Moonlight_Shadow12 My favorite Yaoi Manga would be.
Desire- Toru is a shy and quiet student who has developed a special crush on his close friend Ryoji, the most popular member of the high school swim team. In front of Ryoji, Toru hides his feelings and acts as if he is just one of Ryoji's good friends, but in a moment out of the blue his world will be turned upside down as Ryoji will confess a secret desire for Toru. Dazzled, Toru can barely hide his excitement for Ryoji and quickly accepts his offer. As time passes, Toru's happiness begins to fade knowing that his affair with Ryoji was just a fling based out of Ryoji's sexual curiosity.
Toru, adamant about his feelings for Ryoji, confides in another one of his close friend, Kashiwazaki, about his dilemma. The two set off to devise a plan to test Ryoji's true intentions by faking a romantic relationship. Soon after, a frustrated and jealous Ryoji attempts to pry Toru out of the arms of Kashiwazaki. Is it just as they planned? Yeah! That is of course until Toru realizes Kashiwazaki wasn't really faking! How could he not have seen it coming?
Both Toru and Ryoji have hidden their feelings from each other in the past, but now they have discovered that they were not the only ones. Will Toru and Ryoji be reunited or will their true feelings for each other go unfulfilled?Golden Cain- Shadows From The Past. Shun works very hard to live up to the memory of his older brother, even at the cost of his personal life. Suddenly, a beautiful stranger comes into his life and takes Shun on a ride down a dangerous road of love, loss, lust, guilt, passion and taboo! Shun craves excitement, and the stranger gives it to him... but at what cost? Little Butterfly- Little Butterfly begins with a simple premise; two very unlikely boys becoming friends and falling in love. One has a very troubled home life and this provides most of the angst over the course of the plot. The story is very well constructed, with the timings of certain events nicely placed for maximum emotional impact. Nakahara and Kojima themselves are fully realised as characters, engaging, and so very real in their personalities and interaction. I know people just like them in fact. Kojima's blinding yet honest naivety is especially endearing and leads to some of the manga's sweetest moments. I really can't praise this manga enough for its consistent characterisation and story-telling.
The artwork too feels full of life, and is wonderfully versatile. Utterly beautiful and wonderfully composed where it needs to be, it flits quite often between real and imaginary scenes in order to compliment the writing. In one memorable scene Nakahara comments that he sometimes feels like he is floating out to sea while everyone and everything passes him by. The moment taken by the artist just to draw Nakahara on a raft floating out to sea beautifully realises the thoughts of the character and fixes them in the reader's mind. Hinako Takanaga is not afraid of letting her metaphors creep into her art.
As far as I'm concerned this is what I wish all mangas were like. A great story solidly told with excellent characters, and most of all, longevity. Little Butterfly is beautifully made, as is all Juné, and is one story from cover to cover. There are a few brief bonus scenes at the back, but they are centred around the main characters and only serve to deepen our understanding of them and their relationship. Most importantly, there are two more volumes, which (having read the second but not the third) would seem to be of equally excellent quality.
Little Butterfly is a beautiful story in all respects; masterfully told, wonderfully illustrated, and very fulfilling for the reader. The story has length, without being drawn out, and as such is incredibly satisfying. Value for money in every way. Go forth and buy. Fly my pretties, fly!Passion- Hikaru, a second year high school student, is obsessed with Shima, a male teacher. Surprisingly, Shima is not averse to the boy's affections. He even convinces Hikaru to study hard so that when he graduates, they would openly become lovers. However, Amamiya, an ex-lover of Shima, steps into the picture and tries to win him back.
Will Hikaru and Shima's passion prove great enough to hurdle all the obstacles stacked against them?Selfish Love-BREAKING ALL THE RULES... Ryuya was only trying to finish his University courses when he caught the eye of the wealthy and gorgeous Orito. As President of the prestigious Honors Society, Orito has the right to handpick his assistant...and he's chosen Ryuya! Campus politics aren't the only things on Orito's mind, and Ryuya is shocked to discover that his newfound suitor always gets what he wants... Skyscrapers Of Oz-Skyscrapers of Oz is standard soap opera yaoi, and if you happen to be in the mood for such fare, then Skyscrapers will leave you feeling satisfied. Row Takakura, the artist, has a very pleasant art style, with delightful clean line work.
The story centers around Mari Kudoh and his partner, Yoichi, who are "handymen". No job too big or too small. They'll walk your dog or they'll do darker work such as blackmail and surveilance.
The wife of a CEO contacts them. Seems her husband has a "boy toy" and she wants him run out of town. Mari's younger brother, Miyuki, happens to know the mark, a young man named Yu Kaito.
(As an aside, Miyuki and Yoichi are also lovers. This has very little to do with the plot, and this relationship seems to exist only to provide the reader with some gratuitous ? but not unpleasantly annoying or boring ? soft core sex scenes. They also tease Mari a lot about the fact that he's not seeing anybody.)
Mari sets out to tail Yu and ends up rescuing him from another group of men who seem intent on causing him some real physical harm. Ooops! You're not supposed to rescue the target.
I won't spoil the plot, which was well paced, and had a few nice reversals as well as a big revelation, but I will say that what made Skyscrapers of Oz a keeper is the way in which the relationship between Mari and Yu developed. I liked the nervousness, the hesitancy, and the genuine tenderness. I actually began to care enough for them to root for the relationship, and when it happened, the emotional payoff was pleasing.
Skyscrapers of Oz isn't anything groundbreakingly original (in fact it has several yaoi cliches in it), but if you want a yaoi story that isn't as spazmotic as Gravitation, or isn't the endless tease of Fake and is devoid of annoying, unfunny, "comic" characters, then this volume will be an enjoyable read. In terms of subject matter, it reminded me a bit of Banana Fish.
In fact, I'm a bit saddened that as far as I can tell, this isn't a series. I liked the characters of Mari and Yu, and am curious about what happens next in their lives.Wild Rock-The main story is about Emba and Yuuen. They are both heirs to different warrior clans. Unfortunately, their clans have been long-time enemies, and because of that, Emba and Yuuen are destined to hate each other. But when they meet, it's love at first sight.
If I would describe this manga with just one word, it would be: HOT! It's a sweet story about forbidden love, and how love can conquer anything. It's mostly told from Yuuen's point of view... how he struggles between what's best for his clan, or what's best for himself. The sex scenes are really hot and, oh yeah, they're uncensored.
Both Emba (seme) and Yuuen (uke) are simply gorgeous (Kazusa draws the seme muscular and tall, while the uke is skinny and short). The only negative with the main story is that it is a little too short. Besides that, there is a bittersweet story about Emba and Yuuen's fathers (when they were young), Selem and Yuuni. There is also a shorter story that is set after the main story plus a one side short bonus story with an alternative end of the main story. Really funny!.
As if that weren't enough, there are some first sketches of Emba, Yuuen and Selem, plus an interesting aside, where Kazusa writes a summary to every story, telling the reader why she wrote it and what the idea of it was. I added one more to my list of Yaoi I enjoy reading except that this one is a june instead of a Yaoi but I like it none the less.

Hands down: FAKE. Still, the first yaoi manga i read, still the best yaoi manga i've read. I love the fact that it's an American story that had to be written by a Japanese woman, because no american author would attempt to do a story about gay new york city cops and their "adopting" (de facto) of a bi-racial child. The art is SUPERB, the story is great, and over 7 volumes, Dee and Ryo can convert even the most anti-yaoi people to yaoi hardcore fangirlism if you read the whole thing all the way through!

my favorite manga is Yellow. i like it because one guys straight and the other is gay and they eventually get together. its so sweet. Straight, macho Taki and shy, effeminate Goh are an expert team of bandits hired by the police to steal from the mafia. Lately, Goh has been more interested in acquiring Taki than in the usual caches of arms and drugs. And later in the books Taki begans to fall for Goh. what makes me sad is that its only four books of it. crying

For-Chan Cookie My favorite yaoi manga has got to be Haru wo Daiteita. Unfortunately, it seems that I'm one of two people on the entire guild whose read it! crying Everyone should read it! Anyway, I started a thread on it here, but like I said, no one else seems to have read it around here, which is a crying shame considering how beautiful the art and the story are. YOU'RE NOT ALONE! Haru Wo Daiteita is one of my favorite yaoi manga ever! heart
I love how the plot is intricately woven with the characters learning to grow as actors in an ever-changing business of movies, how they grow as people and mature, and how they grow as lovers and learn how to support each other and fall in love with each other even more.
It's a wonderful blend of drama and humor, and Youka Nitta's art style is so pretty. Iwaki and Katou are damn sexeh! domokun
And not only is there a good plot, there are HAWT shmex scenes almost every chapter! heart I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yaoi with a GOOD PLOT and GOOD SHMEX mixed together.

Okay I'm lying that's just my favourite for the smut.
But my actual favourite is Little Butterfly.
And, I don't have it infront of me and I haven't read it in awhile but I'm pretty sure it's because the story was so like. full of conflict, and drama and romance. and it was fluffy at some parts and all. i dunno heated and dramatic at other times. Just yea. It was really cute and I almost cried reading it.

I like all the manga done by Ayano Yamane there has yet to be a single story that she has done that I have found disappointing. Out of the entire collection she has done my favorite along with many of you is Viewfinder. The story is very deep and you never know what to expect next in the chapters to come.
There's alot of other manga's I really enjoy like Fake (though only read one volumne crying ) then of course Haru Wo Daiteita. It seems alot of people like these.

"Seriousness is the refuge of the shallow."
:3 I got a new one that I love! 50 x 50 by Saika Kunieda. It's abso-friggin-lutely hilarious. It's about these two playboys who sort of have a best-friend/rival relationship - they pick on each other and complain a lot, but in the end they're friends.
After they both get dumped one night because their dates think they're gay, they end up getting drunk and having sex... and they spend the next week or so with their palms glued to their faces, refusing to even look at the other. They brush it off, saying it was just because they were drunk and stupid... and then it happens again.
It's hysterical, and the characters are such losers. Never fails to make me laugh heart Unfortunately, it's still ongoing, and isn't licensed, but I sure hope some nice company will pick it up once it gets released as a tankoubon in Japanland!
Furthermore, Dog Style by Motoni Modoru is completely crazy, silly, slightly ugly at points and I love it. If you like comedy and hot sex, get your paws on it ASAP! It's licensed, but I can't remember who by. I usually don't like school settings (except for when teachers are involved, hardy har har) but this is actually pretty sweet.
Aijin Incubus by Shinba Rizi... also hilarious, and cute, and there are tentacles. Licensed as well. About an Incubus and a high-school student with raging hormones.
I also recommend anything by Yamada Yugi, I especially love Close The Last Door. The characters are usually not girly at all, and I love that
heart - Oscar Wilde.

Hooo, that's actually a tough question... I haven't given it too much thought to be completely honest.
If I had to make a choice right now out of all the yaoi manga in my possession it would have to be FAKE. I choose that one because FAKE is a manga series I can pull out and read again and again, I never seem to tire of it. I find the art refreshingly different and it is nice to see a couple of characters that really look like men together. Also Sanami Matoh's characters, Dee and Ryo are completely endearing. Even her secondary characters are completely adoreable, it's definitely up there for me.

It's simple for me even though I have way to many yaoi's with wonderful warning sticks. >W< Annnd some that aren't....
My favorite is Only the Ring Finger Knows by Hotaru Odagiri and Satoru Kannagi it's very fantastic. I would write my own long description but I just discovered the fourth novel, so I leave here amazon's description.
It's the ultimate expression of love to wear matching rings with your significant other, showing the world that you are a couple. High school student, Wataru Fujii, also wears one even though he is single. When he accidentally switches rings with a popular and handsome senior, Yuichi Kazuki, they discover that their rings pair up! Since that moment, Kazuki - who is known for being kind to all - becomes strangely harsh to Wataru. They alternate between hot and cold, as in between clashes they begin to sort their feelings for one another. Are Wataru and Kazuki the worst of enemies or are they actually soulmates?
It's pretty swell, full of BL and the way it's written is amazong. Except I never want to open it to far, afraid of bending it... =_=
