"It was nothing," Sylvester said. "Khali was cool enough to help me out with something, and I had some extra money." He unwound the bag from where he had been twitchily spinning it as they walked. "Here you go." He held it up to her, smiling back. The eye thing might have caught him off-guard, but who was he to judge, looking the way he did.
"Nice to meet you," he said to Aiden, waving goodbye to his newest friend at the same time.

Khali took it and held it to her chest, silver eyes glittering happily, "Nice to meet you too!"
Aiden smiled a bit and shook his head, "Come on, Khali, let's get you some stuff for the room, hmm?"
The child nodded her head and yawned, clinging to the book still, "Okay. But you carry me..." a pause as she watched Sylvester leave.
"Byeeee!!!!"
