The Poison Arrow

Kyler swung in his hammock, one leg dangling over the side as it bopped to the heavy metal like music booming from his stereo. With his gloved hand he flipped the pages of a book with the title " Spooky ghost stories", it's eyes shifting every now and then as if reading the book as well. He found the book to be very good and exciting and had read a large portion of it already. He smiled as he poped some popcorn in his mouth and turned a page once more.

Well from the sound of the music vibrating the air around her, someone was definately at home in this house. She pressed a webbed hand to the door, then curled it into a fist and banged hard. She backed away and waited, her head spines gently rising and lowering as Pterois tapped her foot on the floor. This had to be Kyler's place, she hadnt found him anywhere else after all..

Kyler peered over his book at the loud bang and reached down with a spider leg to turn the music down. He swore it was the front door and pondered who it could be. With a hop he jumped down onto his feet from his bed and marked the page he was on in his book before closing it. Making his way tot he door quietly and curiously he opened it and peered outside

" Yeeeess?"

Pterois uttered a little startled squeak of surprise as someone opened the door. It was a way bigger someone then she was expecting.
'Oh I'm sorry,' she said quickly, fidgeting.
'I was looking for..Kyler?' she squinted up at the young man.
'Is that you?'
As other things registered, like the spider legs and the black hair she wondered how she could have not recognised him.

Kyler grinned and opened the door with a chuckle at the squeek Pterois let out. She probably didn't reconise him that much any more. He smiled and picked her up in a hug before putting her back down.

" Course it's me silly, who else would have a nice face like this"

He smiled a little and winked half his eyes before crouching down in front of her.

" Guess this is a bit of a surprise huh?"

Pterois wriggled, blushing a little as Kyler scooped her up. After all this was the shy boy she had kissed by the Lake! Albeit on the cheek, but still.
'Yes..' she nodded, tugging on her dress that was still damp from her morning swim.
'When did you grow? Did it hurt? Was it quick?' she asked, curiosity overcoming any awkwardness.

Kyler smiled and stood back up and waved her inside, shutting the door behind her as she entered. Kyler's home was pretty spacious, it didn't have alot of things in it. The hammock was actually in the corner of what the louge would have been, he liked it downstairs.

"All in good time.. have a sit down.. umm would you like a drink?"

Kyler motioned to the bean bag chairs, only two there. He liked them as they were comfortable for his back limbs. Moving over to the refridgerator, he went looking about inside it.

" I have some apple juice or cola?"

Pterois wandered inside, looking around her at the interior. She nodded as she sat on one of the bean bags, giggling as the beads inside it shifted under her bottom.
'Umm cola I guess.' she said, flailing a little as she tried to sit up.

Kyler popped open a bland white can with the word " Cola" written on it and grabbed up two glasses out of a cupboard nearby. Pouring the drink into each glass, he made his way over to Pterois with them and sat on the bean bag opposite and held out a glass.

" Umm where were we?"

Pterois pushed the hair back out of her face, having finally managed to sit up properly without sinking again.
'Well, before I got eaten by your chair,' she took the drink.
'Thanks. I asked about you growing.' she smiled, taking a sip.

Kyler smiled and looked down at himself, a lttle bit of red hit his cheeks as he smiled. Taking a sip of his drink he settled into his seat.

" Well yeah.. shock huh? Well it didn't hurt at all, I slept through it, I basically woke up like this"

Kyler waved a hand up and down his body, motioning to it's new look.

" I slept for a very long time too, like I missed a day... oh and naked... I broke my clothes "

He chuckled and blushed a little at that.

Pterois coughed on her drink, as it nearly went up her nose at that.
'Oh,' she said, when she had finished spluttering.
'Well at least you were on your own when that happened. I wonder if I will grow soon, and if the same thing will happen.' she went quiet, thoughtful.
'Do you feel different for being bigger?'

Kyler leaned over and as if almost by magic, he held out a black napkin which he wiped down her face of spluttered cola.

" Umm well yeah!.. I'm bigger... that's pretty fun"

He smiled and chuckled a little, and curled the napkin up in his gloved hand. It seemed to disappear as he rested his hand on his knee.

" I know alot more that's for sure, I think I learnet them when I grew. And my voice is all... weird... like deepy sorta"

Kyler ran his fingers through his hair and took a sip of his drink.

'Thanks,' she said, and she watched carefully, trying to see where the napkin had come from, but didnt see properly when he took it away either.
'Yeah, I noticed about your voice.' Pterois shifted carefully, not wanting to sink again.
'You look really cool. I hope I grow soon.' she smiled brightly.
'I want to be big like you.'

Kyler chuckled and smiled and even blushed a little at the flattery he was getting, he almost wished it wasn't a big deal.

" Aww thanks, glad you like the new me, I bet you'll look really cool too when you grow up"

'Well maybe, I just hope it doesnt happen when I'm around other people.' Pterois giggled.
I dont think going nude in public is my idea of fun.' she smiled.
'What you been doing then, apart from growing?'

Kyler chuckled and took a sip of his soda, he thought it too was a good thing he wasn't outside when he changed.

" Well I slept for a whole day... so maybe it happens when you go to sleep"

He thought that had to be it, when you went to sleep sometime you will change. He looked at Pterois, realising he might have scared her from not sleeping again.

" Well.. umm... just meeting people and reading... and oh.. I got a present"

Kyler motioned to his glove and showed it off a little.

'I should go then, go and sleep till I change,' she giggled, taking a long swallow of the soft drink.
'Yeah, I saw your glove.' Pterois nodded, eyeing it with curiosity again.
'It looks..odd. Is it just a glove?' she asked.

Kyler turned his hand over , looking it over as he finished his drink and put the glass down. He smiled and shrugged lightly at the question.

" Kind of... I guesss, it's a weird thing, a present from the green eyed guy"

He smiled and flicked his hair to the side, brusing it back a little.

" You really want to grow don't you? I can't wait to see how you turn out, bet you look real prety"

Pterois looked at him shrewdly;
'Kind of? It does do something, you just arent saying what,' she said. She watched as he flicked back his hair, trying not to giggle at his preening.
'Yeah. I don't like being small when people around me are growing.'

Kyler looked down at his glove and and turned it over, back and forth, rubbing his other hand over it.

" Well I think it helps out when I need it, ..it's a strange... thing."

Kyler noticed Pterois amusement of his hair fondling and grinned, using his spider legs to fluff at his hair a little. He settled back and got comfortable and smiled.

'Do you know what it does though, like when it helps you out?' Pterois persisted. Then she laughed.
'Should I mess your hair up, would that help? Then you would have something to actually fix.'

Kyler tried the find the best explination to tell Pterois about the glove that was attached to his hand, but nothing came to mind. So he just shook his head and rested it in his lap.

" I just know it helps... really hard to explain"

He grinned at her when she mentioned his hair, then keeping still, he lets his spider limbs play with his hair. The strange legs messed with his hair until it looked like he had grown a set of horns on his head.

'Well okay,' she shrugged a little, her head spines rising and then lowering again.
'Oh very nice,' she laughed at his new look, struggling out of her beanbag and going over to mess his hair up herself.
'You play with your hair more then I do, and I'm a girl.' she teased.

Kyler grinned and chuckled amused at her hair ruffling. He had to joke and he tickled at her sides while she was so close to him with hands and legs.

" Well that's because my hair is so much prettier than yours, it needs more attention"

He chuckled as he joked.

Pterois squealed when he tickled her, stumbling back and catching her foot as she did so. She landed on the floor with an 'oof' noise, sitting up and rubbing her bottom and tail base.
'Ouchie,' she giggled.
'You hair is not prettier then me,' she pouted.
'Unless you are a girl really?' she teased, then yawned so wide she was sure her jaw had clicked. She wobbled a little, blinking.
'I feel..' she sagged.

Kyler blinked as he watched Pterois topple over from his tickling onto her butt. It wasn't something he had meant to do. Biting his lower lip, he jumped up and moved over to help her to her feet.

" Oh sorry, you okay?.... and I might be a girl...who knows!?"

He grinned, trying to get Pterois to smile again, but she looked too tired to giggle like she normally would.

" You look sleepy"

'I..am,' she yawned again, her eyes feeling so heavy, her whole body feeling as if she could lay down and sleep right in Kyler's home.
'So tired,' she wobbled again.
'I need to sleep.' she managed to say that small sentence without yawning.

Kyler gave a smile and reached down to scoop Pterois up in his arms. He carried her over towards his hammock, which was up pretty high.

" You can sleep here,..don't worry it's safe and really comfy"

Kyler hopped up ont the wall and with his back limbs, climbed up the wall and slid Pterois into the hammock, patting her head and tucking his blanket over her.

" Have a sleep, I'll just be on the chair over there"

He pointed to the sofa chair in the corner of the room.

'nk you.' she managed as he carried her and put her into the hammock. Her eyes slid shut and the last thing she remembered for definate was the feel of him placing a blanket on her.

From the moment Pterois fell asleep, her mind has been racing with many images, knowledge flows into her head and is soaked up like a sponge. It soon ends, and is replaced with a peaceful dream that eventually fades as eyes begin to open. Pterois soon finds herself in a place that is not her old room, or Kyler's place, but almost appears like it. All her possessions are here including a set of clothes beside her bed, she will need these as she is currently naked, with fish scales all around her. Pterois has changed, grown taller and smarter, parts have developed and her body larger. This is Pterois's new home, a small house infact, with everything she would need bar some new clothes.

Pterois sat up with a yell, thrashing around on the bed as she woke fully.
'Where am I?' she muttered, rubbing her head as she looked around the room. It was like when she had first arrived, waking in a strange place. Her hand brushed something and she grabbed it, looking at the shimmery objects on her palm. They were scales...they were her scales! Now that she stopped and thought, her body felt strange, faintly sore and she could see that her fingers had lengthened and the webbing between was bigger.

She stood from the bed, scales falling in a silent, flashing shower around her feet.
'Mirror..mirror. Where is a..' and she spied a reflective surface, a 3/4 length mirror in fact. She went and stood in front of it and then poked the mirrored glass, unable to believe that it was a real reflection she was seeing. Her tail flexed, flicked behind her and she coiled it around, noting that it had grown in length and thickness. It felt more powerful. She grinned; now she would really swim well.
'Oh..' a webbed hand went up to the two new additions at the front of her body. She gently squeezed each one, then let them go, watching as they settled. Then she bounced on the spot.
'Breasts..' the word came unbidden but she knew that was what they were. And guys liked them generally. She smiled even wider...Kyler. She placed a hand on one hip and posed a little, her head spines rising as she did so. She thought she looked not half bad..but she would have to find someone else so see if that was true.

'Clothes..' she stated. Clothes would be a good idea. There were some by the bed and she shook the old scales off them that she had obviously shed when she had grown. Pulling them on she left her bedroom, and her new little place. She would look around it on her return, for now she wanted to find her friend.
