April's chubby cheeks quickly turned into a fire engine red color. She giggled at Paestri with a smirk. "I-i am April.' She cautiously took one of Task's hands and shook it vigouriously. Surprisingly, April wasn't being too shy today. April's light gray eyes blinked as she saw the gestures come from Paestri, she followed unwillingly curious of what Paestri wanted. "Um..where are I-we going?" She asked in a hushed voice with her eyes ever so often glancing down at the floor.

Task looked from one little girl to the next, giggling as the one called April shook his arm so hard that his whold body quivered. Stamping a hoofed foot, he held his chin out to the pink haired girl, relishing in her request to scritch his neck. His Quinn did that and he loved it.
Looking at his arms and then at the arms of his new friends, Task wasn't sure what response to give. He just had four arms is all. He looked for Quinn, his soulful eyes pleading for help.
Quinn chuckled and came to kneel by her charge. Ruffling his tawny hair, she whispered, "Maybe you should show them your Truth..." She kissed his forehead to distill the uncertainty that filled his eyes and reassured him, "It's ok, love. Don't be scared."
Task studied Quinn and then each of the girls in turn before nodding his head reluctantly. Squinting his eyes, he hunkered down in a ball and concentrated. Glitter motes filled the air around him and when a gentle breath from Quinn sent them swirling away, the little boy was no where to be seen. In his place, was a six-legged, fawn-like creature, tiny nubs of horns peaking out of his tawny and cream fur. He cocked his head and looked at the girls. Any of them who cared to look into those deep chocolate eyes would see Task behind them.

Paestri grinned and gave the furry Legend the scritch she was offered. She loved the feeling of his soft fur against her fingers, and when the glittery motes appeared then disappeared to reveal Task's true form, the pink-haired girl just gave a squeal of delight.
"Ooooo, you look really fluffy, much fluffier than Mr. Itchy." Paestri smiled, walking up to the male Legend. "April, doesn't Task look fluffier than Mr. Itchy? Doncha think so too, Ulna?" she giggled happily. Paestri was glad she went with her mum to the HQ that day instead of staying at home to bake with her older brother.
Malady frowned at the attention Paestri was giving Task, it didn't like it when Paestri grew attatched to other creatures other than the Intangible. Its shattered eyes tapered in sinister slits as it coiled itself around the female Legend. He looks dirty to me. it whispered into Paestri's mind.

Task leaned into the attention from the pink haired girl, relishing in her touch. His tongue flicked forward, tasting her sweet fingers. His resulting blush was evident even through all his fur.
Reaching his head around, he readjusted the leather cord that hung around his long neck. He was careful of that, for if that bottle ever broke, the Things of Nightmare would be released into the waking world.
Wishing to talk with the others once more, he concentrated, squinting his eyes. When the glitter settled, there was once again a four armed, hoofed little boy.

Paestri clapped in delight once more at Task's transformation. "How do you do that? That looks so fun!" she grinned, staring intently at the furry Legend. The wide-eyed look of awe evident in the pink haired Legend's face was the exact opposite to the Intangible's.
Malady's expression turned livid with a mixture of disgust and prejudice. Anything that did not resemble what the Intangible considered normalcy was not to be associated with. It narrowed its shattered eyes at Task, and noted to attempt at influencing Paestri to ignore him in the future.

Task blushed at Paestri's questioning. "I dunno how I do it," he replied. "I just do. The Sandman taught me..." He trailed off, fearing he may have revealed too much.
On impulse, he raised an arm and tucked a stray strand of icing pink hair behind Paestri's ear, blushing all the more.

Paestri smiled as Task tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, "You have lots of hands, that must be really nice. I wish I had lots of hands, it would make baking easier because my older brother Linny is horrible in the kitchen. Like my mommy, but he cleans up the kitchen really well, much better than mommy or anyone in the house. Big sis Talim doesn't like baking, she says it's too girly. Do you think baking is too girly? And is being girly a bad thing? Ooooo, and who's the Sandman? Is he your daddy?"
The questions just poured out from her, it was natural for Paestri to be asking so many things from someone she only met. She knew little of them and wanted to learn about them, it didn't bother her that she might be making the other person uncomfortable. Then again, Paestri herself rarely felt awkward or uncomfortable (at least not in the physical sense).
Malady sneered at Task's blush and stored that bit of information away in its mind.

((Well, here goes nothin'! xd ... sweatdrop ))
D-chan stands outside the door to the Legend Headquarters, both ears flicked forward to catch the non-existent sounds coming from within the walls. Within her black-furred hand rests a tiny pale one, cumbersome fingers clinging with startling strength to hers.
"D-chan, do we have to go in there?" the boy whines quietly. "I mean, what if nobody's here? Then we came all this way for nothing. And what if there are ghosts in there? I saw one last time, remember? What if there are more now?"
"Yes, Dai, we have to go in there," the fox-girl chuckles, kneeling down beside the small boy and smoothing the unruly crow-feather hair away from his forehead to see the sparkling green-gold eyes hidden behind it. "If nobody's there, we at least got a good walk. If there are ghosts, we can handle them. Don't you want to make new friends?"
"I have friends," he mutters, clinging to the ancient tome at his side. "There's Kaen--"
"Who is too big to come," the fox-girl interjects.
"Hoshi--"
"Who prefers to taste Legends than to play with them."
"Kurenai?"
"Easily lost-slash-squished."
"Danyeh?"
"Easily squished."
"Umm..."
"Out of ideas?" The boy nods meekly as the fox-girl grins, ruffling his hair before standing once more and pushing the door open. "Then I've proven my point. In you go!" Seeming resigned to his fate, Dai shuffles into the headquarters, his fox halfling guardian following close behind.

((Nooooooobody's here.))
Two faces peer into the shop, twin pairs of green-gold eyes darting curiously about. It appears that the headquarters is empty today, though for what reason neither Legend nor guardian knows. After another few moments of scanning the interior of the room, D-chan gently ushers Dai inside. A soft rain begins to patter against the streets moments later.
"See, D-chan?" the boy mutters. "Nobody's here. Can we please go home now?" His gaze continues to flicker about, looking deep into every shadowed corner. "I mean, those ghosts are still here, I'm sure, ghosts never leave so fast and so easily, it's not like them, you said so yourself--"
"I thought we discussed this," the fox-girl chuckles. "We came here to meet people. If we wait, maybe people will come to us. Besides, I'm tired. It's a hike coming down those mountains." The half-fox sits down in the nearest chair, lifting her paws up off the floor and drawing them up beside her. "Besides, you can't use the ghost ruse to get me out of here. I can see them, too, you know."
"Yeah, on a good day," the boy mutters. His guardian throws a playful glare at him as the boy clambers up into a nearby seat, opening his book once more and proceeding to pour over the seemingly endless pages of indecipherable scrawl.
"Any luck?" The half-fox asks cautiously. There have been times in the past when she has interrupted the boy...and rarely did they turn out nicely. Often enough the child would become snappish and defensive, refusing to speak or even explain what it was that he was doing.
Luckily, this is not one of those times. Dai shakes his head slowly, one small hand running down the page before he turns to the next, the same look of frustrated determination etched across every line of his face. "Nothing. I can't read much of it...just those first few pages."
As though to prove his point, the boy closes the book with a soft snap and opens to the first page. Lines have been neatly drawn across the ancient paper, providing boundaries for the elegant yet unreadable script. Flipping a few pages forward, he then displays the looping scrawl that fills the vast majority of the book. Though the lines are relatively straight, there are no guides for the dark ink to follow, creating a rather haphazard appearance. Not only that, the words seem to blend together into a single line of messy letters, thwarting most any attempt at decryption.
"Well, I can certainly tell why most of it is incomprehensible," the half-fox murmurs. "And the first few pages where it's tidy...it's in another language?" The boy nods silently, flipping back to the lines in question. "Man. What a bummer."
"Tell me about it," the child sighs. "Would you mind taking me to the library?"
The half-fox's ears perk. "Eh? What for? You think they might have some dictionaries for that lost language?"
"Maybe...but I'd also like to get some more reading books. It's boring only having the one I can't read!" He smiles over at his guardian, who is shaking with silent laughter.
"I think we can do that," she chuckles.

(( I'll post her profile once it's done 3nodding ))
Two pairs of feet, sounded lightly down the sidewalk and up the steps to the Legends HQ. "Momma, do I have to goooo? I want to go home," pleaded a small girl of what seemed to be of wolf decent. She looked up to her mother, silver strands falling about her face and the large fur ruff that covered her shoulders, some of her chest, back, and neck. the small girl's little wolf ears of ivory flicked, their black tips tainted as if they were dipped in black ink.
"Nonsense, of course you have to go inside. You'll meet some new friends maybe! Besides, it's starting to rain," exclaimed a woman looking to be around in her early twenties or so. The womans own black wolf ears, decorated with many silver and gold cuffs and earings, pivoted downwards a little as they caught her daughter's little 'huff.'
The woman smiled and shook her head before grasping and turning the door handle. It opened smoothly and she pushed it more than halfway open, nudging the girl through before following. The rain drops were now falling quite rappidly and their sound became muffled as they hit the roof of the building.
Wine red orbs of the guardian gazed around the room and saw that they were not alone here. Two figures, a Legend most likely and it's guardian, occupied the space. The legend was sitting in a chair, a book perched in his lap, mumbling something to his guardian. When Morosina saw the other legend, she dashed behind her mother, peeking through the gap in her legs as the door shut behind them, causing the little girl to jump

D-chan looks up, ears flicking wildly as the door opens once more and two new faces enter the room. A bright smile lights her face at the sight of other people; finally, Dai can make a new friend! And she can hopefully have an intelligent conversation; she hasn't had one of those in far too long.
"Hi, there!" the half-fox grins, standing and walking toward the newcomers. "I'm D Spiro. Please, call me D-chan. Who might you be?" Her green-gold eyes flick toward the little girl hiding behind her much taller guardian. "And who might you be?" the fox-girl asks gently, her smile dimming slightly to avoid frightening the already nervous youth.
As Legend and guardian enter the room, Dai slowly looks up from his book. For just a moment, his green-gold eyes meet the wine red ones of the new woman in the shop...
...and then he breaks away, pulling his legs up to his chest and burying his nose in the book clutched tight within both hands. His knuckles begin to pale as he tries vainly to avoid notice, his anxiety getting the better of him at even the thought of having to introduce himself to someone new, let alone TWO someones.

Black wolf like ears of the werewolf perked up in some excitment at meeting new people, though it seemed that her daughter wasn't to inthralled. "I'm Azumi Nore, but please just call me Azumi. This is..."She was able latch on to the little girl hiding behind her legs and get her in front," Morosina. Don't be rude now, say hello!" Azumi said with a chuckle in her voice.
The little, silver haired girl gazed nervously down at the ground with her green and gold gaze. She laced her fingers behind her back and was scuffing the ground a little with her brown leather boot like shoe that had the same white and silver tipped fur, like her fur ruff, around it's top. "H---hi," was mumbled, small wolf tail flicked around her right leg as the small wolf ears 'top her head pressed against the silver locks. "I'm sorry, she's a little shy..." said Azumi apologetically to the ither woman. Her gaze shifted to the boy sitting in the chair beyond them, his nose pressed within' his book. It was only a second before she nudged Morosina gentally to stop being so shy, but a smile still sat on the guardians face.

D-chan smiles down at Morosina as the small girl is presented before her. "Hello there," she chirps kindly. "It's very nice to meet you." The half-fox looks over her shoulder at the boy staring so intently at the book mere centimeters away from the tip of his nose. "The book worm over there is Dai," she chuckles. "And don't worry about shyness; I know the feeling perfectly well. Hey, kid!" she calls brightly, chuckling as the boy flinches closer to his book. "Why don't you come over and introduce yourself?"
"You just introduced me, why do I have to come over and do it again?" he asks meekly from behind the leather-bound covers.
"Just come here!" D-chan laughs. "He's stubborn as a mule and shy as a mouse...just don't know what to do with him."
With reluctant obedience, Dai slips off of the chair, clutching the book close to his chest. He comes to rest before Morosina, bowing low before the Legend and her guardian...more to avoid eye contact than out of polite respect. "Hello my name is Dai it's nice to meet you." He bounces up quickly and turns on his heel before scuttling back to his chair.
"I just don't know what to do with him," the fox-girl sighs playfully.

Azumi chuckled at Dai's reluctance and what she thought of as antics, “he is polite though, and there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of shyness.” As her mother talked, Morosina glanced up a little at the boy who had bowed before them. Her eyes, going from the darkest green around the pupil to the most vibrant gold at the rims of the iris, watched him scuttle back to the chair from the shadows made from her bangs.
“Morosina is also shy…But can warm up pretty quickly if a new person has something that really catches her eye,” the werewolf looked down at the silver haired girl that was leaning against her legs now, still staring at her shoes. With a twitch of her black wolf tail, Azumi whisked it against the girl’s cheek, causing a sudden giggle to expel from her daughter’s mouth. “Have you been here long?” the woman asked the new acquaintance named D-chan.
Knowing very well that her mother would eventually make her play with this new Legend, Moro decided to swing around the force and she very timidly left her mother’s side and quietly walked over to where the boy was. Silently she moved until she reached and peeked over the armrest of the chair he sat in. The wolf girl put her two hands, though they were mainly covered by white and silver tipped fur that was sewn around the base of her long, forest green sleeves, up onto the arm rest to cover her mouth as she spoke, "what….What are you reading?" Was asked in a shy, soft voice with muffled words. Black tipped ears perked forward for an answer as her small, nine inch, wolf tail hung limp behind her. The furry appendage would occasionally sway and brush the long, forest green loincloth skirt she wore whose edges were stitched with a golden thread…Legs were covered by tight very dark green spandex like pants.

"I did teach him one thing, if nothing else," the half-fox snickers. "Manners are my strong point. That and magic. But the magic doesn't count in this case, because Dai far outranks me in that category." Shaking her head, laughing all the while, D-chan looks around the shop. "Now, I wonder if they have a kitchen...tea sounds really good right about now."
The fox halfling listens intently to Azumi's words as she scans the headquarters. "Dai...well, Dai's never met another legend, and he doesn't get much contact with people outside the family, which is partly because I'm scared to death that he'll let his magic slip and then the whole town will be up in arms trying to 'slay the demon...' But yes. It's nice that Morosina can warm up to people. I just hope Dai can, as well..." She smiles at the woman over her shoulder. "And we haven't been here for more than five minutes now," she laughs. "But this is our second time in the Legend HQ. The first time we came here Dai spotted a ghost. Scared the living daylights out of the poor kid."
Dai jumps at the sound of a voice so close by. His green-gold eyes dart to Morosina, watching him over the arm of the chair, as his hands close the covers protectively. "It's something that I've always had," he replies quietly. If not for his obvious shy discomfort, he might seem like an incredibly rude child. Anxious, he scoots to the far side of the chair and opens the book again.
Even so, he continually casts sidelong glances at the little wolf-girl. She did come and say hi...so he can probably tell her a little more. It's the nice thing to do, right? "I...I actually can't read any of it. It's in another language, one I don't know," he admits meekly. "So I'm not really reading any of it...just trying to find out how."
