((Sorry about that. So you know, my posting will be a little sporadic since Fanime is this weekend and I have much to do to prepare for the con. 3nodding I'll try and keep tabs on it as best I can though.))
Tanith blinked at the swift, sure movements of the other woman - who was she, anyway? - and moved quickly to catch up. "I agree," he said, swiftly, though he really had no idea where the woman was going or why he was expected to follow her. Still, she was the only proper human here, and as such the only thing even remotely familiar in this bizzare place.
He had to admit, though, as he trailed her, that the odd 'pull' did seem a bit stronger in this direction. The closer he got, the more it was obvious that it wasn't just like the beacon-call of one of his clockwork beings - there was something alive there, the touch of a soul that he'd never managed to imbue any of his creations with, no matter how hard he tried.
But... "Why me?" he muttered, under his breath.
Chihso, who was still holding tight to his shoulder, all eight legs clamped around his arm like a vice, merely laughed some more, tickling his ear with her breath. Tanith swore.

((Sorry to hold things up, just got home a little while ago. xp heart ))
Mephiti had been having a relatively good day--the weather was beautiful, and she had taken advantage of it to resume her field studies of the plant life native to the Moon Court's territory--until she found the note on her door. Curious, she read it, then read it again and immediately freaked out, squeaking in alarm and dropping all of the plants she had collected in favor of rushing into her chambers. Anyone passing by might have heard assorted clatters and bangs before she rushed out, a heavily-laden sack slung across her chest, not bothering to close her door.
A few minutes of frantic running brought her to the feline's chambers, and she stumbled in rather noisily. "Sorry, sorry, I'm here now, I was out but now I'm here!" she panted, rushing towards her patient. Aranea she was familiar with; she couldn't say the same for Feles, but this was certainly no time for introductions! "It's happening now? Did your water break? How far apart are the contractions?" The shyness Mephiti felt around strangers was eclipsed by her need to heal, and if she hadn't been so frantically focused she might have been shocked at her confident tone of voice.

Nox followed the woman, sauntering by just a few steps ahead of Tanith. She didn't like to be led about, but it was necessary...and if it would serve the purpose of awakening a few more warriors to her cause. Well, it would have to be dealt with.
"Is there a room in particular that seems to be drawing your attention?" she asked, watching Lenore carefully. There were other Fey in these areas, and she did not want anything untoward happening to these new potential kithain because of a misunderstanding.

Lenore is in the hall when she sees a strange woman rushing out of a room with a sack, and into another. Frowning, she takes a few steps toward the room the woman rushed into.
She knows those sounds, and those words, and she pales, if that is possible. She's been through a birth of her own before, and she remembered wanting privacy. . . .
But. . . . She takes a few expirimental steps past the doorway to the room where the birth is happening, and the pull grows fainter. She backtracks, stopping right in front of the doorway, and sighs when the pull returns to the more intense, unignorable feeling as it was before. "This one," she says, miserably.

"... She's right," Tanith admitted, miserably. Whatever this was, he was now entangled in the thick of it. And to think, this morning he was out looking to catch butterflies.
"You should have listened to me and gone the other way," Chihso whispered in his ear, her voice low and rich with amusement. "There are other webs than mine, you know."
"Shut up," he hissed back, then straightened. Well, here he was, and damned if he was going to let circumstances run over him like a runaway train. "I feel the pull as well, dear ladies," he said, sounding much more calm than he really felt. His brow furrowed at the noise from inside the room, though. Whatever was going on in there didn't sound much fun. "But... what is it? I'm not sure I understand why I was brought here."

Nox's eyes narrowed. She knew just what was happening in this room, and that this should be the one they were drawn to....She sighed, realizing what exactly this meant.
"So the curse on our children remains, though it is lifted from their parents," she mutters...then turns to the two, "We must enter the room...however, I will enter first and speak with the parents. They must be informed of what is going on."
Without waiting for a response, she entered the room, "Aranea, Feles...I have two guests who must also enter-- for the sake of your children. It seems the curse lives on, and without their help, your children will be stuck inside a window just as you were when it first began."

Feles snarled as the newcomers arrived, the cat just having been relocated to the head of the bed with Aranea, with the arrival of the healer Mephiti. To be honest, he was glad for the reprieve, and that he was now able to help Aranea rather than leave her to do this on her own while he just played 'catcher' with the kid. Still, he didn't quite feel up to company at the moment, and even the fact that it was Nox walking in didn't stop the soft hiss from coming forth.
As he heard her speak, his eyes narrowed, moving to the door and the two that waited beyond. "They're going to take our child?" he asked, a growl coming out with his voice as he hovered protectively over Aranea. This was NOT how things were supposed to be!

Nox narrowed her eyes fiercely, "Do you think I would allow that, stupid?" she asked, "They are going to give up a part of their soul for your child, just as your kithain did for you."
She shook her head, watching the both of them, "Unless you'd rather they become windows, of course."

About this point was when the 'they' sank into the cat's mind and he stared at Nox in poleaxed shock. "THEY??" He looked to Aranea then, ears pinning back slightly.
She was going to KILL him for this...

'Where have you been?' Aranea fair roared the words out at the unfortunate Mephiti, her breath coming in short panting gasps. It felt like the baby was pretty much ready to come out, and amongst her anger at having to cope with the bulk of the labour without any kind of medical help or pain relief, was a small amount of relief that she had finally arrived, and would be on hand should the baby need her. 'The baby is coming..' she pushed her feet hard into the bed as the urge to push grew. At the sound of voices though she was distracted, looking over as Nox entered, seeing the Majestrix through a haze. 'I...don't..want..strangers..here..now!' she spat, clutching her belly and cursing a blue streak as she realised that she wasnt carrying one child, but two! There was no more time to dwell on any of it though as she braced herself again, teeth bared. 'The baby..babies are coming!' she wailed, the need to push overwhelming.

Wait, wait - I'm going to do WHAT? was what Tanith thought - but, again, did not say. Considering the domineering fae-woman who had led them there, not to mention the lean, clawed and not altogether sane seeming man in front of the doorway now, protesting seemed suicidal. "Windows? Kithain? Soul? I don't understand...." He turned to the human woman near him, confused. "Do you have any idea what this is on about?"
Chihso leaned forward as far as she could without falling off of Tanith's shoulder. "My... the webs binding this place are very impressive," she said, with a smirk. "There's some powerful magic just waiting to catch the children as soon as they come out... it seems almost hungry," she said, conversationally.

Lenore blinks at the feline male when he hisses at them, but stands right where she is.
When she hears Nox speaking about Kithains and windows, her heart sinks right down into her stomach. This is just another odd line to add to her lineage, if she interpreted anything that her fiance told her about her own lost fey child correctly.
For the first time, she stops focusing on the pull so much, and becomes more aware of her surroundings. Something she should have been doing anyway, she mentally chastizes herself. She turns to the male spoke to her last. She sighs at his question. "Unfortunately," she says, very softly, glancing over at the poor woman, before turning her back to her. She would leave, to give her privacy, if she thought it wise. "I do know a little of what is going on. I can't really explain it very well. . . . I think we both should wait until the right moment to be told the full story."

Feles' ears lay flat against his skull as he glared at the two strangers... but he didn't have time to argue the point now. He turned back to Aranea, curling alongside her on the bed and helping to support her as best he could. "It'll be over soon," he whispered, not caring to let these people hear him. He nuzzled her cheek, knowing that he'd likely get bitten... or worse. However, it was worth the risk at the moment.
"And I'm not leaving you."

Aranea bore down, all four arms supporting her now as she planted her feet into the bed, knees bent and legs apart. 'That's good..' she growled through gritted teeth, a hand leaving the bed for a moment and straying close to his neck. Feles was however saved by the baby, and Aranea pushed, the hand helping support her as she strained, yelling and cursing as the first of the babies slowly made its way into the world. 'It's coming...!' she cried, sweat pouring off her forehead as she pushed harder, panting in great breaths as she laboured.

((Argh, sorry, it's been a busy weekend. sweatdrop heart ))
Mephiti's ears flattened both at Aranea's yell and the entrance of someone she wasn't entirely familiar with--of course, she could say that about most of the residents of the keep, but she felt she should know this one, somehow...oh well, there would be time to dwell on this later, when she didn't have to assist a pair of babies into the world. "Stop yelling, Aranea, and push!" she said, grabbing a few of the blankets she had seen placed conveniently nearby. "I can see the head! Um, at least I think it's the head...keep pushing!" The urgency of the situation kept Mephiti's mind off the fact that it was really, really gross.
