I think Sephiroth is a better swordsman just because I like his sword and style. I also think Vincent is the better marksman because he uses tougher guns to aim with.

1) Sephiroth (Just from what was seen in the game definately Sephiroth... In AC it's hard to tell though but I'm still inclined to say Sephiroth.)
2) Vincent (Vincent seems like more aiming as where Barrets are more rapid fire machine gun or large area damage weapons).

Sephiroth...no contest...he is and always will be the supreme badass of badassness...well, at least for a very long time that is.
Barret...may not be better marksman but if he aims at something its definently gonna hit with all those bullets flying, and hit hard they will.

Sephiroth is classically trained in Ken-jitsu. Cloud uses a mixture of Stree-fighting and Mideval Broadsword.
Here's what it boils down to:
Cloud's style is based on devistating attacks, which are slow. Whereas Sephiroth's is based off of fast, acute, slashes.
I would say since he is better trained, Sephiroth it better.
Here's how I prove it:
All throughout the final fight (AC), Sephiroth was toying with Cloud, mocking him, parrying all his attacks, and throwing debris at him. In fact, if Sephiroth was not so obsessed with making Cloud pay, he could have ended the fight by stabbing Cloud in a vital region rather than the shoulder.
Also, all through out the fight, Cloud was on the defensive, even going to a two-sword techniqu to keep up with Sephiroth. In fact, the only reason CLoud won was Sephiroth's cockiness, and Cloud's new trick with First Tsurugi.
Before that, Cloud had only beaten Sephiroth through the shear power of his will (Nibelheim and in the Lifestream). So, due to skill and experience, Sephiroth was truely the better swordsman.

ok first of all vincent is the better marksman but he is supposed to be because he uses a sniper variant of some standard pistols barret however is the dummass who runs in from of everyone and goes " die ******** praise alah!!!" and cloud is clearly the superior swordsman because 1 he specialises in attack and 2 his sword is a lot harder to use so razz and clearly aeris is the hottest video game character of all time (plus she looks and acts like my gf biggrin ) ne way i have a hot gf yall probably dont so i win

However, he felt the battle was won. He beat down Cloud to the ground and nailed him to the wall. Cloud beat him because He now had a new Omnislash that Sephiroth was not expeting. New tricks beat skill.

Sephiroth only sucked because he was defeated... Twice.
Barret, well... He sucks because... Well, one) I don't like him that much and two) he's sort of retarded in my opinion.
