Even though Ruby weapon is tough he's very easily beaten if u know how 1st u kill 2 of your players before the battle so he doesn't use his quicksand attack then use dazels ( or something like that) to paralyze him and his tentacles ( u get them by killing, stealing from or morphing monsters that look like puffer fish in the area where Aerith dies)

Well, just about any boss can be difficult or impossible to beat if you're not prepared or just aren't very adapted to the game basics yet.
Materia Keeper, Demon's Gate, Lost Number, Hojo....
Those are just some of the bosses I had trouble defeating my first time through the game, of course that was when i was much younger and now these bosses are a piece of cake! But the point is, there do seem to be some bosses that just piss everyone off.

ruby is hard to beat and still havent beaten him. but when i first played it. first rpg also, that demon gate. i couldnt beat him. it realysucked. so i started over cause i was retarted and it was easy from there

Demons Gate was difficult, and I haven't attempted Ruby nor Emerald yet, but I've heard that Ruby was definitely the hardest.

i hate the rufas vs cloud fight and i also could never do the twin dragon on my first try ive beaten the game 15 times now and twin-dragon still troubles me.
who is lost number i cant remember
lol the airbot or whatever in the second reactor is a pansay i was level 9 (did this today) and i used braver on his back man i did 1256 on his a** i was like lol

Hardest boss? except for ruby and emerald WEAPONS, i'd saw missing number actually proved a really nice challenge.

im going to have to say ruby. he killed me quite fast, i didnt even know what was going on. it was a suprise! haha xd

ruby weapon is so HARD he does an atack which does 9998 damage, leaving anyone with one health or death!

The hardest boss besides ruby and emerald weapons was materia keeper.

As for who Lost Number was, it was the double sided boss, half purple and half red. He was inside the safe at the Nibelheim mansion, where you got *SPOILERS*the Odin summon materia, Cosmos Memory (Red XIII's LVL4 Limit), and the key to get to Vincent*SPOILERS*

im not gonna count optional bosses but for normal bosses gi nattak and the jenova part you fihgt on the ship were always the hardest for me

well gi nattak till i found out you could kill im in one hit with a phoenix down that boss made me so mad i quit for 2 yrs lol
