KTS Well the 49ers should get a new owner(because the owner that the 49ers have now ruined them) also I don't like Alex Smith that much(hell I don't think he could start at the rate the niners are now) also the whole NFC west divison sux too(I mean look at the competion) we got the Rams,Cardinals, and the Seahawks, and the 49ers(all of whom suck in thier own way. The NFC West sure isn't as bad as some people think, and of course does not "suck." ...The Seahawks are a great football team, with a fierce offense and defense. Playing is Seattle is very tough. The Rams were plagued by injuries, yet they still have one of the best offenses in the league. They need to pick up the slack on defense a lot, though. The Cardinals also have a great offensive unit, yet need an offensive line and better linebackers. The 49er's do stink. Frank Gore, Larry Allen, and Patrick Willis seem to be the only things that they can be proud of. Fire their GM, because they really need to rebuild...

We actually only need a few things but they are major. We definitely need a receiver but we have a good tight end, a few good offensive linemen, and of course Frank Gore. Shaun Hill is looking good so far so that might work out, I doubt it. On defense we really just need a pass rush and we will be okay. Our secondary is good and our LBs our very good but our defensive line just sucks

You can't judge a defensive line for a one-game performance... ...Anyways, like I said, Smith is a bust and Hill is old, so they should start looking towards a new QB in the next year or two (draft/trade/FA). ...And yes, you might feel pretty proud that a player on your team leads the league in tackles...But I would feel embarrassed...Leading the league in tackles, only means that your defense is on the field way too long, and that your offense fails to get the job done. No championship-caliber team leaves their D on the field for a long time.

Lol. Niners are playing good football. Seems the piece we really needed was stability at quarterback and we have that out of Shaun Hill. If we put him in when I said we should put him in which was the Baltimore game, we would probably be in the playoffs. Lol. Well, that's just what I think. The defense is playing well. They finally have an offense that can sustain a drive.
Also, Hill isn't old. A 6 year pro, he has a good 8-10 years in him. We don't need to search for a QB. We have the players, just not the right coaches or front office. Face it, Jim Hostler is not a very good offensive coordinator. John York knows nothing about football. If we could use the talent correctly, we could be a very good team, but it seems Nolan and Hostler know squat. Love our defensive coordinator though. Lol. Willis will be a beast. This is just his rookie season.
Regarding our defensive line and our defense in general... Don't we lead the league in most tackles behind the line of scrimmage? Didn't we also hold Adrian Peterson to like, 17 yards? Didn't we contain Chad Johnson and TJ Houshmandzadeh?
Offensive play helps your defense. If your defense in on the field for 40 minutes, then yeah... The defense looks bad. They get worn down and they give up alot on the ground, but still it's a good defense.
Not to mention Special Teams. Our unit is like, the best. They rank like number 1 or 2 in almost all categories. Meh. Whatever. I like this team. I think the biggest concern is in the front office and the coaches. Nothing wrong with the players in my opinion.

The Bears, Jets, Brown, Chargers, Bills, and Redskins have the best special team units. The 49er's also need to get rid of their GM. There have been one too many bust draft picks. Hill is much better than Alex Smith. Adrian Peterson was held to 17 yards that game, because it was his first game back from injury, and if I'm not mistaken, Chester Taylor had like 150 yrds in that game. Also, you were able to control Houshz and ocho cinco because the bengals have a horrible offensive line. One thing I noticed about the niners this year, was that they haven't given the ball to Gore as much as they should. He has a lot of talent, and many consider him a bust from last season's excellent performance, but their defense usually gave away too many big plays, leading to losing by a lot and panicking, and having your only chance to win through the air by passing the football. No defense performs well when on the field for too long.

The 49ers are easily top 5 in special teams. Andy Lee is the best punter in the league, our coverage on both kicks and punts is excellent, and Hicks and Lewis are both solid to good return men.
At linebacker we have Willis and Lawson, who was playing better than Willis before he was injured, and then we have a bunch of average players.
The defensive line is decent but with BY retiring it will probably we much worse. Douglas is good and probably still has a couple of years left but the rest are average at best.
Our secondary is pretty good right now and will only get better once the defense has a pass rush to help out.
On offense we have a good tight end, a good running back, and a decent offensive line. Shaun Hill has been good but I still think a healthy Alex Smith is better. We obviously need a good receiver but Battle isn't that bad and Hill has potential.

Yea, I guess Andy Lee is in the top 3 current punters, along with Shane Lecher, Mat McBriar, and Mike Scifres. Maybe number 2 or 3.

I'm sorry but Lee is definitely number 1 right now. There are only 2 punters in the league that have a higher average then him and one of them has 4 punts while the other has 27 less than Lee. The punt it that many times and keep his average up is amazing. He also has the highest net average in the league, which is the most important thing, and allows the least yards per punt return. That is not because of the coverage unit, it is because he gives his punts tons of hangtime. Against the Bucs one stayed in the air for 5.8 seconds.
