Niki nabbed the toddler as Aysel was handed over to the woman. She tried helping Tara by nabbing some of the catepillar girl's hands, but there were four of them and Niki only had one free hand.
Then, Tara was free and Aysel had started to cry. Great. Jiggling the girl, Niki started through the house towards the backyard. "Come on, Aysel. We'll go have some fun in the backyard while your mommy works inside for a bit. She'll be out in just a few minutes, I'm sure."
Alaqua climbed up Niki to peer at the whining child. "Why Aye-Aye all upsets? We gonna goes climbing!"

"Mo-mo-mommy!" Aysel wailed reaching towards the two story house with all four arms. Big tears dripped out of coral eyes and plopped onto her purple jumper. Finally convinced that her new mommy wasn't about to come rescue her Aysel threw her head into Niki's shoulder and wailed, ignoring Ala's question.

Niki sighed, carrying the sobbing toddler on outside and towards the trees. Alaqua happily scrambled up the nearest one. "Come on, Aye-Aye. Climbings are fun!"
Niki turned her head to glance at Aysel. "Come on, Aysel. Ala wants you to climb with her. Don't you want to climb the trees with Ala?"

Aysel shook her head, still hidden on Niki's shoulder. "No.....Mommy....." the luna moth muttered as her sobs subsided. Though they were soon replaced with small hiccups. For a little while longer Aysel kept her face hidden before curiosity overcame her. Turning her head just a little the toddler glanced at Alaqua in the trees.

Niki sighed, patting the girl's back softly. She was relieved when the girl looked at Ala curiously. Ala grinned and waved, beckoning the other girl up. "Come, come. Climbings is fun!"
Niki stayed still and silent, praying mentally that Aysel would go play and then she could relax and just watch the two for a while.

Aysel shook her head again, though not as firmly as before. The toddler continued to watch Alaqua, comfortably nestled in her 'Aunt Niki's' arms. The toddler continued to lay there watching Alaqua for a few more moments, during which several loud crashes where heard from the house.
Finally Asyel squirmed, trying to get down to go climb the trees with Alaqua. She watched the other girl closely, trying to figure out how to get up onto the branches.

Niki glanced back at the house at the sound of the crashes. What on earth was Tara doing in there? But, Aysel was squirming to get down and Niki happily placed the luna moth child on the ground. Yes, yes, go play....
Ala squeeled happily and scrambled down to show Aysel how to climb up the tree.

Blinking at Ala, Aysel moved slowly to the base of the tree. She watched closely as the koala climbed the tree, noting how the claws dug into the bark. Carefully she jumped, wrapping all four arms around the tree and clinging tightly. The rest of her body, including the tail like thing behind her swung slightly before she scrabbled with her feet for a toe hold.
Bit by bit though the caterpillar slid down the trunk of the tree, not having a very strong grip on it.

Ala blinked, a bit confused. Though 'Aye-Aye' had four arms, she didn't have the nice climbing claws like Ala did. Hmm.... Gripping tighter with her 'feet' and one hand, Ala offered the other to Aysel. Some of the lower branches weren't too far up, so maybe the pair could manage to make it up there.

Aysel jumped again, wrapping her arms around the trunk. Ala offered one hand down towards the other toddler and gratefully Aysel took a hold of it. Pulling a little on Alaqua, the luna moth toddler made it up a few inches, before she saw how to use her arms. The top pair reached up a little and held on, both to Alaqua and to the tree, while the bottom kept her in place. By pulling on Ala and the tree she could scoot up a little bit.
It was hard work though, and Aysel wasn't sure that the trip would be worth it..

Ala held onto Aysel's hand as she used her other hand and her two feet to climb up, bracing herself to help Aysel up the tree. They were climbing! Both of them. Ala was happy. Now 'Aye-Aye' could see how pretty it was up in a tree. Things looked different from so high up.

Inch by inch Alaqua and Aysel managed to get up the tree, until the luna moth could finaly grab onto one of the lower branches with her arms and legs. After some rather strange acrobatics the luna moth managed to situate herself on the branch.
The toddler felt her mouth drop open as all of a sudden she could see the top of Aunty Niki's head. She grinned broadly. "'La!" She called excitedly to Alaqua, pointing eagerly.

Alaqua nodded happily. Being up was so much better. Yes, yes it was.
"Aunty" Niki waved up at the two girls. "Be careful," she warned, as usual. And Ala responded in her typical manner of ignoring the warning.

Aysel simply giggled again, waving at the short woman. The toddler was content to sit on the low branch, happy with her acheivement.

Ala plopped down onto a nearby branch, grinning at 'Aye-Aye'. "See? Climbings is much funs." The girl nodded, both to herself and the other child.
Niki glanced back towards the house. Hopefully, it didn't take Tara long to do what she needed to...
