I know I posted before but. razz
I only put music on and read on the bus, so I don't have to listen to people talk. Half the time, I don't remember what I heard. xD
As for home, I prefer to just... not listen to music. ^^

I was listening to my new Utada Hikaru CD earlier while I was reading my current book. I rather liked it. Her voice has a calming effect when I read.

I mostly listen to my Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack, because it fits well with alot of my fantasy books, and it doesn't have words to distract me when I'm reading something boring for school. But I ALWAYS listen to Sarah Evans when reading Tamora Pierce. I listened to her when I read the Immortals series, so now I connect those books to her music.

I tend to do a few things while reading aka watching tv, listening to music or watching a movie that I've already seen to many times.
*goes to check in lists*
Nightwish EVE Gabrielle Destroismaisons (if her music comes on the iPod) Metric-Poster of a Girl Pink! - Stupid Girls ABBA Jimmy Eat World Dredg Ace of Base Daft Punk some Utada Hikaru Sarah Brightman (such a lovely soprano voice <33) bit of Evanescence Red Hot Chili Peppers (especially while I'm reading Deathnote.)
I'm more a musicals soundtrack person.
-Save the Last Dance -Ella Enchanted -Phantom of the Opera -RENT -LOTR -Mamma Mia
Various Specific Songs that I really like and are awesome.
Only Hope - Mandy Moore Listen to your heart DHT True Colours most versions Brothers - Vic Mignona Bleach Ending one Naruto-Wind (?) Ending one I just called to say I love you - Stevie Wonder Hit the Road Jack - Ray Charles
OMG I can't believe I left out India.Arie WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!! crying She is awesome <3333
I don't know to me India.Arie to me really goes with Tamora Pierce especially the song video. More or less I technically listen to whatever comes up on the iPod.

I used to listen to whatever is sitting in my CD player except I got an iPod for Chistmas so I stick that in my speakers and I let it play and it doesn't stop either because it's in repeat. I guess most of it is Bowling for Soup, The Killers, Weird Al, and The Offspring.. I have a ton of random songs from random artist so I would have a long list if I put them all down.
I find myself getting distracted from reading a lot because if I song I really like comes on I feel the need to sing along with it. I should probably get songs without lyrics to listen to when I read.

Whatever my playlist on shuffle decides to put on, really. Sometimes it plays something apropriate to what I'm reading, and then it's really cool.

I listen to country and j-pop when I read. I love the songs and it is a nice background to the stories.

When I read, I like to have it quiet. If it's not, I tend to reread parts over again or I totally miss what's going on and have to reread the entire page. sweatdrop

I, too, prefer silence. I'm not a born multitasker sweatdrop I just can't listen to music without singing along, and then I forget to read, which is bad. So I listen to music when I'm not reading.
