I'm confused... is everyone just playing the original parts or are the original parts genderswitched to match the actors? Is belle still Belle or is she now Beau?
Belle:French for beautiful (feminine)
Beau:French for beautiful (masculine)

Yay, I get to be in the play! Kinda... mrgreen But wow... what a gender confused cast eek This is going to be hillarious xd Oh and I think it'd stay Belle, because it's a character, not a french word right? Dunno for sure though.

Yeah but I think the story was originally set in france, so literally her name would be "beautiful" So the masculine form of it .. well "handsome" Would become beau for french purposes.
It would have been different if it was set in england or something like that. 3nodding

Alright! mission update for you guys! Ragurk: Hello My wonderful Cast for my adaptation of Beauty and the Beast! Today i give each of you a few lil things to do here and there! For the Usher/Program giver Team: Try to design a simple flyer you guys can hand out and post about all over school XD. Also try to spread the word of our play in progress and such! We might need some extra funding depending on what our outfits may turn out to be like and what scenery we might need! Special Effects team: We will be incorprating the Beast turning into a beast in the begining of the play, how shall we make our simple beast transform and such? And how will our castle be made and such? And for the lightning storm on which Beast and Gaston will fight a bit will diffently be one of our most eyecatching scenes. How will we get those done? If you have a simple solution post em up here! (Try to be as creative as possible! remember our high school isn't an ordinary high school XD) Makeup artist/costume design:I'm sure outfits are possibly the most important part of a play's feel and theme. Keep in mind it dosen't have to be victorian and such, Ragurk is really quite free with the outfit. Drawings of your outfit ideas would be much loved, describe what you have in mind here in this thread! Assistant Director:Have any ideas? more ideas would be greatly loved! Otherwise you guys will be an important voting factor seeing we have a 3 person team itll be good to have tie-breakers for ideas.

Special effect person's idea's
Well for the changing, it depends on who has what powers and how fancy we want to go.
The least fancy way would be pull up a cloud of dust or sparkles and have Joy change costumes onstange while dropping the other one through a trap door in the stage.
A normallish one would be simply materialising the costumes and rebuilding them... so that one dissolves with the other condenses on her body.. this looks cool, but isn't all that complicated.
A nicer one would be levitating her and slowly spinning her, putting on a light show supposedly coming from her body while doing the materialising one, or stripping one and using the lights to temporarily blinding the audience so that they don't see anything while another one is transported onto her body.
Yet another way would be making a pretty cloud with rose petals or some kind of flowers and making her invisible so she can sneak off, change then return just as the wind and everything dissolves to show her new form.
Those were my ideas. 3nodding

Makeup/Costumes Team Rivera: I've done a sketch already for Joy's casual/unruly/messier wear:  Tomoro sempai >(  )< said she'll probably start drawing too, I think... My next plan is probably something for Liuz... I will ask one more time... will the character "belle" Played by Liuz be male or female? I'm asking about the character, not Liuz. We know he's male... I think >.>;;; This is crucial because I don't want to have to make this something that looks like lesbian love stories or make Joy look hunched over xd Oh, and suggestion for Special effects. I've have a few lightning grenades, they're just pure light, no electrical energy, and it doesnt cause fires... would you like to use them?

A... you name it, I'll try and solve it. I'm sure Tomoro Sempai would try too... I hope... Where is Tomoro Sempai? Maybe she doesn't know about this...

 Liuz: I'm really not sure. I never assumed I'd be playing the damsel... Hmm... what is the male form of damsel anyway... Nevermind.... Well, sticking to the more disney-esque version of the story, I think fantastical warrior doesn't quite work. Perhaps some sort of student? It would all really depend on what time period we were thinking... this mini avatar thing is quite fun... HEY! Why am I dressed in drag in mine!!!!

Make-up/Costume Design TeamRivera: Well, Let's see... how about a more moderned version of it where you'd be wearing a button up white shirt with a long coat of some sort with dark, baggy jeans and hiking boots? I need suggestions... I was thinking of slacks, a sweater vest and a tie, since Belle read a lot, so you might just be a scholar.

 Tomoro: Sorry I'm late, everyone. I had a strange... encounter. Anyway, I was also thinking of something just like Rivera was saying. If Liuz is going to portray Belle, he'll need to seem like he's in love with books. I would definitely go with slacks and a sweater vest... maybe a loosened up tie. Rimmed reading glasses would also look good. A futuristic Beauty and the Beast would be pretty cool though, too.
If we're talking romantic times, back sometime in the 1800s, then definitely the second topic Rivera mentioned. He might want to look somewhat scattered, so a few buttons of his shirt could be undone here and there...
Of course, we can't just talk about Belle, here. There are many other costumes to be made. As for the sketch you made, Rivera, I'm in love with it. Fur is pretty easy to sew; I can piece that costume together right now, now that I think about it. Chip and Mrs. Pots costumes... those might be a challenge, on the other hand. Rivera, I also suggest we split up the costume designs; for example, I draw Gaston's outfit, you draw Mrs. Potts... it would become a lot easier that way, and there wouldn't be any duplicates of pictures.
