oggywoggy222 Always. But my dad, who lives at least a quarter-mile from my school, says he heard the band practicing during the day when he was sitting at his desk, inside, working. whee lol....same here...my dad was over a mile away working in town one day, and he said he heard us loud and clear...I'm sure they can hear us in town too...(Keeping in mind that we're only a 32 man band whee )

Yup, we have houses close by our practice field, and I'm sure they hear us everyday. biggrin

Well, some people don't know who we are, and our uniforms have GB on our shoulders and we have green and gold on it, so some people thought we were supporting the Green Bay Packers when we marched at the University of Virginia. We're really Great Bridge.

Bleh, day before yesterday my school had a Bedlam game against our sworn rivals. While we were standing at attention this little kid kept poking me and screaming in my ear but at Third Quarter I saw him. Needless to say, my associates and I took care of it whee .

The closest thing to that actually came from my old band director before I went into highschool... he'd flip of the trumpets alot whenever they played a wrong note and the right note was the second valve... it was funny the first few times, but it got old. And another time, outside of school, some rap fans(I'm assuming) started yelling at me and my friends as we practiced in my friend's garage... so we chucked a few rocks at them so they;d quit yelling. Got one in the nuts, it was funny...

nope...but they drive all over our pratice field which happens to be in the parking lot... many of the students think the band suck but they don't open their mouths to say so... i think it because they know we will stomp them... and the football game is not worth coming to without a band... our football team sucks...

Obaa-chan Our band gets honks and all, but they're usually the good kind. Since my school's a performing arts/IB/swimming school, we don't have that many people who would diss the band. Besides,they'd probably get mauled for something. And it's the band field. The football team just borrows it. domokun Dunno why,though, they never really score more than twice on a really good day.. No one disses us, because with our horrible football team, we have to be extra good to make up for it. 3nodding Our field is on a slightly busy street, so people drive by and honk. But it's a good thing, because normally they say, "GO FIRESTONE!!" so, it's not too bad. 3nodding And the field is right next to the train tracks, so when trains go by, they normally blow their whistles and we wave to them. Does anyone else do Air Raids? It's kind of a rookie hazing thing, but every time an airplane flew by, we'd have to roll around on the ground. While we were at band camp, a graduated trumpet flew her plane... thing over the football field again and again. I bet the people in the planes look down and wonder if it's some sort of mental institution...

yes. but it's only from the football team. and even then, we straighten them out.
we get crap like that all the time from them.
but one time, this one football player thought it would be really cool to bloody up a band nerd...so the #$@% started pushing the guy around.
you know, the usual ring formation and the chanting "fight, fight"...guess what?
the band nerd...not a scratch on him. that football player was on the ground unconscious and bleeding like a pig. eek
no one EVER messed with ANY band nerd again.
the moral of the story::
MOST OF THOSE FAIRIES PLAY MUSIC BUT THEY AREN'T MAN ENOUGH TO GET INTO BAND. YOU KNOW WHY? IT TAKES MORE PHYSICAL SKILL(and the self-explanatory mental skill) THAN ALMOST ANY OTHER SPORT (INCLUDING FOOTBALL, YOU JOCKS).
so kick their asses and prove their pansies, cuz it's true.

Yea we got yelled at a lot. In Marching band When marching over people yell random stuff at us. These one girls yelled "OVER RATED!!" at us and people will yell band geeks or band sucks or just random stuff to try and make us mad. We always ignore them though, since we are at attention.

Our practice field is by a major road, but none of the cars do anything except stare. Everyone loves the band here.

Our high school was like that a couople years or so ago.
At football games, we would be victims of an 'accidental'
football team's ' maul the band nerd over ' game.
But now we're respected and damn well loved because
our marching band kicks a** domokun

I feel practice field envy. Our 'practice field' is our student parking lot. ;-;
Anyways, yeah, once in a while we'll get a few jeers from the crowd at a football game. I think the people that yell "MARCHING BAND SUCKS!" get a collection of bruises from all the band parents/fans/alumni that support us, though. Haha.

We have the best football in the area and around 4th best marching band in the area. So we have no discoragement. That and alot of our sports players practice marching band so its all good.

The yelling was bad today at practice. There was a whole lot of screaming and jeering, and we got an F-bomb, too.
