Its probably not nice of me to do, but when my computer messes up I call it straight. Example: "Sorry, I got kicked off. My computer is being straight."

Using the word 'Gay' in its original context is wonderful, but the straight thing is too far. I used to be full on straight and when I was I never spouted "That's so gay" around and I despise how people use that as an insult. Your GSA feels like its giving the cold shoulder to straight people. Its not called a Gay-Straight-Alliance for nothing. C'mon.

Maybe it's because I'm an insensitive heterosexual, but quite frankly I just don't care if it offends people to call something gay if it's being stupid or frustrating. Words have more than one meaning, I've already lost the use of the word "queer" when describing something that's just odd because people don't even know that use of the word (my catchphrase at one time was "how queer" before I understood the other definition -- I was like twelve, kay?). I don't ever use the word f** except when talking about smokes. Once again it gets me weird looks and confusion wherever I go. They're just words, IMHO. If people want to find some deeper evil meaning in them they can be my guest.

I fully support using the original definition of words. And while I don't give a ******** about 'Straight Rights', I do care about not having the Gay Rights Movement take a step back due to heterophobic comments like 'That's so straight!' as a euphenism for stupid. It's just replacing one word for another.
That being said, we also need a new English word for singular gender-nonspecific, because it's sexist to use either" he" or "she" individually in manuals and such, and it's gramatically incorrect to use anything besides 'It', and 'It' is demoralizing to some people.
But anyway: Replacing one form of hateful language with another is adding to the Anti-Gay Movement, not the Pro-Gay Movement.
