Well, if you just start on fushigi yuugi, you have a LOT to catch up on, 14 books to be specific, I guess I recommend Imodoki, 5 books long, a good plot and very cute.

Mint de Kiss Me is a really old manga of hers and Yada ze! and Masei Kishin Den are novels that she did illustrations for. For Yada ze!, a girl won the 26th Palette novel contest and so Watase did some illustrations to go along with her story. Masei Kishin Den is a 4-part novel written by Hayase Mizuchi ft. illustrations by Watase-sensei. It's an old novel because her artwork for it looks... well, it's in her older artstyle. ^^

I have scans for both Yada ze! and Masei Kishin Den in my computer--will upload later when savefile.com isn't acting up. v.v;

About the story, the first volume, about the "bad girls" sounded more interesting to me. But most of them seems to be good.

Everyone who has recommended CERES: Celestial Legend, I agree with you all the way. It often reminds me of the TV series' Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Alice 19th, by the way, reminds me of the book A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle.
