glared at him, daring him to even try mentioning the absurd idea again.
But she did let the knife rest in her lap. Some instinct had found Aykon worthy of trust...or some fragment of memory had been found.

((Yeah, I couldn't concentrate on anything at all yesterday. I didn't eat and my sugar levels dropped. sweatdrop ))
*Nikki remains silent as she watches. It had become obvious that Nisso was missing some of her memories, the ones including the time she spent at the tavern. What could have possibly caused that? She watches as Aykon pulls the cleaning supplies from the bucket and mumbles very quietly.*
"Interesting..."
*She listens as Nisso speaks, studying the girl's movements. When she speaks next, her voice is gentle and cautious."
"Perhaps, Nisso.... The memories of helping us as a maid is contained in the blanks of your memory?"
*She keeps an eye on Nisso, and the other on Aykon as he walks over to the kitchen door, curious as to whom he was speaking to.*

Keeping her head down Red went very still as she felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise. Dammit, she was sure she had been as quite as possible, and how did he know about her weapons?! She was certain it was a he, there was no way of mistaking that masculine voice for anything else. For a split second she thought about replying back.
Nope, nada, not a chance.
Eyeing the window which was still ajar, she began contemplating escape. At the moment it seemed to be the only logical option. But what about the guy, would he give chase if she ran for it? Maybe if she left the food he wouldn't bother. Her stomach grumbled again at the thought. Shut up she thought, its the price we pay for getting caught.
Shifting her weight slightly she concentrated on the matter at hand. Desperate she decided to use one of her least trained skills, if anything it could buy her some time where she could escape through the woods.
Building up a mass energy in her mind, she flung the unseen thought in his direction, that if it worked perfectly would delay any of his reactions and confuse him as to when she had actually moved, just as her body leaped and arched toward the window, so she could escape to the outside.

((**LMAO*** Becca! You are gonna use that against the Esper! *ROTFLMAO*))
*Aykon felt the sudden change in energy and the change in the thought process of the would be thief, he seemed to know that this was a ruse to escape and decided he would be opporutnistic rather than contemplative*
*As the jarred thought headed in his direction, Aykon distorted it into making the thief think he had jumped through the window when in reality the window has just shut itself and the thief was still standing there in the kitchen*
Alright, take the food, it is obvious you are hungry...I won't stop you from taking food if you want it...if you want a nap for the night too, that can be arranged...food can be replaced, a person's trust cannot.
*At this, Aykon grinned and then left the thief in the kitchen but with the window (and all other escapes other than the front door) securely locked and went back to Nisso*

*Now Aykon entered the main area again and nodded to Nikki*
It is just some poor hungry man who thought it better to steal than ask me if he could eat from the kitchen, I let him take what he wanted, he was starving. It will be entertaining though, he thinks he jumped through the window but he actually is in the same place. I would love to see how this affects him. Such a shame people want to steal when I will freely give what I have.
*He now turns back to Nisso, taking the supplies back and sticking them in the cabinet and returning to her*
Nisso, once again, I do not intend to ask you to work as a maid again or even at all...I was just trying to help you remember. If you are willing to give me an inch of trust, there is one more way that you might be able to remember...there is something else in these walls that not even one of the worst mentality could not forget...it requires you to oiffer me a moment of trust though. I won't demand you try it but if you really want to remember us as desperately as we want you to remember us then show me the trust.
*He then turns to Nikki and leans a head toward the kitchen*
Nikki, while I am talking to Nisso, just keep an eye on our thief over there to make sure he doesn't hurt himself.

((xD I knew it wouldn't work, but that's kind of the point isn't it, she/he doesn't know it won't.))
Red's mouth gaped...wtf?! She was still standing exactly where she had been. Who was this person?! Her eyes narrowed then opened wide in shock as the possiblities rolled through her mind..... Could he have been sent by him...
Backing up in fear she tried the back door as he walked out of the kitchen. Locked, like she figured. Looking around the kitchen frantically she tried to find other means of escape.
None.
Gathering up the food she had left on the floor she went back to the door and began trying to open it anyway she knew how. Why, why now she thought. Maybe the goddess really has abandoned me. Finally giving up in frustrattion she curled up in a corner of the kitchen. The last thing she wanted to do was walk through that door. Maybe he'd forget about her.
Not likely....

"I see. Most likely, though, there are reasons behind his thievery."
*She shrugs slightly and moves near the kitchen door and watches the man. She takes a step inside the kitchen after the man curls up on the floor. She speaks softly, afraid of frightening the man more than he seemed to be already.*
"Hey... If you're hungry.. I can cook something for you, if you'd like?"
*She didn't think it'd work, but she wasn't sure what else to say.*

*Aykon had thrown a good option out to Nisso but decided he should let her think about it for a moment. He then walked back over to the kitchen and glanced in through the bar window to the man crumpled on the floor*
As I told you stranger, feel free to keep the food and no one here is going to hurt you unless you attack them. You really ought to come in here with the rest of us. If you are willing to put your weapons in the safe over there then you can sit peacefully and I will even cook this for you.
*He then glanced over at the front door then back to the man on the floor*
Oh, and if you still find my completely honest attempt at offering you some kindness despite your deeds, and you want to make a mad dash, the front door to this building is open. Or, you can just stay on the floor...but surely that is not comfortable.
*At this, Aykon smiled quite honestly and started to return to see if Nisso had decided to be willing to offer him some quarter but paused*
*He smiled over to Nikki and then to the man on the floor*
This lovely lady is Nikki, the Assistant Manager here, surely you can see that we are being polite, and if you let her cook something for you then I promise you she won't poison you. And, I am the owner and manager of this place, if you feel the need to speak to me, I won't turn you down.
*He glanced over to Nikki again and smiled*
Thanks Nikki-san, if you need help, just call for me.
*At this Aykon shot one more look to the man on the floor and then returned to Nisso.

She was shaking like a leaf now, her pouch clutched tightly in her arms. Her breath caught as another voice broke the silence. Crap she thought, how many other people would have to see her this weak and inept. Obviously the man whi had spoken earlier had informed the rest of the guest what had happened. Just her luck.
She ignored this voice as well and tried to will herself invisble, camaflouge, anything. Will power, and concentration of the mind had always been her weakspots. Ardel had always made that a constant reminder.
Again she heard that voice, and this time made a quick glance in his direction. The man had blonde hair and blue eyes, and there was a girl not to far from him, both of them smiling in her general direction. She wasn't going to buy it. People had smiled at her before only to later have her turned in. Her best bet was to stay right where she was for the moment. It shouldn't be to hard to defend one corner....hopefully.
She started to feel tingly all over, and hoped that something was finally working.
