I just got a letter from my new penpal. *squeal* whee I'm not sure whether to write back to her in Japanese or English, though. She wrote to me in English.

I can't say that I have any "pen pals"... I have a lot of friends in Japan though. Most of which I keep in contact with through email. Honestly you would probably have better luck having a "pen" pal via email....haha. Everything is digital with Japanese (and yes of course... American) youth today....though Japan definately outranks us on cell phones. I might even be able to get one to join. I can't say I know any sites for finding pen pals though, but I would think they exsist. I'll ask some of my friends and see if they know of anything ^-^

Hey!! I might have something that could help ^-^....I was reading through the new addition of Anime Insider today and someone sent in asking the same question...."Where can I find a Japanese penpal?" And the author provided and great...*legitimate* website....none other than the website for the Japanese Embassy! w00t!

If you go there and scroll down to the bottom they give you several sites to choose from where you can find Japanese pen pals! I hope this helps ^-^

If you don't find what you're looking for here, you can always type "Japanese Pen Pal " into your search engine (i use yahoo! personally), go to yahoo! directory and go to Social Science > Communications > Writing > Correspondence > Pen Pals > Japanese, or try http://japanese.about.com/od/penpals/. I have about 3 penpals from Japan now. They all e-mailed me and requested I be penpals with them. I posted on a Japanese penpal site that I wanted Japanese penpals and I got so many responses! I dun remember the site though. If I do I will post it here!

I have a penpal from japan named Riri...well thats her nickname, its snail mail ONLY but anyone who is intrested, please contact me, i will give u the link, im too busy right now to find it and paste it....trust me, u can find penpals of all ages here, Riri and me have been in contact for about a year now, and i have recevied pics of her tokyo trip, a j-pop cd, and comics in jap that SHE drew! You can many girls or boys like her! 3nodding So contact me!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the japanese embassy is a really good site to get a pen pal! It is also impressive to your parents
