Dear Journal,

Things are a little wonky on this end as of late - which is why I haven't written in you for so long. You see, Coailiann is slowly learning how to speak better - and walking. Sort of. She can stand up but if she tries to walk she falls straight on her rear. Very determined to walk because her friend Lahela certainly is.

Matilda and I...Well, Five wands surfaced - 3 at once, and then a week later, another two within a few hours of eachother. Matilda...Is...Well, to say the least, Matilda is passed out and probably won't wake for a good long time...Coma, I think. It frightens me, not having this...This presence of her. Yes, I know what she's doing and why she's doing it, but it frightens me nonetheless.

To know my baby is slowly killing herself. I felt her pain the night the Thunderbird wand was found. It was horrible. I admire her, even though she's becoming more cold and distant. I suppose that's what happens when your soul is ripped from you, though.

I broke my arm. And Got shot with an arrow, but that was healed. I guess I caused quite a commotion in the headquarters, which rather frightens me. They may know too much about the wands. They CAN'T know...Not yet. Just...Not yet. They'll know in time.

I met the new owners - they're interesting enough, some more strange than others. And one man. One man that...I....

Well, I don't know how to explain it. I think he hit on me - or at least, that's what I think it's called. Nobody's ever done that before! It made me rather nervous, and...Oh well, Coailiann adores the man, and I asked him to dinner.

TO DINNER! I...I think I have a date. Dear lord. Oh dear goddess help me.

-Ianna

Ianna sat quietly by the fountain, fingers trailing across the top of the cool water. Coailiann was laying in her mother's hammock, swinging back and forth in it, asleep like a little angel, meaning Ianna was quite alone in the warm sunshine. Which was only warm because she wanted it to be and weather could change at a whim, if it wasn't wanting to be difficult.

Coailiann had become a little cranky as of late due to the fact she no longer felt her sister's presence. She was also a little frustrated that she wasn't able to walk yet and Lahela could. Of course, she had to take it out by crying, screaming, and carrying on.

Ianna was tired of it. So here she was, in a white sundress - very different from her usual nerdish attire, and staring at the water. Her silver hair was loose, out of it's pony tail, and getting a bit longer. She knew it was time for a cut, but she was too busy to do it. It was her first time off in a week, after all. So it hung around her shoulders and framed her face.

Ever present were her glasses, sliding half way down her nose. She was blind without them.

Malen after wandering about the gardens for a few minutes Malen managed to spot Coailiann snoozing in the hammock. He thought about the bracelet he'd brought for her and decided that he'd give it to her when she was awake, much as she'd liked him the last time she'd seen him Malen knew waking sleeping babies was dangerous to ones health. Besides he figured Ianna was probably enjoying the peace and quite.

Moving a little further into the gardens he caught sight of Ianna sitting at the fountain. His tongue darted out to swipe his lower lip briefly, the woman was beautiful. She'd been amazing looking before but as he watched her looking happy and carefree he saw a sort of glow about her that hadn't been there before. " Hello there ' he called out as he approached her waving a posy of violets carefully. Unable to think of a suitable gift for Ianna he'd settled for the age old gift of flowers.

Ianna lifted her head, silver eyes focusing in on the man with the flowers before a smile bloomed over her lips, suddenly very aware her dress was a bit too thin for company. And it was light out.

At least she wasn't wet.

"Hi!"

She felt rather stupid before revising her speech, "Hello, Malen."

Muuuuch better! "What brings you here today?" Silver eyes moved to the violets and she smiled, "And who are those for?"

She truely was a little clueless, wasn't she?

Malen laughed " I couldn't stay away from you two lovelies any longer". He was tempted oh so tempted to arrange for her to fall into the water so he could get a better view of what was under that dress. " Work's slow and I thought I'd bring over some presents a bracelet for Coailiann and violets for you." Violets were a symbol of faithfulness and secret love though he doubted that Ianna knew that. It was probably better if she didn't otherwise she'd probably bolt thinking he was being too forward and going to push her into something.

Ianna didn't know what Violets stood for, but that was indeed a good thing. She would have flushed and been too embarrassed - though she wouldn't have bolted. She wasn't one to flee from a problem rather than face it head on. Not that it would be a problem - she kind of liked him herself.

"Oh! That's so nice of you, thank you Malen...Coailiann's asleep but I'm sure she'll adore it when she wakes and I love flowers....Nobody's ever given them to me either but...."

She was rambling

Sitting down beside her Malen offered Ianna the posy. " that's a shame, it's hard to believe a girl like you never got any flowers growing up." though he figured that if Ianna had always dressed down and been shy she might have escaped the notice of most boys it seemed impossible that no one before him had noticed the person beneath all that. " so how's the shop going?" he asked casually fingers instinctively reaching to glide momentarily over the Succubus wand, he went nowhere without it.

A soft flush came over Ianna's cheeks as she took the flower, looking down a little to the point a few silver strands of hair fell over her face, "Are you trying to make me blush, Malen?" she asked softly, biting at her lip.

She SO was not used to this!

"Quiet, thankfully. Matilda went into a coma-like state...Too many things at once, it zapped her. It'll be quiet for a long while, so I'll have more time on my hands." Her eyes went to the wand, "I see you have the Succubus. Have you thought of a name?"

Unable to resist touching the charming young woman before him in come way he reached out and brushed the silken strands off her face. " As much as you look adorable blushing that wasn't my intent." he said truthfully. His only desire had been o make her smile and chase away the weary look her quicksilver eyes had contained.

Malen nodded answering he question " Kishi is native American for night and Succubi are creatures of the night so I figured it suited her. Of course inevitably she'll hate it and insist on being called something else after asking me how stupid I am for picking something like that. It was in Malen's mind a pretty good possibility so many children he knew hated their names and wanted to be something else.

Ianna had the strange urge to lean her head into the other's touch - though she didn't. She was good at maintaining distance, so she would, simply nodding her head gently, "Well, at least you're not trying to make me blush."

He did succeed in making her look of distress go away, though.

"That's a lovely name, Malen. I'm sure Coailiann will kill me for the spelling of her name. It looks nothing like how it's pronounced..."

Malen laughed " Children are never happy with what they were named, heck I wasn't happy with my name but we grow into them eventually ". He was tempted to pursue the blush comment but decided to drop it , nothing he could have said would have sounded right .Besides he was sure that at some point he'd find it amusing to see how many times he could make her blush in one day. "Still worried about Matty" he asked remembering an earlier statement. he needed to stay on safe topic for a while until he was sure of exactly what sort of footing he had here.

"Yeah, a little bit. But she's...strong. So I guess I get to be too."

The truth was, the woman was more than a little bit worried. She had never seen Matilda in the state she was in, and she didn't know what to do. No matter HOW old she was, she was still her daughter.

"I liked my name, and I certainly like yours. They're different, I guess."

He nodded 'Indeed different but nice not freakishly weird but not ordinary either". The fountain behind them had been intriguing Malen for the last few minutes and he decided that he definitely wanted to go for a swim. The water was so clear and inviting, besides it would give him a reason to take off his shirt. Malen really preferred to wear as few clothes as possibly and lately he'd felt far too dressed.Carefully removing kinship's wand from his pants he quickly pulled of his shirt and dove into the water angling so hit didn't hit the bottom just glided above it for several feet before surfacing." come for a swim?" he offered.

Ianna tried not to gawk - she REALLY did - but...of course, she couldn't help it. Lips grasped for words to even answer the man before she turned her head away and lost out to the dark blush covering her cheeks, "Uh..Sure."

Ianna slid out of her dress, only in her bra and panties before she slid into the fountain herself. And no, she saw nothing wrong with that. She was naive, after all. She had done the same thing for Nai, though it was a little different this time. She was in a sling, and she had to be careful, so she simply let her arm rest on the side of the fountain.

Malen was struggling not to do .. well something. It was not everyday that women got mostly naked to swim with him. He'd had his fair share of the fairer sex yes and he'd seen a variety of personalities but Ianna just floored him. She wasn't a slut but she wasn't one hundred percent innocent either she was just.. perfect. Thankfully the water around him remained cool keeping him from getting too excited which was the last thing he really needed right now.

It was also probably fortunate that she was still in her sling and unable to get too close to him lest he be tempted by her undeniably attractive body and personality and charm and those eyes and those lips and those breasts and whoa slow down do not think that way or well just don't. Taking in a few visibly deep breathes he smiled at her " What no skinny dipping?" he teased though knowing full well if she actually got naked he'd probably lose all control.

Ianna blinked her silver eyes and a flush took to her cheeks again, "Urm...Nope. Sorry?" She offered, smiling weakly. Suddenly she was very aware that she probably did something she shouldn't have done. She was half tempted to slide out again and grab her dress again.

It would be SO easy....But the water felt nice in the sunshine, and she did so love the water...

"Uhm..." she started, grasping for words to say. She didn't exactly have any experiance with talking to men, unless they were gay - as shown by her choice in a friend, Patrick. "Um....How's the water?

Lame, Ianna. Lame.

"Chilly" Malen replied laughing. Oh gods she was blushing again if she kept that up her face was going to be permanently red. Though the water was cold it was also refreshing and helped him keep his mind clear of the dirty thoughts that were currently attempting to fill it. Really how was he supposed to be responding here he was a good person he knew but he was still a man. Sinking into the water he swiftly glided over to a spot just a few feet away from her deciding he could handle being a bit closer , well that and he couldn't help but want to have slightly better view.

Ianna watched him move closer to her and forced her blush to go away, taking deep breaths. What was WRONG with her? She was not USED to this! She gave a little sigh and closed her eyes, "I find it nice, I love water..."

"What are some of your favorite things, Malen?"

Well, if she was going to strip down to sit in the fountain with him, she should at least know more about him! Right?!

Nibbling on his lower lip Malen pondered the question for a minute " Well I like researching mythology from around the world. I'm addicted to anime and manga in all forms though I abhor regular television." He paused to stretch " Mm, other than that the odd bit of cooking is fun books are always good and I absolutely love creating music in my computer. More often than not I find out that I've created a tune from years ago and thus it's not really usable anywhere but it's still fun and helps me relax."

Ianna smiled a little bit, "Never used a computer for...and I don't like TV that much either myself. I prefer a good book, whenever I actually have time." she paused, "I'll probably have a bunch of time now that there shouldn't be any more of me skipping off to get more wands."

Ianna splashed in the water a little bit, wanting so much to dip completely in and get her head wet. She sighed. "I hate being in a sling."

"Finding time to read is good," he agreed " What sorts of things to you read for your self and what do you read to Coailiann?" Tough his blood still ran hot he tempered it with his unending curiosity. He knew from experience that the more he knew about a woman before things got psychical which he was hopign they would here the better things were betwen them before inevitably his job became an issue and everything went to hell. Getting to know Ianna better would also most likely be rather interesting seeing as how aside from her glasses he'd yet to find a dull boring thing about her.

Her sigh bothered him but there was really little he could do. "If you think the sling will hold I can carry you about and keep you afloat occasionally dunking you." he offered. It was unlikely that she'd risk it but he wanted to try, well that it was an excuse to touch her again something his fingers had been wanting to do since they's brushed those few strands of hair.

"I love reading about mythology, and as corny as it sounds, romance novels," ahhh, she wasn't AS innocent as it would seem. Well, sure she was. She didn't know what half the things in the romance novels talked about, she just liked reading them. Not that Malen would know that, "I read Coailiann Doctor Seuss, which she adores, and we just started Charlotte's Web."

At his suggestion she thought a moment, "Um...." she started, trying not to blush, "Sure...Just...Be careful, I don't have anyone to heal it if something goes wrong."

Malen grinned " Ahh Charlotte's web so sweet yet so sad so likely to either inspire her or make her cry ." Malen as a child had enjoyed the story the struggle of the farm animals through their lives and Charlotte's final sacrifice. His sister had found it boring and trite deciding to move onto other books before getting halfway through." Romance novels hmm, so are you looking for cowboys who sweep city women off their feet, or knights of the round table or millionaire tycoons who can have any woman they look at but the plain looking secretary they've always wanted but has never noticed them." Malen had never understood why woman who learned he read romance novels though he was odd. Sure they were written almost exclusively by women and often from women's points of view but that didn't mean men couldn't enjoy them.

Walking over to Ianna her carefully slid one arms under her knees gently holding the far leg placed the over behind her back and gently stepped away from the wall. As long as the fountain didn't magically make itself deeper they should be fine his feet had a decent grip on the floor and she was damn near weightless.

"The first time I read Charlotte's web I cried. I saw the movie, I cried. Remains one of my favorite books," Ianna said with a grin. Hearing he read romance novels, however, made one of her eyebrows raise, "You read 'em eh? I prefer medieval ones myself. I enjoy old-fashioned charm."

When she was picked up, her grin never faded and she leaned into him just a little bit, to keep from toppling out of his arms and into the water, her good arm sliding around him to keep a firm hold as well, "Not too much trouble, am I?"

"I read everything and my dear old fashion charm is cowboys of the old days , chivalry is medieval , most knights are chivalrous , kind good and courteous cowboys has sultry voices tanned skin and mysterious air about them thus making them charming" he teased." and you're no trouble at all Ianna " he replied smiling. that was a slight fib she was trouble in all the right way the ways that made his blood sing .She was warm and soft and even her hair smelled amazing.

"Knights are Chivalrous, but charming nonetheless, at least to me. Kind of like you, you're charming. Do you use your charm in the same ways as they do?" an eyebrow raised and her smirk grew.

Despite the fact she knew nothing of sex and whatnot, she DID know that they did try to make women theirs. Ianna didn't quite know what to think of that, but the women seemed to enjoy it in any case.

Malen laughed being careful not to shake Ianna in doing so " i suppose you could say that." she smiled at her " is my charm working on you? "it was a silly question but still he wondered just what did she see in him. was he a friend? a wand owner a male figure for Coailiann or something more.

"Mmm, I don't know," Ianna answered honestly, her brows furrowing and a strange sort of look coming into her silver eyes, "I've never been this close to a male. I don't know how you males think half the time and...I've never really had friends so I don't know what to consider you. Or know if your charm is working on me. I like being around you, though."

At least she could answer that last thing truthfully.

"Mm well first off despite how we are often portrayed men are just as varied in our thinking as women. Groups of like minded guys think many of the same things but still have differecnes. For a young woman suddenly getting a lot of male attention you're doing just fine and I'm glad you like being around me , I'd hate to come here often knowing that my presence bothered you." he paused "it probably wouldn't stop me from coming but I'd likely be a bit more distant and sad. like that best friend guy in ever movie, he wants the girl so badly and tires so hard but is destined to be replaced by someone far cuter and with less intelligence."

Ianna couldn't help but blush that time, her eyes looking down, "You want me?" The thought was incredibly strange to the woman. Nobody had ever WANTED her before. Hell, her childhood years were spent behind books and in her room. Teenage years? Pretty much the same. Only when she became a mother did she really begin to blossom out of her shyness - and where she was now with it really said a lot. She had been REALLY shy.

Her head lifted to look at him, silver eyes showing signs of that confusion, "Why?"

Malen didn't even need to think to answer that question" because Ianna you are kind and sweet and caring. your nurturing and forgiving you are to me everything I could ever want in another person. how could I not want you when I look at you and see both inner and outer beauty that can't compare to anyone I've ever met .like I've said I've known other women and you're special and i can't help but want to have that specialness." There he'd said it and she'd know promptly insist he was crazy or that he couldn't possibly know her that well to judge her or well whatever excuse a woman could come up with to reject him. It had hurt before but it was going to hurt a lot worse this time. Malen had never believed in love at first sight. Interest sure lust damn straight but love pfft that was for hopeless romantics and yet here he was truly in love and willing tobet he was going to lose it.

"I..." She started, staring up at him with those wide silver eyes. Something akin to fear and confusion was still in them and..."You've...known me...how long? I...I....I..." she was shaking a little bit, so many new emotions filling her that it quite frankly frightened the hell out of her.

Poor little Ianna, always ignored. Poor little Ianna, a tool for her own daughter with one friend and such a huge responsibility. Poor little Ianna....Cared about as more than a friend? How could that even be POSSIBLE?

"Explain."

It was the only word she could get out - but at least she wasn't rejecting the man. She did feel as if she were going to topple into the water though.

Holding Ianna tight afraid to let go of her Malen shut his eyes and cursed softly . He was scaring her which was the last thing he'd ever wanted to do. "I can't really explain Ianna all i know is that it doesn't matter that we've barely met simply the fact that during out meeting something happened, something that make me need to be around you to see you smile to hear you laugh. He paused for a moment struggling to get the words out " If , if you can't deal with that I'll leave I'll check in regularly with Kishi until she's old enough to visit on her own and you won't ever have to be near me again. Please Ianna trust me when i say i could never want to upset you like i am now." He waited for her answer ever second an infinity.

Ianna took deep breaths in order to calm herself, a technique she had taught herself to keep her from having heart attacks and panic attacks when things that were quite out of the ordinary came about to scare the living daylights out of her.

Which happened. A lot.

"Okay," Ianna started, her voice calm, her pulse normal now, "I have to admit, I've...I've felt....Well, I can't exactly EXPLAIN it. It..." Her eyes mirrored confusion again, "I like you, I think. Malen, I've never had anything like this HAPPEN to me...I don't know...."

Carrying Ianna back over to the side of the fountain her carefully placed her on the edge again. Right now he didn't feel steady enough to support her, even though he hadn't wanted to let go of her." He smiled at her " I can live with like, heck I can live with anything that isn't hate. I fell honored to be the first person you've liked Ianna and if that means taking wee baby steps in figuring out if more than like is possible so be it". She didn't hate him and so he could wait and have patience and many cold showers.

Ianna watched him quietly for a moment as she was set on the edge again, her feet giving a little kick in the water, splashing it upwards towards him. Her mouth was dry from the realization that someone liked her. It scared her.

A lot of things seemed to scare her lately.

"Malen..." she started, silver eyes looking at him, unreadable emotions, "Would you...." she blinked, trying to figure out how to phrase it, "Would you kiss me like they do in those romance novels?"

Maybe if he did it'd help her sort out her own emotions. In the books, after the kiss, the woman usually figured things out, right? Well, Ianna had never been kissed, so she must not be able to figure it out, right? Logical to her mind, anyway, though she had a feeling if she said it out loud she'd be labled a nutter.

Sucking in a deep breathe Malen just started at Ianna for a moment. she wanted him to kiss her, she only maybe liked him and wanted him to kiss her. This fact assured him of two things, one that he did not despite his previous thinking understand women ad two that Ianna really was one of a kind. Who else could capture his heart and yet be so innocent and trusting." whatever you desire" he whispered softly before moving closer ,pulling her gently to him and letting his lips caress hers. he mind went blank then lost in a sea of euphoria.of euphoria.

Silver eyes sunk closed as she felt his lips against hers, a tingle going through her spine from the contact. Something she had never felt before, something she felt as if she never wanted to stop feeling. It was positively lovely.

At the same time her emotions remained as muddled up as before, only leaving a strange floating sensation which eased her mind and told her they were supposed to be muddled.

Still, she left her lips connected to his.

Heat flowed through Malen's body as he would an arm behind Ianna's head and pulled her a bit closer deepening the kiss. If the gods he prayed to were listening they'd know he was asking time to stop forever. If he could hold Ianna and kiss her forever just like this he'd never want anything else he swore .For the first time in his life Malen's thoughts of his future with a woman were not focused on the bedroom but on how he could make her happy and keep her from ever wanting him to leave. He knew love and faith were powerful with the ability to shut off the rational mind but he didn't care. Right now it didn't matte r to him that tomorrow he could be getting death threats from some rich Mafia family because he'd locked away their prize son. It didn't matter that he had a pretty colorful past , right now nothing mattered except the fact that he was in love.

Ianna quite honestly didn't know how to respond, though the same heat filled her. Something the woman did not understand, didn't recognize. But she did try to return the kiss.

Even if she stumbled and was sure she wasn't doing a good job, it was her first kiss - so allowances could be made. Her good arm wrapped around him and she pulled herself close to him - perhaps too close. There was a sharp pain in her arm, and though she refused to call out, she did have to pull away to catch her breath.

Malen looked at her with concern and internally swore he should have been more carefully with her. still he couldn't get too mad , she'd been responding to him and so nicely even now his lips were burning from the contact." are you Ok he asked softly " his eyes still filled with concern but a grin very evident on his face.

Ianna nodded her head dumbly, breathing deeply as she tried to catch her breath and quell the searing pain in her arm, "Yeah...Yeah I'm okay...I think"

Truthfully, Ianna didn't know what she was, "I can't describe...." She started, taking yet another deep breath, "I don't know...I just...Don't know..." once more she leaned forward and kissed him, showing him just how much she didn't want the simple contact to end.

Malen let his lips brush Ianna's briefly before pulling back, all he freezing cold water in the world wasn't going to help him if this carried on. " Mm i know it's so confusing but wonderful, and I'd love to keep kissing you but if we did I'd be " He stopped to think of way to phrase it. " I'd be different more edgy and with a stronger inclination to loose control and possible hurt you and I don't want to do that, I want things to be wonderful for you always" He knew that had sounded strange and sappy but right now his body and brain were saying two different things and he had little control over either.

Ianna let out a shaky breath and looked up at him quietly, a small smile on her lips. No, she didn't understand, but she had a feeling she wasn't supposed to.

"The books always have women figuring things out and coming to conclusions when they do that," She whispered, "I'm still as confused as ever. I don't even know how to explain my feelings. Help me explain...."

She was asking for the impossible.

Malen gave a shrug and a soft smile " Epiphanies such as those in romance novels are rare my dear." He reached out and ran his fingers through her he hair craving some from of contact with her ." I can't explain it for you or I would. For me there a simply knowing deep inside that when I hold you and kiss you I feel right ,like no matter how happy anything else in life has made me you make me happier because we belong together".

"I see," she said softly, silver eyes looking up into his, "I don't understand, but maybe I'm not supposed to. Tell me more about yourself, Malen? What do you do? I mean, I must have the strangest job in all of the world."

She giggled softly and closed her eyes, resting her forehead against his, "You must make a living, no?"

Malen laughed softly she must have been distracted when he'd mentioned it the other day " I'm a bounty hunter. i go out and track down dangerous criminal for rewards. it's not the most pleasant of job but it has to be done, and on occasion i end up with a good story to tell afterwards. I'm a different person when i work cold and ruthless because sometimes i feel the need to understand my quarry in order to catch them. like all jobs it's got it's up and down sometimes i get huge rewards and life great other times nothing comes in for months and i live off my savings wondering if I'm going to have to sell my comic collection for groceries." Malen proffered to keep talk of his job lighthearted, too many relationships had been destroyed when he'd tried to explain the reasoning behind why he hunted down and sometimes killed other people.

Ianna gave a small nod of her head, "Ah. Well." she tilted her head a little bit, "Uh...You know...I have...A lot of rooms here and...Urm...." Well, Ianna seemed to be at a loss for words again, simply blushing and giving a weak shrug of her shoulders, as if to say she hoped he understood what she was saying.

His killing people didn't necessarily bother her. Some people would find her job incredibly stupid, dangerous and strange. Ianna didn't judge people for what they did to keep food on the table. She did, however, not like the thought of him having to sell things he probably loved to get food.

It was Malen's turn to blush, he hadn't meant to imply that he was often on the verge of starving or anything. On occasion he'd gone without food for a few days before breaking down and borrowing some money from Talon and on the one occasion parting with his limited edition copy of Uncanny X Men#266 the first appearance of Gambit. " Um well if you truly don't mind and you don't think Coailiann will object I'd love to live with you. I can pay some form of rent and cook so you don't have to rely on your fridge all the time." Malen was somewhat in shock even he hadn't expected thigns to move so fast and though she liked him Ianna to be willing to house him.

Ianna gave a small shrug of her shoulders, "No rent needed, Malen. I have plenty of rooms, so you can have your choice...and when Kishi emerges she can either share the nursary with Coailiann or we can get another room fixed up...It's...Really no problem."

Her face smiled, "Besides. If I want to talk to you all I gotta do is walk down the hall, right? And It'd be nice to have home made food."

Malen laughed " yes good wholesome really cooked food , put some meat on you before you turn to skin and bones." though Ianna was in no way underweight it amused Malen to tease her a bit and he knew all women appreciated comments like that. " I think it should be Coailiann's choice whether she wants to share the nursery or not, after all she was there first and the last thing we need is her and Kinship fighting." Talking to Ianna whenever he wanted would also be great they cold complain to each other about their days at work and maybe if she trusted him he could help her run the shop so she didn't always seem so tired.

"True, but Coailiann can barely string words together, let alone say if she wants to share a nursary or not...." She trailed off, hearing the little Sidhe child start to wake, "Okay, Now to figure out a way to get me over there without me falling and breaking my other arm," she smiled at him.

Malen got himself back on dry land and wrung out his braid over the fountain,he'd long since learned he was prone to getting sick when his hair got damp. Smiling at Ianna he swiftly scooped her into her arms as he had in the fountain. "I am a cute and convenient mode of transportation when so inclined" he said before kissing the top of her head. " And you'd might as well stay as clothes as you are until you're dry or there's really no point in putting on that dress so shall we go attend to the waking beauty?."

Ianna smiled at the man and closed her eyes, leaning against him for a moment, one arm snaking around him to secure herself further, the other hanging limply in the sling, "Yeah, cute and conveniant. I have a feeling you just don't want me back in the dress yet?"

Malen shrugged " Who can blame me, your a cute woman and you look just as good out of the dress as you do in it." Truthfully Malen thought Ianna beautiful no matter what she wore, he did wonder however how Coailiann was going to react to seeing them like that, not that she'd understand what was going on.

Ianna slid from his arms and moved the short distance to her daughter, picking up the Sidhe and cradling her in her...well, arm. It was hard to do it without the use of her left arm, but at least she could hold her at all, "Hello there little girl," she cooed, nuzzling at the top of her head.

Life certainly was working out for the silver haired shy woman.

Coailiann yawned sleepily and lifted a closed fist to wipe the sleep out of her green eyes, her head nuzzling at her mother quietly before she gave a whimper indicating she was hungry, "Apple."

"Mmm, seems Coailiann wants some apples."

Malen laughed " What's her favorite Granny smith, Red delicious or Mackintosh" he asked naming off three of the more popular types of apples. " As a sidhe does she prefer to eat fruit to most other foods?" Now that he was going to be living with them Malen wanted to learn as much about both Ianna and Coailiann as soon as possible.

Ianna shook her head, "Any kind of apple, a woman got her hooked on them. She hated the rice cereal and she suggested I give her some diced apples...and so she's addicted. That, and pretzals...."

Ianna turned and started towards the lobby again, expecting Malen to follow her. By the time he got there, however, she already was pulling apples from the mini fridge and Coailiann was in her high chair.

Malen who'd doubled back to retrieve Kinship's wand smiled at the site " Tsk tsk apples at least you should be able to do on your own ." he teased." As for pretzels i love them too, soft pretzels with mustard are great treats at amusement parks". Malen who was often sent on school field trips as a volunteer for another neighborhood parent loved the yearly trips to amusement parks and the often spoiled himself on those days.

"There's no food in the kitchen at the moment, haven't had time to go shopping, so the fridge will have to do for now," Ianna said, raising a brow at him, "Don't mock me, hmm?"

She brought the dish of apples to Coailiann who grabbed one rather big piece and stuck it in her mouth, gnawing on it delicately, "Mmmph!"

Ianna laughed softly, "Can I get you anything, Malen?"

Malen grinned at her "Ok I'll be nice, it's just odd for me to see such a thing it leaves me feeling i dunno replaceable like the art of cooking could be lost to a magical item the same way many people have lost the skill to write because we have computers". Malen didn't hate technology or magic especially since he did use it often in his job but he worried that sometimes humanity relied on it as bit too much for their oen good. Though, in Ianna's case what with running around after wands all the time she likely didn't have time to cook or learn too.

He thought about her question for a moment " I could go for a root beer float and a tuna fish sandwich." he replied naming off a favored semi healthy treat.

Ianna stood straight and looked at him with a look that was somewhat unreadable, "Replaceable? You're...Anything but replaceable," Ianna said softly, smiling slightly at him, "If you were replaceable I wouldn't have put myself in a position to deal with you every day."

Coailiann seemed to agree with her, showing it by offering the man a piece of half slobbered apple as Ianna moved to get him what he asked for, setting it on one of the little tables.

" Uh uh super kay you have to eat all your apple to grow up big and strong and defend the world" Malen said politely decking the girl's offer. He loved kids but he wasn't willing to eat something covered in saliva for them if it wasn't absolutely necessary.

Taking a gulp of his float Malen grinned than promptly grimaced for a moment " Mmm ice cream headache " he whimpered briefly. He loved floats more than most drinks though he had a tendency to forget the fact that consuming large amounts of ice cream at once was bad for you and your body let you know right away. " Thanks " he said to Ianna before taking a smaller sip " What are you having?" he inquired.

"Not having anything...I don't exactly eat much," the woman shrugged and watched Coailiann eat, a smile on her lips, "You're welcome...It's amazing how cute they are, isn't it? And then they grow up and you wonder what happened."

Coailiann looked curiously to Malen at refusing her gift and her lower lip jutted out to show her displeasure before she immediately stuck it all the way in her mouth and chewed on it.

Malen snickered " My twin sister grew up at like six she was so different from the rest of us so mature and responsible, I never understood her , even when I got older. Most kids though they are cute and charming and then they are teenagers and they hate you for absolutely no reason than because you're older than them which is somehow a crime and means you can't possibly know what it's like to be a teenager." Malen had stayed close to his family growing up, needing his space as teenager but depending on his mothers more than his friends.

Malen laughed at Coailiann." cute kid real cute, just try not to choke Ok?"

"My childhood wasn't the best," she said, a hint of sadness in her voice, "I certainly hope you and your family were closer. And no, I really don't want to talk about it, if you were going to ask. No offense...Just..Tis my past, that's all."

Coailiann smiled sweetly up at Malen and finished her slice of apple before starting on another one, her hand banging musically on the high chair tray.

"Come sit with me?"

Malen smiled at Coailiann " Aha a heroine and a musician maybe you can be a like superman musician by day and protector of all by night".Looking at Ianna he nodded " My family was always close and I understand the need to leave the past in the past and of course I'll sit with you."

A smile lit up her face as she scooted a bit to allow him a seat on the couch, "I'm glad your family was close," She started, thinking a moment as her head rested on his shoulder, "What are we, Malen?"

That part rather confused her - she wasn't sure WHAT they could be called.
Sitting down beside Ianna Malen put an arm around her shoulders " We are soon to be roommates, friends who like each other and after that it's up to you what else you want to call us." Malen couldn't figure out where they were actually dating or just sort of going to be living together and occasionally kissing.

"Ah," she said softly, snuggling slightly against him to make herself comfortable, eyes never quite leaving her little girl, "Sounds good. I think." her face was still written with confusion - being used to things labled neatly and whatnot. She didn't like not being able to catagorize something. Either it was or wasn't, but...She wouldn't argue. Not right now.

Not that she could think with being so close to him in either case.

Malen laughed softly " I'm certain that with time things will become clearer and then it will be easier to say what we are." Malen lived life on the principle that things flowed or they didn't he was content with the fact that he could hold her in his arms and have her rest on him. whether they were officially dating or not didn't matter so long as they were together.

Dear Journal,

I think I've officially gone insane. I've invited Malen to move in with me. AND he gave me my first kiss. I...Am rather speechless, though I feel as though I must update this thing regularly.

Aside from that, Coailiann still can't walk yet. It's making her fussy and hard to deal with, though I know she can do it and I encourage her often. She seems to reject my encouragement, though, and has decided to remain crawling - at least for now. It's been too long since she's seen her little bird friend. I really MUST talk to Patrick.

Matilda is still in a coma...I'm worried.

Ah, s**t, Coailiann decided to levitate out of the playpen. She's getting too bloody good at that - I Gotta go.

Growing Home

Ianna lounged on the couch, one small girl on her lap, clapping her hands and singing along with the sing-a-long which was on the television. It was a Disney song, one that Ianna found most annoying, but it seemed to make the little girl gleeful and happy - so she dealt with it. She had been increasingly cranky lately, being unable to stand yet, let alone walk. It seemed Coailiann was not one to take defeat well. Nonetheless, the break from her screaming and carrying on was welcome, even if that break came with what was the most repetitive and annoying song she had ever heard.

"Em Eye See, Kay Ee Why Em Oh You Ess Ee!" she sang, her little baby babble totally out of time with the music blasting from the speakers as she bobbed around on her mother's stomach, causing Ianna to look just a shade of green. Much more of it and she would end up getting sick.

Fortunately for her, the song's last notes faded and the bouncing and singing stopped, though the clapping remained a few beats later. "Happy!" Coailiann cooed, her hands clapping on either side of the silver haired woman's face, making her lips pucker up and her cheeks sink in.

Ianna laughed softly and looked up at her daughter, right into those magnificent green eyes of hers, "Happy" she confirmed, though it came out more like "hawpee" due to the state of her mouth.

Coailiann giggled gleefully again and gave another bounce, a loud "UMPH!" being the response. The child's face contorted into a look of complete confusion at the sound, "Otay?" She asked, tilting her head so her very small wisps of hair covered her forehead - not quite able to reach her eyes yet.

"Yes baby, but it makes mommy sick. Sick." She reached up and stroked Kay's hair gently, away from her eyes, "Understand?"

The little girl nodded sagely, "Tay."

Ianna's eyes lit up and she leaned upwards, dragging the little girl in her arms down so she lay with her, against her chest, "I love you, little girl. I love you so much little Kay. Do you understand love?"

"Ove!"

"Love."

Coailiann's green eyes turned upwards, "Ove." She said, looking rather confused.

"Close enough, Kay. Close enough."

Coailiann wiggled slightly from her mother's grasp and sat herself up again, staring at the now-black television screen. "Song?"

"Baby, songs are done," Ianna said, reaching up to rub at the little girl's back. She certainly hoped that the child would be satisfied with the answer rather than go back into her cranky squealing. It was rather annoying and she had just managed to get rid of her headache. Fortunately enough, Coailiann didn't argue with the fact that the songs were gone.

With the silence that followed, Ianna allowed her mind to get lost in it's own thoughts, something that had been happening more frequently. Malen was moving in soon, he had even started to pack up his things...At least, she thought he did, anyway. The thought was frightening to her - just as a lot of things had been lately. Ianna didn't take to change very well, even if she had been the one to ask him to move in.

How would everything work peacefully? Would Coailiann accept him? Would MATILDA accept him? Oh god, Matilda...what if--

She was cut off by a burst of light that filled the room, lasting only moments until it faded into nothing at all, everything normal. Everything except for Coailiann - who seemed to have grown a good few inches in height and a good few inches of that beautiful white-silver hair - which had lightened into a pure white.

"Kay...?" she whispered, slipping off the couch and crawling over to where the little girl who was sitting on the floor in the center of the rec-room, her green eyes glittering happily. It didn't take her long to realize that the sidhe had done what Matilda had - and had finally grown into a toddler.

"You did it, love," Ianna whispered, picking her up and dancing around the room, "You grew! Oh my little girl...."

Coailiann looked up at Ianna blinking, "Momma! Crying?"

Ianna noticed tears in her eyes and coughed, "Oh...Uh...No reason baby....no reason at all. Come on, lets...Let's get you to bed."

Dear Journal,

Coailiann grew into a toddler last night - it was quite sudden and unexpected...But it was wonderful! She's so beautiful, journal. Her white hair has grown to her shoulders, and she has these pretty little pink flowers in it - I don't know if they're a part of her or not but I'm not going to pull them out just in case. She also has grown a few inches, and her eyes...They're so expressive and alive.

I know she'll be able to walk soon, even if I've been saying that for a long while. She's determined, and now that she's older, I have no doubt in my mind. I'll start trying to help her again tomorrow or something. I think she's still getting used to the fact she's bigger.

Won't Malen be surprised?

February 21, 2006

Dear Journal,

With toddlerhood apparently comes the terrible twos. Coailiann does not want to share - anything - and when Malen's daughter Del so much as LOOKED at her basket of toys...She threw such a fit I had to swat her! I've never had to do that before! Malen even had to LEAVE which makes me very upset.

I miss him.

She still isn't able to walk, which frustrates her to no end. Stubborn as ever she thinks she has to do everything on her own and doesn't like asking for or needing help. I hope that changes because in life you can't do it all yourself. You have to take in order to give or your life will be very unbalanced.

I don't want that for my daughter.

Even if she can't walk she has absolutely no problems being mobile. She can crawl like a demon and her levitation helps her glide faster than crawling would allow. Thankfully she can't do it long or I would never catch her in this large place.

I hope this is just a phase. I can see now why my mother resented me. If she were still alive she'd be laughing at me because this is certainly the best revenge.

The normally quiet wand shoppe was alive with the squalling cry of a baby - or three. Coailiann was complaining by way of a loud wail at the fact her mother's attention was taken by the two babies Matilda had dropped off. She had been having problems with only DEL there.

But two more little babe-things? She wasn't handling that well at all.

Of course, her crying had triggered the boy child's loud, screaming personality.

Both children were driving Ianna on the verge of insanity and only the quiet, more reserved girl infant was holding that one strand. If SHE started to squall, it was certain that she would lose it.

"Please be quiet," she whispered, picking up the boy in her arms and pacing back and forth. This didn't fair well with the toddler sidhe and she threw a block, hitting Ianna in her shin.

"OW ******** that the twins' guardian would hurry up and make their appearance. She had a hard enough time with her toddler.

Indu was not happy. Not at all.

She was outside, it was cold, and she didn't have a reason to be. Or, at least, that's what the logical part of her mind said. But her body? Her body was making her walk to this place. The redhead had no clue as to where she was heading, or why, just that she knew she needed to be there. She'd learned to cooperate with these urges, but they really were starting to piss her off. Between freaky-deaky s**t, and all her kids, she wasn't getting ANY work done. This was insane.

The young woman almost tripped when she realized her body had jerked to a halt, and she looked around bewildered, eyes lighting on a building, and ears perking at the sound of screaming. Baby screaming.

"What the ******** was she doing HERE? It looked like some sort of store, and it looked open, so Indu tried the door, somewhat relieved to find it unlocked, and took a wary step inside, maroon eyes scanning the room for danger.

"Hullo?"

Ianna had just been able to calm the boy child down, setting him down beside his sister in the little bassonet she had made Matilda buy her. There was no way in hell any of the children's expenses were coming out of her sparse savings.

The sound of the woman's voice caused the more reserved girl to look her green eyes to the door and give a cross between a murmur, giggle and a babble. Ianna's silver eyes followed hers and she smiled brightly.

GUARDIAN! Bells went off in her head - Matilda's doing. No more guessing on her part now that her daughter was awake.

"Oh! Hello! Welcome to Ghosts of the Past!"

Coailiann looked to the redhead and made a face. Maybe SHE would give her attention. The toddler crawled her way over and immediately latched herself to her leg, "Hiiiiii!"

Indu stared at the woman with silver eyes for a long second before opening her mouth to reply, obviously irritated, and blaming the woman for her presence here.

"What the--"

Her gaze flicked down to Coailiann, and instantly lit up, a small, reluctant grin appearing on her face. Indu hated people. Loved kids. Even if she tried to hide it.

"Oh my ********, aren't you just gorgeous?"

Coailiann's face lit up, she was getting attention! "********! ******** ******** ******** ********!" she bounced on her ankle, giving a little nuzzle to the woman. Her pure white hair falling over her cherubic little face.

Ianna groaned, "There you got her started again. No, Coailiann. No saying that word..." she shook her head and sighed, closing her eyes, "You like kids, then?"

God she hoped so. Because she was going to be getting two of them.

And she had a feeling one of them would bite her.

Absent-mindedly petting the toddler's hair, Indu's red eyes narrowed suspiciously on Ianna and she scowled.

"No, I don't. Why?"

And why was she here? This had better not be a recreation of the Asper fiasco. Indu had a gigantic family already... Still... Her gaze flicked over to the babies, and landed on Levis, both female's eyes meeting. Was that for her? So cute. And serious!

"... Coailiann, hmm...? That's a pretty name."

"Mmm, well, you better. Come here, please? I need you to look at something." she moved behind her desk and picked up a large, antique looking leather bound book trimmed in what looked to be pure gold.

A valuble thing it was.

For more than one reason.

Coailiann looked up at the woman and tried to stand up, shaking on her little legs. It was hard for her to stand, she couldn't even walk yet. Which was a rather scary thing considering her age.

"Ook! Touch Ook!" she nodded her head vigerously, knowing the drill. She wanted those crying things GONE.

Was it crazy to say that Indu DIDN'T feel any inclination to touch the book? No. It was rather sane. And therefore, Indu didn't have that reaction. Instead, she tilted her head curiously to one side, and carefully detached Coailiann from her leg before strolling over to the woman.

"What th' ******** is that?"

Her reached her left hand out to touch the binding on the thing, both brows sky-high.

"It's...Well...You'll see." Ianna said softly, smiling a bit. Coailiann pouted at being let go of but...oh well.

The minute the woman would touch the book, the cover would fly open, an invisible wind winding through the pages and blowing them rapidly open until it landed, quite suddenly, on a well-worn page. On the page, rather than the usual wand sketch was a picture of two children, clinging to a large wand with two wings.

Under the picture read:

"Unknown. Wand ID 00016. TWO Souls have been trapped within the confines of the wand. Congratulations, you have become the next guardian to take on the task of raising them from infancy to greatness. We, Ianna and I, have the upmost faith in you to complete your task dutifully. Best of luck,

Matilda."

Ianna smiled a little bit, "Miss...." she paused, waiting for the feed from Matilda, "Indu, is it? Odd name...Anyway, you're a mother. And these two..." she indicated to the now settled down children, "Are your twins."

Indu's eyes widened momentarily, before she snatched her hand back and folded her arms across her chest grumpily.

"Hell ******** no."

Her twins had only JUST grown past being babies! She didn't need anymore, dammit! Still... Her gaze was drawn once more to the crib, and her face softened.

"... Is there anyone else who can take them in...?"

If not...

Ianna took a deep breath and shook her head, "No. You see, these children are special. They were here in a previous life, and they died horribly. Wrongfully. They were given this second chance...And they chose you. I don't know how or why the souls choose, but only the guardian can touch the book and open it. And they can only see that one page in the book."

She smiled a little bit and indicated to Coailiann, "Got her that way. And my first daughter, Matilda, that way. Though she's the one that gave them this second chance. You're...Their chance."

Goddammit.

Indu couldn't turn the kids down now, and let out a resignated sigh before nodding, more than a little irritated with herself. No more listening to weird urges to walk the streets. Nuh-uh, no way.

"Alright then, I'll take them. Do they have names...?"

Ianna shook her head, "No. Figured the guardian's going to be stuck with 'em for longer than me so...You have the honor of naming them." at that, the boy opened one of his eyes and looked intently at Indu, giving almost a malicious little smile.

Ianna shuddered, "Their personlities are contrasting. The darker looking one is actually a sweetheart."

Indu caught the look and sent the boy a dark one back, words flying from her mouth before she thought about it.

"Don't you DARE give me that look, Malum Reever!"

Well, one was named... That left... Indu blinked and looked at the girl, the one with the shy smile, and grinned.

"And you're Levis, aren't you?"

Lovely names. Fitting, she supposed, "Nice choice," Ianna commented, giving a soft laugh. Best names came from impromptu yelling, she had learned at times.

"Anyway...There's one more thing to show you. If you wanna pick up your children and follow me..." she trailed off and went to pick up her own daughter, walking towards the door to the right of her desk, "This way."

Indu lifted the children one by one, situating Levis on her hip, and letting her cling as she picked up her brother. He was a rather suspicious little thing, those angelic looks opposing the evil glint in his eyes. Oh goodie.

"Uhm, sure, I'll be right there..."

"Okay dokie," Ianna said, travelling through the door and into the large lobby.

As they entered the main lobby Via the portal connecting the shoppe and the headquarters, the first thing they would notice is the vast...largeness...of it. The high ceilings, edged with gold, the large chandeliers dripping with crystals, the smooth white tile-floors, colorful rugs, and beautiful paintings.

To the left was a large recreational area complete with a large flat-screen television, several rows of various games, movies, video game systems and books. There was a basket of toys in the corner, full of plushies, dolls, cards and various other objects which would appeal to most ages. Included in the area were several comfy looking couches and plush chairs just made for sitting, lounging or bouncing in. It seemed to be heaven on a fluffy carpet. It even had a foos-ball table and an air-hockey table....and for the slightly more food-minded GoTP, a mini fridge always full.

To the right was a large elaborate counter, which seemed to have a force-field of some sort around it, keeping anyone who was not Ianna or Matilda from going behind it. On the counter lay a roster with the names of all the Ghostly children and their guardians, and an appointment book.

From there, it branched off into halls with rows and rows of rooms. Some were storage, some were guest rooms, some were bathrooms, and one very large and ornate door to the end of the hall led to the gardens. "Welcome to Headquarters, Indu, You're welcome here at any time. Just mind the toys with the kids. Coailiann's at the "Touch and I will kill you" stage...Unfortunately."

Indu didn't seem TOO impressed with the headquarters as she was used to things like this by now, and simply nodded, glancing around briefly.

"So, is this what you wanted t--AURGH! FUUUCK!"

A glance down showed Malum with his tiny teeth in Indu's shoulder. The redhead gritted her teeth, a growl rumbling in her throat, and Levis gave her a worried glance.

"You little..."

Her eyes narrowed and her jaw clentched as she spoke in a low, furious tone.

"I WILL leave you here, if you pull that s**t again, Malum."

"Yeah, this is what I wanted to show you. Most of the other guardians mull around here, though it's quiet today. We have a training room and a library and a very very large garden in the back..." she smiled a bit, then blinked.

Had the boy just bit her? Ianna had to bite back laughter - though Coailiann was giggling gleefully, "BITE!"

Malum's eyes twinkled wickedly at earning laughter as a response, and even though Levis made a discouraging sound, he clicked his teeth at Indu in response, making the redhead turn a dangerous shade of red.

"Okay, Mal. I can play that game too. How about an eye for an eye?"

Indu barred her own teeth, revealing much larger, and sharper ones than the boy had, and obviously planning on biting him back. In the face of a stronger enemy, Malum lost his grin quickly. Levis giggled.

"That's what I thought."

Ianna smirked a little bit, "Interesting way of parenting. At least it makes 'em stop."

Coailiann giggled again and wiggled, "DOWN! DOWN!" she bit at Ianna - mimicking the little boy. Ianna's eyes widened and she yelped, almost dropping the white haired toddler, falling back on the plush couch.

"Coailiann! No!"

The green-eyed little girl looked up at her mommy, "Nummy!"

Ianna glared...and Coailiann shrunk back, "Sowwy..."

Levis seemed to find all this very amusing, and now, so did Indu. Hah. Malum was obviously going to be getting people to copy him a lot in the future. The redhead stepped forward and promptly dropped Malum the short distance to the couch, which he scowled at her for, surprisingly matching her most common expression. Both Indu and Levis raised both eyebrows, also with identical expressions. Look at the happy family!

Levis was set down more gently, and the girl gave Coailiann as sweet, if shy smile, her brother babbling loudly between them.

"Tch. Some of them need more encouragement than others."

"I suppose. Coailiann is a rebel, mark my words. I dread when she actually learns how to walk...." Ianna settled herself on the couch and set the toddler down, who immediately crawled back onto the couch to poke at the babies.

Poke.

Poke.

"Hiiiiiii!"

Green eyes looked curiously at them and blinked, "Hihihihihihihi!"

Would they talk back?

Malum looked more than a little annoyed, and reached out a tiny hand to push Coailiann's forehead, trying to shove her away.

Levis' brows knit together, and she reached out to touch her brother's elbow.

"Nuh-uh!"

The angelic boy wrinkled his nose distastefully and glared at the pale-haired toddler, but stopped pushing her. Levis, obviously the one who was more mentally developed, if less physical, shot Coailiann another shy glance.

"Ai."

Coailiann's brow furrowed at being pushed and clenched her little fists, "Bad! BAD BABETING!" she clenched her little fists, obviously about to hurt the little thing. However when he stopped, her green eyes glittering brightly as she looked at the little girl.

"Hi!" she smiled brightly and crawled right over Malum, sitting half on him and waving to Levis.

She didn't like the little boy. Not only did he steal attention from her but...HE PUSHED HER! THE NERVE!

Levis colored slightly at the attention, not used to, or particularly fond of, it and her smile grew as she copied the older girl's motion, wiggling her fingers.

Malum did NOT like this. Attention was supposed to be on HIM, and MAYBE Levis, but not ANYONE else. Especially Levis' attention! It should ALWAYS be on HIM!

The little boy pushed Coailiann's body off of him, in Levis' direction, and scowled darkly, his pale face reddening in anger.

Coailiann barely managed to brace herself not to fall on Levis - and then her arms decided to give out and she fell atop of her, "EEEE!!!!" she didn't like being pushed, and instantly her legs kicked backwards in a frustrated motion, kicking Malum off the couch and onto the plush carpet.

"BAD!" she screeched and rolled off Levis, curling up.

Ianna raised a brow, "We have hellions on our hands..."

Indu simply folded her arms across her chest, looking highly amused.

"I suppose. I've got worse at home so..."

She shrugged. The twins seemed pretty simple to her.

Levis let out a strangled cry as she was fallen on, and squeezed her eyes shut until Coailiann rolled off her. She didn't like surprise touches.

"Mmmmnnn!"

Malum hit the floor with a thud, and growled, pushing himself back into a sitting position. Until he saw that Coailiann had fallen on his Levis.

"NAHHOW!"

The little boy crawled, and tried to pull himself back up onto the couch, but only fell back down onto his diapered butt.

"Uhhhhh...Maybe we should seperate them before they kill eachother...." Ianna murmured, picking up Coailiann in her arms - taking her way out of reach from the angry little boy, "Besides, I'm sure you have a lot of bonding to do with them...No? Maybe you can come back in a bit and meet the other guardians..."

She smiled a little bit and Coailiann scowled darkly at Malum, levitating one of the apples on the desk towards him, intent on bonking him in the head, "KILL!"

Ianna blinked, "COAILIANN UMBRIDGE!"

The apple dropped - right on Malum's head.

Mal let out a roar as the apple bonked him, and the lights in the room flickered, causing Levis to frown slightly. She thought Coailiann was nice, but she couldn't hurt her Malum. Levi frowned, brows knit together, and let out a shrill, upset cry, rare from a babe as silent as she. She didn't like them hurting each other.

"NO URRCHUTHER!"

Malum turned wide eyes to his twin, and shut up, halting his attempts at retribution.

Indu laughed, getting to her feet and shaking her head.

"At least Levis can control him. Sort of."

Coailiann blinked at the lights flickering and harumphed. Show off. She could show off too!

Several toys raised from the basket and started dancing around in the air, making a pretty little display. Unfortunately, her powers were limited and after a few moments in the air fell lifelessly to the ground with soft thumps.

Satisfied, the white-haired green-eyed sidhe smiled and stuck her thumb in her mouth, "MMmph!"

Ianna rolled her eyes and shook her head, "Suppose so."

Malum was impressed, actually, and forgot his anger to oogle the toys. He made grabby hands toward Coailiann, wanting her to be put back on the ground so he could take charge of the situation, and do his best to 'play nicely.' He didn't want the stupid woman holding her to make her go away, not until she did the trick again.

Levis' eyes were round too, and she looked a little awestruck, clearly starting to look up to the toddler. Pretty and Powerful. Oh yeah, baby. Or... Toddler.

Indu snickered, and pointed.

"Oh look, it's play nice time. I think Malum's found something he wants."

Ianna weighed the situation carefully. Coailiann was unpredictable and while she obviously looked pleased...Her moods shifted almost as often as the damned wind.

And obviously, Malum wanted her to be down by him.

With a resigned sigh, Ianna set the toddler down, "Play. Nice. Or no apples."

Green eyes went wide. No apples?! NO APPLES!? That was TORTURE! The little toddler nodded her head in agreement and reached out to touch Malum.

If he was going to be nice she would be too.

Malum locked the fingers of one of his hands with Coailiann's, giving Indu and Ianna an OVERLY innocent grin, one that made Indu shoot him a dark look, as if to dare him to pull a trick. Malum actually laughed, eyes twinkling wickedly.

Levis wanted to play too! The girl made a few noises, catching the redhead's attention, and the woman leaned over to snag that baby, setting her next to the more... Outgoing... Children.

"Nih pway."

Levis spoke solemnly, as if laying down a law, and patted the other children's hands.

Coailiann gave a little squeeze....and then brought his hand into her mouth and nibbled playfully, giving little gnaws. It wouldn't hurt - but she did like chewing on things, "Mmmyum!" she mumbled, speech garbled by the fingers in her mouth.

Ianna coughed, "Yeahhh...I think I have a cannibal on my hands."

Coailiann's attention was pulled to Levis and she mumbled a soft "Hi" around Malum's digits.

Malum didn't seem to mind the gnawing, after all, he was rather used to it. Most babies, and toddlers, did it, and since he was so young, he didn't think much of it. Felt sort of good, actually. Warm.

Levis beamed to see the two being friendly, and made her own soft hello before reaching out for one of Coailiann's toys. She paused just before touching it, and showing a strange consideration for a baby, raised both brows.

"Lee pway?"

Indu shrugged, and peered closely at the children.

"Naww, I've got two cannibals at home, and they don't act like her."

Nice family the twins were entering.

Ianna's eyebrow raised, "Oh really? That's...interesting." She shook her head a little and watched the children.

Coailiann's eyes narrowed slightly. She did NOT like to share....but since she had asked and all that good stuff, she supposed she was in charge and still Super Kay, like her daddy thing put it, and nodded, "Kay"

It was still muffled, her mouth gnawing on Malum's fingers as she scooted closer, giggling.

Levis beamed, her smile lighting up her otherwise dark features, and she picked up the toy, squeezing it against her small body tightly. Coailiann was so NICE!

Malum could feel the giggles through his hand, and started laughing himself, involuntarily. The little angel was ticklish, naturally. Still, he'd noticed the eye narrowing and was realizing that the pale-haired girl was a lot like him. And pretty. That was a requirement. Mal didn't like ugly people.

"Kay pweh-ee."

Coailiann giggled again and removed his fingers from her mouth, scooting herself closer to him so she could rest her head against him. She was tired.

Levitating things took a lot out of the little girl and she had levitated herself and objects too much today, "Ankee." she said softly, closing her brilliant green eyes - but only for a moment.

Her hawk eyes silently watched Levis. If she hurt her stuff she'd die.

Malum wasn't exactly the most snuggly of infants, but he really didn't mind the closeness with Coailiann, most likely because she was pretty, and had impressed him already today. Maybe he'd be mean to her next time he saw her. Instead, the boy patted her hair with his dry hand, his equally green eyes on his sister too.

Levis was a gentle gal, and unlike her twin, felt no urge to tear open people's toys. Lifting it, she examined it carefully. A large teddy. The girl hugged it close then, quiet glee on her face, and rested her tiny body on it for support as she lifted her eyes to stare back at her brother, almost as if they were communicating.

"Oh geeze. Freaky twin thing. Mmmn. I suppose I should scram soon, huh? Looks like your brat is getting sleepy."

"Yeah, she's just a toddler and her using her powers so much really doesn't do much for her energy reserves..." Ianna smiled a little bit and bent down, picking the little Sidhe up again - much to her dismay.

The little girl gave a loud wail and reached out for Malum. Definitely unpredictable. One moment she hated him. The next, she loved him. What the hell was wrong with the fairy babe.

"MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ianna winced, "******** hell."

Malum immediantly shot his hands out to grab onto Coailiann's and scowled darkly up at Ianna.

"ARR KAY!"

Everything was 'ours' never 'his' or Levi's. Levis dropped the toy in a spitsecond, and grabbed onto Kay's clothes, also trying to assist her brother in claiming their new friend.

"ARRZ!"

Indu laughed her a** off, not moving from the couch. Some mad parenting skills, Ianna seemed to have.

Coailiann screeched along with the two of them and immediately tried to levitate out of her mother's arms. It didn't work, and she stopped crying then. She was exhausted and sent a look to the two, green eyes revealing her weariness.

She didn't want to go though, "Nogo..." she whispered, weakly clinging to the kid's hands.

Ianna sighed, "It's time for bed, baby."

Coailiann whimpered and gave up, too tired to fight anymore, "No go..."

Sensing that the battle had been lost, Levis let go, leaning back sadly and holding out the older girl's teddy to return it. Malum's scowl grew darker and he squeezed her hands before letting go, his pout petulant.

"Mal'eee Kay 'ooon."

He was sure of it, simply because he'd throw fits until he got his way.

Indu stood now, squatting down beside the twins, ready to pick them up once they'd finished their goodbyes.

Ianna took the bear for Kay and put it in her arms. At once the little girl clung to it and stuck her thumb into her mouth sullenly. She didn't want to go...but she was so very tired.

"Well, that was entertaining...It was nice meeting you, Indu. Take good care of the hellion," her eyes went to Malum, "You'll need all the luck you can get, I think."

Indu nodded, scooping both children into her arms. Levis cuddled against her, and Malum scowled, but didn't fight as she shifted them to more comfortable positions.

"Mmmn. See you later... Ianna?"

Yeah, that was her name. The redhead went the way she'd come; walking through the shop out onto the streets and taking the twins home to meet their large, eccentric family.

"Yeah! It's called 'water', Yashi. You need yourself some physical training - you're getting chubby," Said the man who looked so thin he was bordering on anorexic.

Yashima merely gave his adopted father a Look that he would later perfect in life - a droll, unamused expression of 'How ******** stupid are you?'. The child was currently being held by that not too impressive black man, being carted through the gardens.

He remembered being there some time before...when he was smaller. Younger. Less to remember. But this time, he could do things, like hold his head up, like splash his arms--!!

He was a big boy now!

Ianna was sitting in her hammock, keeping an ever-watchful eye on the splashing Coailiann who was sitting in the center, on a little inflateable chair, floating over the water. Ianna didn't quite trust her without the floating devices - including the floaties on her arms.

"Trick! Yashiiiii!"

That squeel was enough to cause Ianna to fall out of her hammock in surprise, "OW! Coailiann!"

Okay - she hadn't been expecting visitors. Or the loud noise from her daughter.

"What's this? Princess is swimming?" His eyebrows hitched, lips peeling into a grin once more. "Hey there, Ianna. How're you?"

Yashima was more distracted by the squeal, bare arms waving at Coailiann with a little greeting. He was dressed in a sleeveless silken shirt with three frog-ties, on the right side, and his diaper.

Girlthing. Fat? The question was directed to the floaties, a little confused expression to his face, wriggling just slightly.

Coailiann gave him an indignant look. Fat? I not fat. Air-things. Helps not sink

She nodded her head. How daaare he call her fat! She was pretty, like all princesses should be! Right? Right.

Ianna chuckled softly, "I wonder what Yashi told her to make him earn that look...What brings you here, Patrick, and how are you doing?" she offered him a smile as she crawled back into her hammock.

Not sink...water. Obviously, Yashima hadn't grasped the concept that no, he was NOT Jesus. He didn't sink in bathtub water! It floated around him. Those wide little dishes of gold continued to watch the Princess, even as Patrick moved to sit on the edge of the fountian.

Yashi settled into his fathers waist, leaning over slightly to splash at the water with the edges of his fingers.

"I dunno. He doesn't seem like the most.. slick guy ever." he grinned, shoulders rising in a shrug. Iannas question brought heat to his cheeks and he shrugged once more. "Nothing much. Visiting again? I like to visit... So does Yashi. I'm alright. How're you?"

Yes. Sink. Coailiann said softly, paddling herself over to Patrick and Yashima happily, "Water good! Come in!" she smiled charmingly at the dark man and light fox.

Ianna snuggled into the netting of the hammock and yawned, "I'm glad you like to visit. Coailiann needs to have human interaction. I'm good, tired...Matilda's been muttering about more wands coming soon, which I really hope is just a feeling and not a reality. Too tired to get more....How's things with Mordread and the rest of the family?"

No sink, He returned stubbornly, wriggling slightly with a quiet noise. Patrick arched his eyebrow at the demand of the little toddler, glancing down at Yashima. The fox met his gaze, nose wrinkling up slightly.

Patrick shrugged, stripping off Yashimas diaper and his shirt. He squeaked as babies were prone to, grabbing his tail and pulling it up between his legs, blocking the baby-goods. His father laughed, tickling at the boys stomach. "You'll be fine, yashi! Just don't pee or anything."

No pee Yashima agreed, nodding firmly at his father, small feet kicking at the water where his father was holding him above it. "Things with Mordread are...good. Really good. Infact, we're stocking up on more kids!"

....he didn't sound very..enthusiastic about that part...

YES sink Coailiann insisted, just as stubbornly. She knew from experiance and while the fountain usually adjusted based on the need of the user...He -would- sink since SHE was the primary user. And she wanted it deeper so she could float on her floaty-thing.

"Oh? More kids? Where did these pop up from, flowers?" she chuckled softly as she watched the children, "You two are going to need a growing house, seriously...I could talk to Matilda about it, if you'd like..."

It was then that the tone of voice hit her, "Patrick, what's wrong?"

Yashima just kept a tight grip on his tail to gaurd his more softer bits, toes curling, flexing and kicking at the water, secretly delighting in the movements and the noises it made.

Water! The boy gleed, not answering her little mental noise, ears fluffed up and edged foreward. Then he paused, peeking up at her curiously. Met boy!

Patrick shrugged, dipping the estatic fox-baby into the water up to his knees. Amidst Yashimas squeaks of enjoyment, he responded to the older woman, face twisting up slightly. "A peep and another ******** Iamel, actually. He's taken a liking to my woodpecker but..." A shrug once more, "I think I might be pregnant. I'm not sure yet but.."

Mal? Met too. Hit with apple. Tastes good. Coailiann forgot their little fight, for the moment, and splashed at her friend with the cool water. Coailiann loved water and everything to do with nature, really. And now that she had a friend AND water? She was one happy little princess.

"Even I've taken a liking to your woodpecker, Patrick. He's a sweetheart, when he actually likes you. And...A peep? Huh wait a s--" her eyes widened as she heard the 'p' word, "Pregnant? IS there something you haven't told me, dear one? Last I checked men can't get pregnant...."

That was a shock to the silver-haired woman's system, that was for sure.

Hissed at him. There was a bit of smug joy in that little foxes mind - he was rather proud of his little show of defiance to another being. It was sad that he could be so joyful over showing a bit of his spine.

Leaving one hand to hold his tail up, the other went to splash at the water with a squeak of pleasure. Water!

Patrick smiled bashfully, head ducking slightly to let some hair obscure his face. "Yeah. Turns out my parents have been lying to me about an ancestor that made it very, very possible for me to get pregnant. But since I have so much human and Mordie isnt even full human, it can be doubtful but.."

"Well, do you have any symptoms, Patrick?" Ianna had never been pregnant - and doubted she ever would, but she DID know the symptoms. She was a book worm, after all.

Good. Bite. Tastes good. Jerk, but I like. Coailiann really did like Malum. For now, anyway. If he pushed her again or made her angry he'd certainly get another apple to the back of the head. She would make sure of that.

A gleeful giggle passed through her and she splashed at him, wobbling a little on the inflatable chair.

"Uhm..." He tapered off for a moment, shrugging a little bit, embaressed. "I've begun craving meat? I haven't eaten it since I was thirteen but...Mordies part white panther I think?"

Another hesitation from the dark man, nose crinkling as he watched the child splash around. "I haven't thrown up or gained weight or anything, though..My nipples hurt, but that's because the ******** BIT them during sex."

Yashima squeaked again with a cheerful little giggle, splashing back at her. He wasn't wobbling, but that tail sure was! Bit sister. Shii hissed.

"I think you're making excuses over the nipples if it was over a day or two ago that it happened. Any fatigue? Feeling the need to go to the bathroom more than usual?" she raised a brow a little bit, pushing herself to swing between the trees.

It really wasn't any of her business, but Patrick was a friend. And she was concerned over him - especially if he wasn't happy.

Coailiann gave another giggle and reached out to pet his tail gently, fingers slowly rubbing through the blue fur gently - and then she cupped one hand and splashed water ALL over his tail.

"Well, there's METAL going through my nipples. They're always a little sore..specially if it's cool out." He grinned again, shrugigng once more...he found himself doing that more and more. "Yeah, there's fatigue. I have six or something kids to run after and.. I'm always tired. We both are."

His eyebrows knitted up together, shooting Ianna a distressed look. "I don't want to be pregnant, Ianna. I don't think I am.. I mean.. I mean that blood is so diluted that... I just.."

Yashima stared at Coailiann, stared down at his tail... His head rose once more to stare at the girl... And then his eyes filled with tears, shoulders hunching as the now-sopping wet fox kit began to bawl his eyes out.

Coailiann looked rather surprised at the crying fox and her own green eyes watered, Wha...? She was so confused. Coailiann wasn't supposed to be confused! She was supposed to know everything! All she did was splash his tail...

Ianna laughed softly, "Yeah, you do have your hands full, Patrick, but did you think of what being pregnant really means, my friend? Call me an over-sap romantic, but isn't it just an end result of how much you and Mordread mean to eachother? If you're pregnant it's a part of each of you. Nothing can be more precious than that, can it?"

Yashima continued to bawl, hiccuping and hugging his wet tail closer, breath hitching. T-Taaaaaaaail! He sobbed mentally, petting at the damp, unfluffy fur. U-u-ugllly...n-not...not...not p-pretttttttyyyy...

Yeah. He liked being pretty. ******** you all.

Patrick just shook his head, scowling slightly. "I don't care! I don't want to be pregnant - I'm gay! I'm a man! Biologically, we should NOT have sprogglets!" His voice was a huff, scowling slightly. "I mean.. Mordread's probably gonna be thrilled but how the hell am I going to pop one out?!"

Ianna rolled her eyes, "C-section, lovvie. And really, what if you are, what are you going to do about it? I hope abortion hasn't even CROSSED your mind, there..."

Coailiann stared at Yashima and splashed him again, Stop, pretty fox. Very pretty. Stop, hurt ears. her hands moved upwards to clamp down, trying to drown out some of the sobs.

His eyes narrowed at that, "I am a scientest. I study life. WHY does everyone automatically assume that I'm looking for a damn abortion?! If I wanted kids to die, I wouldn't have adopted Lehela or Akilah - the most bite-happy spawn I have. Gods. Do I look like the type to scramble up cells in my abdomen and have them sucked out for the pure pleasure of it?!"

Yashima hiccuped and curled himself up into a little ball, hugging his tail close to his chest with a sniffle. N-no! No p-p-pretty! Wet. Ugly! Fl-flat no fluffy! He hiccuped but indeed stopped his tears, simply staring at the sidhe with watery eyes.

"Moodswing, check...Patrick, calm down, it was a simple question. I wasn't trying to piss you off, jeeze...." Ianna certainly wasn't used to irrational pregnant people. Especially males - but she wouldn't show it, she'd simply give him a forced smile.

Coailiann blinked, Wet. Pretty. No ugly. Pretty. Coailiann just didn't understand why Yashima was so upset over water touching his tail. It looked fine to her, and she was piiiicky.

She got another irritated look from him at that, full lips pressing into a firm line with a grumble. "It's just..that was the first thing Mordread asked me too. Do I seem like the type of person to kill something growing in me? IF I'm pregnant.."

"Fwhat." His voice was a soft sniffle, diminutive and tiny. Flat. His furr was flat. His tail being flat meant it was ugly. Yashima nuzzled into his tail, combing his chubby baby fingers through the slowly fluffing up tail. He squeaked. No flat?

Girlthing Coailiann teased and simply slipped into the water off her floating device, sinking for a moment before popping back up due to her floaties. Her entire head was dripping and her hair was plastered to her face. Coailiann, instead of whining, beamed, "Pretty Kay?"

Ianna sighed softly, "No, Patrick, but a lot of people aren't that kind of person and do it anyway because it's not the right path for them to have a child. And with, what, eight of yours? I was just asking. I didn't mean offense."

Perhaps she wasn't as good as she thought about talking to people.

Yashima stared at the little wet girl for a long moment, head tilting to the side. Slowly, slowly, he peeled one hand off of his slowly-drying tail, fingers moving to give the top of her head a petpetpet! Never ugly Kay. He didn't know the word 'always' - nothing was 'always'. But Kay? Kay was never ugly. Never never.

The dark man sighed, head shaking. "No, sorry. I'm just being a b***h.. It just pisses me off that the first thing people think is that because it's strange, I'm going to abort the little brat." His nose crinkled, glancing up at her.

"So. I met the destructo-twins. The boy almost whacked Yashi across his pretty little face."

"Malum's a little trouble maker. Levis is a sweetheart. Coailiann seems to be happy with gnawing on Malum. Not so big on the sharing..." she chose to gloss over the pregnancy topic. It wasn't going anywhere.

Yashi never ugly, too Coailiann promised, her green eyes sparkling as she gave a little bounce in the water the best she could considering she couldn't touch the bottom of the fountain. She had spoiled her nice little dry adventure to prove that point.

Yashi better appriciate that!

He laughed, head shaking slightly with a snicker. "Malum was adorable. Levis... Well-wait! That's what I came here to tell you!" He nodded quickly, twisting closer to her again. "Okay, we know that Yashima usually doesn't like chicks, right? I mean... he even squirms around Coailiann... But Levis, the little sweetiepie? She was totally digging on him and he actually let her pet at his ears."

He beamed at that little compliement, hugging his tail close to himself. That fist was once more shoved into his mouth and sucked upon. See? Kay no sink

Floaties. Air helps me stay. She WAS right. Yashi would sink - he didn't have the Princess Jasmine-covered floaties around his arms like she did. Yes. Coailiann liked Disney. Go figure.

"Well, that's nice. At least Yashima's getting more friends. Malum and Coailiann and Levis got off to a slightly rough start. But Coailiann ACTUALLY shared her toys with Lee, which really surprised me."

Coailiann was still in the "You touch my s**t and die" stage. Not exactly a fun stage for anyone around her.

No sink, He grumbled stubbornly. Oh, Coailiann was right...but he refused to admit it, Float water. Nod nod nod...and then his head jerked towards his father. Patrick had ceased conversation and was currently holding his abdomen with a queer look on his face.

"I..s**t. I think we better head home, Ianna.." As it was, he was only holding his son up with one hand, as he was clutching his stomach. "I think I need to lie down or...something equally as peaceful."

Daddy?

As always, Kierla attracted several boggling glances from the passerbyers she was passing by - although most of the strange looks were now directed at something else: a bizarre floating lump of pinkish mist, carrying a wand...

But she paid the curious looks no heed, making a beeline for a place where she hoped people who understood her predicament would be: GotP HQ.

Poor Kierla! Patrick had JUST arrived, two seconds before her, to try and show off his newly grown spawn to Ianna and Coailiann. They had yet to show their pretty faces, however.

The dark man was sitting in the backroom, on a couch, with the toddler on his lap. Yashima was holding his wand firmly in that one hand, the other hand tugging gently at patricks labret piercing. "Tousan," He burbled hapily, little pierced ears arched foreward. "Tousan~"

Ahhh. There was someone here, thank the gods. A man, and a child. And a wand.

Eh! Could children be wand guardians? Kierla wondered, not connecting A to B. Or perhaps it was the man who was the guardian, and he was simply letting the child play with it. Kierla herself wouldn't have entrusted such a precious object to anyone, but each to his own...

Shuffling her feet and giving a tiny wave, she put on her best smile (mrff, this was hard stuff!) and called, "Hello there!" The words sounded cheesy coming from her mouth.

Patrick glanced up and he let himself smile up at the girl. Both he and Yashima had a shared disinterest in women but patrick was better at being nice to the females then his son. At that moment, yashima whimpered and shook his wand at the girl.

So far, the only word he knew (or would say outloud) was 'tousan' and he had NO CLUE what that meant. Patrick just stroked at the white and gold hair, grinning at the littler girl still. "Hello there! Wand owner?"

"Yes." Kierla nodded curtly, then attempted an indulgent smile at the kid; her sister had often berated her for making children cry by frowning too much. Weird creatures, those midgets are.

The smile actually came out more like a grimace. No wonder she made little kids cry, especially with those scary eyes.

"So. Ah - are you one too?" Kierla asked, gesturing toward the wand the fox-kid held. "When did you get it?"

"Sure am," He agreed, bouncing the little demon on his knee. It didn't quiet Yashimas whimpering, the small boy clutching his wand to his chest almost protectively. "Sorry about him... he's not a fan of girls."

A sheepish smile and a soothing kiss pressed to Yashimas hair. "Mmm.. I got Yashi back in January? Sometime like that. I'm glad he's a kid now, though, not just a wand."

"Coailiann..." Came Ianna's 'patient' voice. It was the voice she used to sound as if she was being patient rather than about ready to throw an apple at her toddler.

Coailiann was sitting, quite stubbornly, in the middle of the hallway. Her arms were crossed over her chest, her green eyes hard, "NO! NO NO NO!"

The silver haired woman brushed her hand through her hair, clutching at the strands, "Kay, honey, I know you're --" she was cut off by one of the large paintings being thrown from the wall, "******** HELL!"

Coailiann giggled.

"It is fine," Kierla assured him. Children really are strange.

The next second, her eyes widened slightly, and she pointed an almost accusing finger at the whimpering Yashi. "You mean he came from a - "

But her voice was interrupted by Ianna's, and instead of continuing her sentence, she glared at the ghost beside her.
As of now, it was just floating normally - although for some reason, it exuded an air of laughing at its caretaker. Breaking away from Kierla's side, the ghost drifted toward the sounds of things crashing and being thrown.

"KAY!" Yashimas voice was a squeak from his usually silent throat. His body wriggled and writhed on his fathers lap until Patrick, begrudgingly, put him on the ground. Wobbiliy, the little fox used his wand to push himself upright with a squeak.

He wouldn't stay like that for long.

"Yeah - He's from a wand. He's a fox spirit. Hey! Ianna!"

Alert green eyes instantly locked onto the fox kit and she squeeled, pushing herself up on all fours before she managed to crawl to him, a grin on her cute, cherubic face, "SHII!!!" she giggled...then stopped. He was...Bigger than her now?

Her little face fell and she pushed backwards a little bit, staying where she was. She wasn't very happy, and that showed. Normally she would have clung to him.

Ianna chased after her and offered a smile towards Patrick, who had become her best friend - surprisingly enough, "Hey there, hon? How's you, the brood, and the little one not yet arrived?" her silver eyes sparkled, though she showed signs of wear-and-tear.

Things were obviously hectic at the headquarters.

It was then that she noticed Kierla, "Hello there," she said with a small nod of her head. It was rude to forget company!

"A fox spirit. That's...interesting." So! So far, she knew of a phoenix wand, a dryad wand, succubus, Drow...now a fox. And her own was a pegasus. There certainly was a wide variety of souls.

Kierla felt rather self concious, as she watched the others greet each other enthusiastically. It was obvious everyone here knew each other, except for her; no doubt she was rather in the way. So she gave a rather surprised jerk of the neck when addressed. "...hi," she said, nodding back. In a tiny attempt to make conversation, she next nodded at Kay: "And who are you?"

The ghost seemed veeerrry curious about these new people, hovering around them as if trying to find every possible way to annoy them.

"I'd say so." His voice was quiet and amused, eyes slanting down to watch the two toddlers on the floor. "How've you been, Ianna? Rough times here with Princess?"

The dark man swooped down long enough to blow a kiss to the little girl, lips quirking into a smile. "You're not being very good, are you, darling?"

Yashima was as close as he could be to beaming...when Kay stopped. His lower lip poked out into a pout, grip tightening on his wand. No Kay? His mental voice was sad as his knees wobbled once, twice...and ker-plunk! Onto his a**!

"Three more wands, Coailiann still being unable to walk and getting mighty frustrated about it...Malen's little girl Del, plus Kishi and a never ending parade of Sailor Moon. It's starting to wear a little on me..."

You got bigger than me! her voice accused inside the fox-kit's head. It didn't sound happy, either.

Coailiann crossed her arms at him and looked completely sullen. She already couldn't walk and others could, and now she was SMALLER than her best friend? It really was NOT fair.

Ianna looked to Kierla, "That's Coailiann, my daughter."

"I thought Matilda was your daughter?" If this was a cartoon, Kierla would have rotating squirlygigs for eyes. Her common senses simply weren't working today.

Another dreadful thought came to her mind. "Did she..come from a wand too?"

Kierla vaguely heard the man's words, tripping her mind up even more. "Wait. She's a princess...?"

Yeah. Her mind really wasn't working today.

"Kay is MY princess," He corrected, standing smoothly. The child didn't look too happy and Patrick did NOT want apples flung at his head by an irate toddler.

"Ianna, you didn't tell her that these wands turned into KIDS? For shame! I thought better of you!" The dark man was smiling, though, taking one flamingly homosexual hop-skip-and a jump towards Ianna to give her a kiss on the cheek.

"Matilda came from a wand too!"

Yashima wilted on his position on teh floor at his friends anger, hugging his wand closer. ....didn' mean to.

Coailiann broke her attention on Yashi to smile a bit at Patrick before she sighed and lay down on the floor. May as well be smaller, right? She didn't understand why she couldn't stand or walk or why she was the size she was.

Her lower lip stuck out and she hit the floor, "NOFIR"

Ianna winced and leaned into Patrick a bit, "I told her, I don't think she believed me. Coailiann came from a wand, as did Matilda. Kay is a Sidhe," she smiled slightly then gave an exhasperated look towards the tantrum-ready girl.

"I think she's trying to kill me though."

"Of course I believed you," Kierla said stiffly. "But I'm still rather in shock about it..." She added a sheepish laugh at the end, but again it sounded fake and unnatural.

Then her head was back whirling again. "Sidhe...? Bean Sidhe, or just plain Sidhe? What kind of wand did Matilda come from?" GAHTOOMANYQUESTIONS. Kierla knew that someday she would drown in them, and that would be the end of her.

The ghost meanwhile was sulking low to the ground. One with a very good imagination could almost see an absurd pout on where could be a face. Apparently it didn't like to be ignored, for it floated right between of Kay and Yashi, tendrils of smoke wiggling slightly.

No fair.. The little fox agreed tiredly, squeaking when that little wisp went up to his face. Those slanted eyes widened quickly, hand moving to pet gently at that wisp. His hand didn't go threw the fluff, like one would expect, but he kept his pettings soft and gentle, to not disrupt the cloud.

Patrick blinked a little, nose wrinkling. "She's not plain, but she isn't a bean sidhe. I don't think there ARE any banshees, right, Ianna?"

Ianna shook her head, "No, there aren't. And...She's just a Sidhe, though I don't know what rank..I know nothing about her past life, which rather annoys me. Could be the reason she's such a brat...I wouldn't be surprised if she WAS A princess because of her superiority complex..." she gave a weak laugh.

Coailiann glared at her mother and was tempted to send a flying object at her face, but instead looked at Yashi. Hard. She was MAD, Hate it. she whined, ignoring the pink fluff that now had Yashi's attention.

"Ah." What else was there to say? Kierla never had been that great at continuing conversations, only creating random threads of topics that soon died out.

The baby ghost was a little more social, however. It gurgled in a strangely purring fashion when petted, snuggling up to the young boy. It was extremely annoyed at the Sidhe, however; why was she ignoring it? The ghost did a little dance in front of Kay's vision.

Kierla frowned a reprimand at the lump of smoke. "I am sorry that it is bothering you," she apologized to Kay.

Patrick sighed at Kays continuing petulance, nose wrinkling. "First thing first." He swooped down once more, scooping up the girl-child into his thin, but strong, arms, cradling her close adoringly.

"Listen to me, baby girl. I dunno why you're glowering at my fox-kit, but you know he's a sweetheart." A sloppy kiss was pressed to her cheek, "I don't want to have to get rid of him just becuse my favorite princess didn't like him! Forgive the poor little bugger. Lookit him. He's miserable. Do it for your 'Trick."

So he could sweet talk.

Yashima tickled at the little baby ghost, casting a pitiful look at his tousan and the shiny girl. it was sad.

Coailiann seemed to brighten slightly at Patrick and sighed, snuggling into him before sticking her thumb in her mouth. She didn't look at Yashi again - she was still angry. It was a wonder she wasn't angry at Patrick (since he was also taller than her) but maybe she understood they were older.

Yashi was younger than her! THAT was not fair.

Coailiann didn't exactly like the fact she was slower than everyone else.

Of course, she didn't quite understand her powers were more advanced than anyone elses therefore her motorskills had taken a hit.

"I dunno why she's grouchy...but she IS." He grinned and shrugged, hands moving to stroke at Kays hair, nibbling at the little girls cheek teasingly. "Tell us why you're mad at Yashi, baby?"

Yashi whined at the angry gurgle, hand jerking away from that baby ghost, little pale cheeks flushing with frustration. He couldn't do ANYTHING right today, could he??

Coailiann looked at Patrick with the most adoring look EVER, "Big," she muttered, green eyes closing then as she snuggled into the older man, "More big," a deep sigh followed, one eye opening to gaze at her best friend.

Definitely. Not. Fair.

Kierla's heart practically melted at the cutest look on Coailiann's face. Heh. Who knew she'd be such a sucker for puppy-faces.

"Aw, sweetie, don't worry, you'll grow big soon." Kierla never thought she'd ever hear herself say the word 'sweetie', but what could one do against such a sad little face? "I've known people who were small when they were younger but became taller than everyone, later!" Well, that wasn't exactly a lie. It probably could happen, right? And if it made peace between Kay and Yashi, then it didn't hurt.

The ghost, oblivious to Kay's frustration, stared at (or at least faced in the general direction of) Yashi with confusion. Eh?! No more petpets? How sad! It made a gurgling noise again, this time of inquiry.

"Yashi's bigger?" He blinked quietly, laughing before pressing a soft kiss to Kays cheek before rubbing her back and placing the girl onto the ground. "He still adores you, baby. It's not his fault, you know."

The little fox paused, blinking quietly, moving over slowly to give him a quiet pet. ...not mad? The question as said completely in his mind but...he wasn't sure if it was only Kay he could talk to that way or...

The little Sidhe was totally digging the attention, "Small. Lot small. No walk. Sad." she grumbled softly, sniffling and wiping her eyes which seemed to tear up. Kay really was very much a ham, it seemed.

She knew how to milk everything for as much as she possibly could. Besides, she really WAS upset. How could she not be? She was a TODDLER and couldn't even stand on her own yet.

Kierla smiled even more gently, a genuine smile, and awkwardly petted Kay. "Don't worry. You'll be able to do everything Yashi can, soon. Besides...as..." She looked at the man, realizing that they hadn't introduced themselves to each other yet. "...as he said, it's not Yashi's fault."

The ghost certainly jumped. It definetely heard something, however - whether it was Yashi's voice and it simply couldn't understand the words, or whether it was some other noise that had startled it, would have to remain to be seen. But it cuddled against Yashi, making yet another variation of gurgles - this time almost like a contented purr.

"Isn't she adorable?" He grinned goofily when referring to the little sidhe in question, tugging gently at the others silver hair. "My name is Patrick, girlie, either way. Kay here calls me 'Trick'."

Yashi hesitated at the cuddling... so the thing heard him. Awesome! He shifted slightly to nuzzle his nose against the baby ghosr, careful not to inhale too much.

...what kind of high would that be? A baby ghost junkie maybe..

Her green eyes abandoned the two adults and simply looked over to Yashi. So he was already replacing her? She gave a little wiggle in Patrick's arms and whined, reaching out for HER Yashi. No puff of pink smoke was going to take HER Yashi away from her!

EVEN if she was mad at him, she DID adore him! HERS! HERS HERS HERS!

"Shii! SHIII! MINE!"

"Kierla. Pleased to meet you." Her eyes narrowed slightly at 'girlie' - but she didn't comment. Peace had just arrived, no need to make him go home too soon.

At the Sidhe's cry, the ghost shrank away, taking refuge behind Kierla. It peeked fearfully out.

"Oh, you want him now?" Dark eyes rolled, head shaking just slightly with a faint laugh. "Yeah, yeah, Kay..." And so he moved over, placing the little sidhe down near the kitsune and where the baby ghost used to be. "Here."

Yashi just curled back against his wand, hugging it tight with a little whine. She was going to yell some more. No no noooo...No more yelling.

Coailiann moved towards the Kitsune child and hugged him, "Still mad," she muttered, "But love." she nodded her head almost sagely then and nuzzled into his neck, "Still mad." she repeated, though she pat at his head lightly.

After all, he was still hers, right? Right.

Kierla smiled fondly again down at the two, then sighed. "Well, I suppose I should be going..." She reached down and petted the still quaking ghost on the misty head.

The ghost was sulking again. What a selfish little girl, that girl with green eyes was, to steal the nice petting creature from it! But it was too scared to come out.

"You have a spoilt daughter, Ianna." His eyes rolled, standing and glancing at Keirla, lips quirking into a smile. "It was nice meeting you. When your kiddlet sprouts a solid body, we should get together again. Yashi seemed to like it."

Yashima hugged back slowly, whining at the pets and the nuzzle. No mad.. He pouted, glancing up at the ghost. His small hand flexed in a baby wave even as his tail wound around Kays waist

Ianna raised a brow at Patrick, "I don't spoil her, you can bet your a** on that one..." she sighed and rubbed her temples, "I don't know what's gotten into her lately. I think she's frustrated that she can't even stand up yet. She doesn't understand why she's so...different. Therefore, she compensates."

Coailiann sighed and leaned against Yashi, No get it. Slow. she murmured in his mind, her thumb going into her mouth to soothe herself. She understood what Patrick was saying.

But she was so young! And she was...Frustrated and didn't understand. She had a RIGHT to act out!...Right?

Kierla nodded hesitantly. Seemed her kid was the sociable kind? Or maybe Yashi was simply liked by everyone. "Well...I'll see you all later sometime, I suppose! Bye! Come...ghostie-thing." She really had to get some sort of temporary name for the ghost.

The ghost happily returned the wave, then turned to follow Kierla. In a moment, both the woman and the ghost were out the door and out of sight.

It was Iamel this time with Yashima. Patrick was busy and he wanted to get out of the house. The small kitsune was clutching onto his brother, small face buried against his neck and tail around his wrist.

The bird sighed, ducking into the store with a little grumble. "Ianna? Are you in here?" He actually LIKED Ianna...she gave him shiniees.

Of COURSE she was there! She still had two wands to give out and pretty much had to stay in that dusty shoppe. All. The. Time. Coailiann wasn't too happy about it, but currently she was trying to forget where she was by coloring on a large sheet of paper stretched across the floor.

She would have preferred to be coloring on the floor itself but...Ianna wouldn't allow it. Despite how dirty the shoppe was...It was her baby. And her sanity.

After all - it was because of that shoppe that she had her children.

"Oh, Hello Iamel!" she said, looking up boredly from her book, "Patrick around or did you go off by yourself?"

"I wandered off by myself." He shrugged just slightly, still cuddling his little fox baby close. Yashima squeaked at the tightening of the others arms, little body twisting around.

"Kay?" Yashima drawled out softly, head tilting down to peek at the others.

"Shiniee said I could take him here as long as I didn't throw stuff at people."

Coailiann's green eyes lit up and she set her precious crayon down to reach out for the fox child. Her friend was here again! And yes, all was forgiven!...Slightly. For the most part.

She was still a little upset but it seemed like the little golden eyed boy was more important than her crayon. Considering that was the most important thing in her possession at the moment - it was a good sign.

Ianna chuckled softly, "Wanna help me polish some of the wands? They're not as shiny and nice looking as they could be." carefully she marked her place in the book and pushed it aside, tilting her head as she waited for the woodpecker's yay or nay.

Yashima still wasn't too sure how to react to Kay but now that she seemed happy to see him, he was more then happy to give into her whims and to join her. Iamel shifted so he could put the fox-kit next to the sidhe, running a hand through his multi-colored hair.

...and then she asked him to make things shiny. He might not have been a raven or anything attracted to shiniees by breed, but we all know the woodpecker. He loved his sparklies. So those red eyes lit up, and he grinned, hopping a bit on his heels. "Okay! Will any of them come to life?"

The white haired boty rocked a little on his butt to land on his hands and knees, slowly crawling over to kay. No mad?

"Oh, no, these are normal wands. Baubles. Antiques." she smiled warmly and pulled out some polish and two rags before moving out from behind the desk and picking up a few boxes of wands and bringing them over. She then pulled a chair up beside her, "Come here and sit down. When you clean, put just a dab of the polish on the rag and rub up and down carefully across the metal, okay?" she did one to show him and then handed him a rag and offered the wands so he could select one.

Coailiann reached out for Yashi and hugged him, making soft baby sounds. She was happy to have her friend, even if he was bigger than her, "Shii! Missed." she nodded her head and patted his cheeks then, "Lots ."

She really was a cutie. When she wasn't being a brat.

"D'ya think I'll ever have a bunch of brats like Shiniee?" His nose wrinkled in distaste at the thought but Iamel didn't really think he'd be a bad father. He already babysat all of his siblings, allllll of the time!

The rag and the polish was taken, following Iannas instructions exactly. "Cause babies smell bad and Shiniee has catbitch - I don't think I want a catbitch. No one would WANT to be my catbitch 'cause Shiniee says I don't make hte right choices in friends."

Yashi purred quietly, nuzzling into her hand with a soft purr, eyes sliding shut with a quiet trill. "Arigatou.." His voice was a murmur, leaning foreward to wrap his arms around her little shoulders quietly.

Coailiann didn't exactly know what that meant, but she shrugged her little shoulders and closed her eyes, wiggling about to get comfortable against Yashima.

"Language," Ianna reminded idly as she worked on her second artifact, the other finished and set aside in a padded basket. It was currently gleaming in the dim light of the shoppe, "And I don't know. Maybe. If you want them, you can have them. If you don't, you may get stuck with them any way. You never know," she smiled and turned her head to look at him, "I think you'd make a fine parent some day, Iamel. You're responsible - which is nice. Not seen in a lot of kids these days."

Yashima shifted just slightly against her, nuzzling into the sidhe with a soft trill. His tail poofed out, winding around the two of them with a purr.

"Language?" He looked puzzled at that - 'catbitch' wasn't an offensive term to him so much as Mordreads name now. He continued to shine at the wand happily, humming a little tune he'd heard under his breath. "But I'd need a catbitch thing, right? I mean, shiniee had me alone and 'Kuti but t hen Catbitch came and BOOM! We have a FULL house. We had to move! Is that what happens? Because you got Coailiann and then that guy moved in. I can smell him on you."

"Yes, Iamel. 'b***h' isn't exactly good language for you to use. You're still a child," she paused in her working and sighed, "Yes, He had two children of his own. Kishi and Del. But there hasn't been a boom of children and he's been here a while. In fact, Coailiann's the last one we got - and that was WAY before Malen came along," she nodded her head then, giving her wrist a twist to get some grime out of a particularly horrible area.

Coailiann shifted again and giggled, accidently kicking her crayon across the room. That didn't make her happy and she whined softly, carefully untangling herself and crawling towards the crayon.

Her small hand grasped the crayon, unsure how to crawl back carrying it. Her clenched fist would hurt...She gave another whine and rolled herself to the side of the desk, grasping at it with one hand in an attempt to pull herself up.

It worked. She was standing - albeit wobbly, "Shii!" she giggled, little legs wobbling a bit too much before she fell onto her rear.

Instead of crying, her lower lip jutted out. She had wanted to walk, darnit!

"I say it all the time and Mordread doesn't say anything." His lower lip poofed out in a pout as well, but he continued the shining. He'd make that damn thing glisten! It'd be fabulous. "What if you get pregnant? Shiniee's pregnant." He nodded at that, as if it was common knowledge and not odd at all.

Yashi paused, calm golden eyes on his friend. He hesitated and gummed at his wand again. It was bigger now - as big as he was, and strong. That's what HE used to - wait!

The foxkit wriggled himself over, pushing his hand - and wand - towards the sidhe. Take.

"Maybe Mordread's used to it," she shrugged her shoulders and then coughed, "I don't think I'll get pregnant, Iamel. I'm not even sure what Malen is to me, right now we're just...friends." she nodded her head. They'd yet to discuss it and she hadn't seen him much lately. Jobs, she supposed.

Coailiann looked at the wand and took it, pushing it against the ground as she struggled to push her tiny frame up again, wobbling - though not as much now that she had the third 'leg' to use. She smiled a little bit at her friend and gave a little grunt, lifting one leg (and shaking pretty badly) and placing it in front of her other. And then - she repeated it, slowly taking wobbly little steps with the aid of the wand.

"Shii Shii!"

Ianna stopped her working and almost dropped her rag and wand, staring at her little girl, "Kay! You're WALKING!" screw the fact that she was using a cane! SHE WAS WALKING!

"BUt how's it bad?" He was still puzzled and then snorted at that. "Just friends. That's what Shiniee said too. 'He's just my friend, Iamel! He just needs a place to stay! That's all!' And now he has babies growing in him. He throws up a lot. If you start throwing up--"

Yashima beamed at her, little chubby arms waving enthusiastically. She was doing it! She was doing it! He squealed softly, ears foreward and fluffed upwards, cooing under his breath after that squeal.

He was so proud!

"She's walking?" Iamel twisted around and arched an eyebrow. "....they get worse when they learn to walk,y'know."

"I think she'll get better," Ianna laughed, "She was a brat because she couldn't walk and it was frustrating her. She did worse than walking before - she levitated. Could get things higher in the air...Doesn't matter now that she can walk. I expect her temper to wane now..." she blinked and then reached behind her desk - that desk seemed magic -After all, she could just about get anything she wanted by just reaching behind it it - and picked out a plate of cookies.

"I think this deserves some celebration. And you know, Mordread IS Patrick's friend. But things happen." she nodded then and bit into a chocolate chip cookie.

Coailiann beamed at Yashi, bouncing up and down on her feet - and staying up, "I do it!" she giggled childishly and let the wand drop (Thankfully it didn't break). She wobbled a little bit at first before staying still.

"EEEE!! EEEE!!!!"

Obviously she was excited. But to take another step and ruin her glory or not was the question! She decided to throw caution to the wind and took tiny tentative steps. And stayed up.

"He isn't his friend. They're...whatever." He shrugged those little shoulders slightly, lower lip poking into a full-blown boy pout. He didn't like thinking about his shiniee being 'more then friends' with anyone but him. The bird hopped away from the wand he was shining, glittery shoes moving his slim frame to the barely toddling girl.

The cookies? They were ignored. Who gave a damn about cookies when there was a troublemaker at hand??

"You're walking!" Iamel crowed, grinning and reaching out, offering his hands to Coailiann. "This means you can dance with Shiniee! Yashi can't walk yet, even! Goooo Coailiann!" He was cheering her on, like any good big brother would. Kay was, after all...kind of like a little sister.

Yashi was estatic for his older friend, waving his wand in the air. That black and blue tail was poofed up and he bounced on that cute toosh for a moment. "Kaaaaaay! Mmm!" It was as close to his cheering as he could get at this point, giggling madly. What a GOOD thing!

Coailiann giggled childishly, clinging to Iamel's hands to keep from toppling over. She was already teetering dangerously, her young limbs not quite used to all the pressure and weight on them. The little girl's green eyes were sparkling with such light and happiness - and it was quite obvious that her bad moods were a distant speck now.

Well, maybe not so distant. Ianna's head was still kind of pounding from earlier that morning when an apple had been lodged at her.

Speaking of Ianna, her silver eyes were lit with happiness. Three children were currently very happy right in front of her. And that was amazing, "Go Kay!" she joined in the cheering.

Iamel just grinned a little as he moved his hands a little bit, fingers still wiggling. "Maybe you should sit down, Kay. Your legs are getting wobbly." One hand stole down to tickle her behind her knees, laughing once more. "But see? You can walk! It's a good thing today."

Dear Journal,

So all that whiney, bratting and complaining was worth it. Last night, when Iamel came over with Yashima, Coailiann took her first steps. And she's WALKING now!

My little girl is certainly growing up into a young lady. Now that she's not as far behind as she was, she's actually got a sweeter disposition. She smiles more and is less possessive - and it's only been a day. She refuses to crawl anywhere and rarely levitates herself. I suppose she's worked so hard on getting her legs to support her that she's going to wear them out!

It was so wonderful to see her take Yashima's offered wand and use it as a cane at first, then slowly walk without needing it. She fell at first, but then...SHE WALKED! I'm still in shock.

I'm so proud of Kay. I really am.

But I fear for my life. A mobile toddler, a succubus, and Del? Not to mention the very big kid Malen...My headquarters is going to be torn apart!

It's worth it. I love them all so much.

Undated

Dear Journal,

Coailiann and Yashima had the most interesting day. Coailiann was outside playing in the gardens - actually playing in the mud. It was amazing to see her not caring about ruining her clothes. But that's beside the point.

Yashima came out to play and I guess she ended up getting him dirty because he started to SQUALL. Patrick and I rescued them and took them to take a bath in the wooden basin that Coailiann insists on using.

Well, let's just say Yashima became very confused at a few missing parts on Coailiann's body. Oh dear it was amusing.

They really are cute together!
