((lol I was bucked off a horse and haven't ridden much after that. It was my friend's horse and afterward she told him he always bucked people off. It would have been nice to know! lol wink ))

Jazz nodded. "I guess that makes sense. Then you are a great cowboy!" Watched as they entred Dragnid Forest. She shivered a bit. This was the forest everyone talked about being scary and evil. She had never been in it before. "Is this safe?"

OOC: sweatdrop I've been bucked off twice before, both times receiving pretty nasty looking bruises and sore body parts. But ya know what they say, when you fall off a horse ya gotta get back on ^_^ and I love it to much not to. To bad I hardly get the chance.

BIC: sweatdrop Yeah. That was him alright. Gently nudging the horse into a trot again, he looked around. "Safe? It's just a peice of land with a bunch of trees and woodland creatures like squirels. It would be illogical to think that there was anything worse then a bear out here. And the horse can out run any bear." The demonic pae reasoned, recalling what he had read about Forests in books. He certainly had no reason to think differently about this one since he hardly talked to anyone. How was he to know if this forest was dangerous?

((Yeah, I don't have many chances either.))

"Not this forest. There is much more then that I hear. It's an evil place with evil things. I've never been in, so I wouldn't know. Just heard that from others." Jazz told Raken. She was keeping look out now, just in case.

He gently steered the stallion down the trail, a skeptical look appearing across his face. "An evil Forest. I'll believe that when Amara finds herself a lover." But even as he spoke, the trees around them groaned, the birds that normally inhabited those trees silent. The world about the two pae seemed to hold their breath in expectation yet Raken didn't notice a thing.

'Bout as soon as I will find one. Jazz thought to herself but didn't say anything. "Yeah, I'm not sure about that." Jazz held onto him tighter. She didn't like fighting, it wasn't in her nature. However she was an elder and had strong powers, when she wanted them.

Moments passed and nothing happened. All seemed to...calm a bit. Raken nodded mentally to himself. It had been illogical to be afraid of some forest, and nothing had happened. That was the way it was supposed to- There was a loud snap behind them as a tree unexpectedly fell. Instantly the horse was terrified, just as a real one would be, and instantly went into a run leaving the startled demonic pae to simply cling onto it's flowing mane. Just as he was about to rein the stallion back, there was anouther loud sound behind them, only this time, it sounded big. Real big, and coming towards them.

Jazz held on to Raken after the first sound. "I don't want to say I told you so..." She began when she heard the next sound. Jazz was scared, so things around the horse began to fly around. She got like that at moments of extreme emotion. Jazz was too scared to see what it was.

Steadying himself, Raken flung a look over his shoulder to see...a giant...squirrel? Oh yes, it was four times the height of a full grown pae male an three times as big with a long...fluffy...tail. He blinked, pulling back on the horses reins. stare "It's a squirrel. A big...giant...squirrel. You've got to be kidding me." It opened it's mouth and let out a roar, sounding much like Raken had imagined a fabled T-Rex would. And the squirrel revealed to have just as many pointy teeth. sweatdrop "You've got to be kidding me. It's a squirrel." The creature went into a run, and Raken dug his heels into the stallions heels, hard. Squirrel it might be, but it's one BIG SQUIRREL! pulling his hands away, he managed to keep the horse going straight long enough for him to pull his two obsidian bladed daggers out from his silver chainbelt. with a twirl of the wrists, he stabbed both of them into the horses side. Instantly he let out a cry, loud enough have the forest about them echo as he litterly felt his energy being forcfully yanked from him into the steed. His back arched, head yanking back but the demonic refuesed to let go. Only when he felt it stop pulling at him did he slump back down across the stallion. And the stallion, ran a whole lot faster.

Hearing what Raken was saying Jazz looked back. It really was a big scary squirrel. "Okay, that you dont see every day." She then concentrated and had big rocks fly towards the squirrel. She turned to look foreward again but kept having things fly at the squirrel. Jazz watched Raken and knew she better hold on. She wasn't sure what he was doing, but the horse went faster.

Behind them, they could hear the squirell screatch as it batted at the flying objects. It still thundered after the stallion. Raken was clinging on weakly, blue eyes slightly dulled and his breathing ragged. This was the first time that he had actually practiced with this daggers. He weakly glanced over a shoulder to the quickly gaining...thing. The flying rocks and such were probably the only reason that it still hadn't gotten to them, but it would never last. The dagger-power up was the only reason why the stallion was still solid yet it would dissapate at this rate. "Jazz...hold on for dear life." With that, he gently detatched her hands with a hand, the other still on the horses mane. The demonic pae took one of her hands and put it past him on the mane, then he leapted off, straight towards the giant with a swift kick to the horses flanks as an added spur.

Jazz looked at him. "Why?" The her answer was given. She held onto the horse by herself, but she didn't want to leave him. "Raken!!" She shouted as she looked over her shoulder. She consentrated as hard as she could to cause a bunch of rocks, trees and whatever else to fly at the beast in help for Raken. "How does this thing turn?" She asked about the horse.
PostPosted: Wed May 24, 2006 11:44 am

Raken hit the earth, hard. The demonic pae rolled over the ground a few feet before going to a stop. He pushed himself onto his knees. "Pull on the mane in the direction you want to go!" He yelled in responce, though faint to her from the distance already covered. Raken closed his eyes then, searching for whatever bit of darkness was left within him. He pulled these shattered remained and formed a second ball next to the horse one. Wincing, the shadows around him gathered...and formed...into good old mountain cat. Eyes shooting open, he stared right at the feline. "Attack squirel." He grunted. Immediatly it ran past him to the furry creature. The giant had ignorned the pae and had stepped over him to try and get the more...game prey. And it was closing in on the stallion fast, clawing madly at the rocks and trees that came at it. The cat pounced onto the squirel just as a huge boulder hit squarely in it's face, the shadowed feline sinking it's midnight teeth into it's back. Raken fought to stand, his face covered in sweat and his body beaten and bloodied from the ground hit. If he somehow survived this, he was NEVER going into ANY forest ever again!

Jazz heard his faint yelled and pulled the horse back towards him. She tried to get the horse to swirve to miss the squirell and now a shadow cougar. Jazz sat up on the horse and looked around. She saw a tree and tried to unroot it. It didn't want to budge as if it had it's own mind.

"Get on the horse and leave it so the cat!" Jazz called. She then tried to float Raken towards her. If he let her.

He quickly shook his head, clinging onto the ground to keep on land. "The further I am from the shadows I make the weaker they are. The daggers in the stallion should keep it going until you're out of the forest but if I leave the cat will be gone in ten feet." Raken finally stood with a grunt, looking straight at the oncoming stallion. "Take her out of here." Immediatly the shadowed horse did a wide circle around them to go back on it's origional track. The feline leapt from the squirel to race around it and go for it's throat. The demonic pae dropped to his knees again, both balls of darkness within him threatening to shatter. He just had to make sure that Jazz was safe. Just that...He closed his eyes to put more focus on his creations.

OOC: sweatdrop dang his limitations.

Jazz let him go. "But what about you?" She asked as the horse took off again. How could she just leave him? Oh, but she could let her body go without her. She still had telekinsis plus the added bonus of being go-though-able. "Keep my body safe, please horse." She said as she grabbed onto it's mane as tightly as she could.

Jazz then appeared next to Raken in astral form. "I will still help you." She scanned the area and looked for something to float at the beast. So many rocks she had already used. She shurgged and used a few more.
