 Xigbar shook his head. He had forgotten how hard it was to first learn this. But then he always felt that emptiness, it gnawed at him, tore at the fabric of his very being. He wanted that emptiness to go away more than anything, more than he had ever wanted to lose what had been there in the first place.
"No, you just have to know it's there...so that you can use it. Once you learn how, you don't have to feel it again if you don't want to."
He hoped that was true. In some ways he envied Demyx, he was so innocent, he didn't remember what it was like to lose his heart, probably never did. But Xigbar remembered it clearly, it was something he felt everyday and remembered every day. But maybe if Demyx never remembered that, he would never have to remember that he felt empty inside.
The older turned toward the door, this really wasn't the best room for teaching.
"Let's find someplace better for this, I don't wanna destroy the kitchen."

"Well...that's good."
Well there was a relief. He could do the spiffy portal thing without having to experience that horrible feeling inside. But why did he feel like that? Was it normal? Did every other Audio feel like that? Or only the ones with the cloaks? Or only him?
"I don't want to feel it again...it's not a nice feeling."
He turned, walking off out the door. He'd wait for Xigbar out in the hall, and together they could find a different room to practice stuff.
It was true, he was innocent, even a little naive. The only problem was he WANTED to know what was going on. He wanted to know what the others were feeling and how they got there and just what the hell had happened. A shame really, if he'd just let it go he'd probably live a very happy life...but his natural curiosity was going to get him into trouble one day.
Til then he'd be the same spastic, fidgety, innocent youth they remembered from some time ago.

"No...no it's not." And you never get used to it...
Taking one last look around the room to make sure he hadn't forgotten to put away anything, the older audio walked toward the door and followed Demyx into the hall.
"If you ever see a guy with a big spear in here...avoid him."
He walked down the hall with Demyx, looking in the rooms as they past, searching or a good room to practice in. It needed to be a good size, but didn't have to be huge. Preferablly someplace without a lot of breakables and a place where they wouldn't be interupted.
"You see anything?"

Avoiding a guy with a big spear seemed like quite a good idea.
"Just so long as he doesn't take the cookies..."
Demyx followed along behind Xigbar, snickering a bit. He had to really wonder if he'd go up against a guy with a spear for anything...but cookies seemed like a noble cause if any.
A bit down the hall, the youth peeked inside a room. Well, it certainly seemed spacey, and there wasn't a whole lot of things inside that could break or hinder their training.
"Hey Xigbar, how about this one?"
Demyx looked over at him a moment before heading off inside the room, checking it out.
"It seems good..."

Xigbar nearly choked as he bit his tounge to keep from laughing.
"Yes, you can be the cookie crusader."
He couldn't help snickering as they made their way down the hall, his tail swishing behind him with each step. He had been looking in another room when Demyx spoke. Turning he followed Demyx into the room, yellow eye searching it, taking in the surrounds.
"Yeah, this'll work."
He nodded and stepped toward the center of the room. Paw outstretched he again showed Demyx the darkness...or rather the emptiness that made the portal.
"Now you try."

Demyx didn't even try to hold back the laugh forming.
"Cookie crusader! I like the sound of that..."
Still snickering, he watched as Xigbar once again formed the weird portal.
"Alright...I'll give it a shot..."
The younger one stretched out his own paw, trying so hard to search himself and create the empty void Xigbar said they could...
But it didn't work.
"Erf....I don't think I can Xigbar."

"I thought you'd like that."
He watched Demyx, as he subconsiously manipulated the void in his own paw, molding it into different shapes, forming a solid cube instead of the rolling cloud that it had been before.
"You can't expect it to work on the first try. It takes practice, but I know you can do it."
Xigbar held out his other paw, the empty darkness forming there as well. Then bringing his paws together, the darkness formed into one that then surrounded him, enveloping him completely, then faded away revealing that the older had vanished. A moment later, the darkness swirled again and Xigbar stood before him again, the void fading until there was only the small flowing cloud in his paw again.

"Xigbar???"
Demyx looked around, wondering where the other had gone. He skitter backed a bit as Xigbar reappeared, the cloud once more in his paw.
"Gah! Don't do that! You scared me..."
Shaking it off, he tried once more to make the portal.
This time, the faintest whisps of the swirling darkness started to appear in his paw.
"Hey....I CAN do it!"
His tail swished a bit as he tried to make more of the darkness form.

Xigbar gave Demyx an apologetic look, he hadn't meant to fright him. He just kept forgetting that Demyx was easily startled.
"Oops, sorry about that."
He scratched behind his ear with his free paw, again manipulating the the emptiness in his hand, using his element of space to change it's form and size. Xigbar wasn't just teaching Demyx, he was praticing himself, he couldn't afford to forget his own abilities after all.
He looked up to see that Demyx had managed to create some darkness, and a slight smile crossed his maw.
"See, I told you you could do it. And when you learn to control it, you can move through it like I did."

"Could...I go anywhere?"
Demyx watched the darkness slowly forming in his paw.
"Or....could I use it to transport...something else?'
An idea was slowly forming in his head. Maybe...just maybe...he could keep up contact with Axel afterall. He awaited an answer, the darkness still gathering in his paw. The few whisps were now becoming a rather small ball, but hey, it was good for his first attempt at this stuff.

He nodded.
"Sure, so long as you know where you're going. Wouldn't wanna walk out into space or something like that."
Xigbar scratched behind his ear nervously, as if remember doing that very thing when he was first learning. Dismissing the thought, he let his body relax and leaned backward until he was reclining, hovering in midair as if sitting on an invisible chair.
"You could sent whatever you wanted through once you get the hang of it," he paused and shot a glance at Demyx, "Not that I'm encouraging you to break the rules or anything."
But there was a mischevious look in Xigbar's eye, maybe he was encouraging him.

"....yeah I'd like to avoid doing that."
He fidgeted a bit, watching the darkness grow.
"....Well Saix only said I couldn't be AROUND Axel..."
He smirked at Xigbar, catching the mischevious look in his eye with one of his own.
"He never said Puff wasn't allowed to travel between us..."
It was amazing he figured out such a plan so quickly. Maybe this having a friend thing was doing wonders for the kid.
Demyx watched Xigbar reclining, wishing he could do that. Then again, maybe he could do really cool things with water that Xigbar couldn't...once he learned to control it a bit better.

Xigbar smirked, clever kid. At the rate he was going he'd be able to move th rough portals within a few days. But then, actually getting to the right place was a lot harder than making the portal in the first place.
Growing tired of the emptiness he held in his hand, Xigbar dismissed it. A moment later a wapon materialized in it's place. He twirled the firearm, testing the weight, making sure it was as he remembered. He thought that he should get some shooting pratice in at some point, but this probably wasn't the best place for it.

Demyx grinned, thinking over the plan. It wouldn't be the same as really hanging out with Axel, but it wouldn't be total isolation either...at least that was a plus.
Demyx's own darkness dispersed as the weapon appeared, the blonde skittering back to observe from a 'safe' distance.
"WHOA! What is that thing?!"
Tail twitching nervously, Demyx tilted his head to examine the rather large gun.

Xigbar blinked, had the kid gotten more skiddish than before? Seemed that way. But he hadn't pointed it at Demyx, so there was no reason for him to be afraid of it.
"Huh? It's just..." he paused before saying weapon. "You know how Saix has his sword, Axel has his chackrams, and you have your sitar? Well this is what I have, it's a gun. You don't have to be afraid, I wouldn't hurt you..."
