Taizen Arrived at the air ball Field, looking around. "I guess I'm here first..." He thought absently, stretching his arms, the moon was bright and full. And just being able to bathe in its luminescense was energizing. The moon filled his body a warm energy, and confidence. He sighed, as he fell backwards onto the snow. He felt great! Ah... If only he could sleep!... "No.. " He thought, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. he couldn't sleep. He had asked that airbender girl to meet him there!

He sighed and looked towards the temple, waiting for her to make her appearance. it was quiet... the only thing breaking said silence was the wind. He yawned again. The wind was making such rythmic sounds. Almost as if the wind were breathing... in... out... in.. out... in... snore...

Taizen immediatley knew that the sound he had heard was not the wind. But some sleeping animal. He thought he saw something move behind one of the pillars. He tiptoed near it. hoping so as to not frighten the animal.

He peaked his head over, and saw Niima! She was sleeping peacefully...

"Oi..." He said, his voice barely above a whispper. Kneeling to wave a hand in front of her face. Without waiting to see if she was awakening, He grabbed a fistful of snow. smoothed it out into a ball. And promptly placed it onto her head. Waiting for it to melt, and wake up the sleeping girl. A simple tap could have sufficed. But this was much more fun, blame the moon! For filling him with mischievous energy!

Hey! She didn't snore...loudly..And was his fault for being 'late'!

She twitched slightly when she felt the coldness atop her head and it was only until she felt the trickle of liquid that she jerked from sleep, eyes snapping open. A sense of fear shot across her face as she scrambled away from the pillar, fully standing and hands swatting at whatever it was spilling on her head. It was only until she realized it was snow that she relaxed. She could hear her heart thudding wildly.

She turned slowly towards the pillar and she blinked, spotting Taizen. Two and two where placed together. Oh good grief he has a mischievous streak too! She just hoped he didn't see her freak out. The liquid over her head like that had just..struck a cord of old..unpleasant memory within whatever she had been dreaming of.

Immediately she tried to cover up her shock by shaking a single digit in his direction. "Hey! You are late! And what's with putting snow on me, didn't you just make me go change because of being soaked?!" She laughed and continued to shake her finger at him almost menacing.

Taizen raised his eyebrows rose in fascination, he hadn't been expecting such a scared reaction...

"Well, I can't be too late... Besides, Your acting as though If I hadn't woken you, you would have been in the same situation as before i sent you to warm off." Taizen smoothly avoided the topic of placing snow on her head.

"Now then, if you wouldn't mind, I need your help again." He turned and looked over the mountain top. The moon was so bright that much of the surrounding area had been given a silver glow. "Have you noticed an area around here... Where... The weeds whistle?"

It was a strange question, but surely the girl knew what he was talking about. A Fern that is uniquely shaped, that when the wind blows through it, it whistles. A hearty fern that grows only near the northern air temple. Or so he read, he had never heard, nor seen; said plant before.

A hand rose, her first finger scratching against her cheek. He had her there. Ah well. A questioned look swept her features as he spoke of needing her help again and on his question she gave a sly look.

"Maybbeee," She flashed a smile as she clasped her hands behind her back and rocked on her heels. "Why do you want to know..?" It was a simple question, she wanted to know his reason of wanting to know where the whistling weeds where.

Oh boy where the wheels in her head turning, and one could almost swear it showed on her face. Why would he be asking about them? Her hands unclasped and she turned a bit to look out over the field. Not many stayed up as late as they where but that is what made the surroundings so serene. Her eyes rose to the full moon which casted it's rays on the world, adding to the view. She had heard that the moon swayed the waterbenders, was Taizen's mischivous behavor due to the moon? If so was he a total grouch when the moon was in hiding?

Taizen sighed, it seemed like such a bothersome question to answer. But, he smirked all the same. "So that one of these days, I can fell all enemies in my way." He said it so cheerfully that it was as though Niima had asked: 'Whats the weather going to be like?'

Niima had asked why he needed it. He recalled the small twisted paper that held the crushed fire blooms. His route to the south pole would provide excellent opportunities for him to gather the weeds, and mosses he needed for his 'potion' of paralysis. So tired was he of benders from other nations besting him for having trump cards. He needed to create one of his own. The scroll was an old medical scroll that taught how to anesthize an are where regular waterbending coulnd't heal. If he could reap that paste, he could use it to drop his enemies to they're knees.

He dropped out of his revelry. To see what effect this had on Niima, he could tell that she was a very peace orientated person. Would she help him? Knowing that he was strivingtowards a violent goal?

Edit:

(( He only said one sentance. This is just him mulling over some stuff. ))

From her positioned, she looked at him from the corner of her eyes, seeming to think over what he said. Finally her lips parted and she stated, and as always rather bluntly, "You know..to use a trumpt card is not truly winning a battle.." Did she just do the whole 'words of wisdom' ordeal? She sure did. But she was quick to remedy the whole wisdom by continuing her words.

She turned slightly to face him more fully. "If..I show you, you must do something for me in return..deal?"

She didn't like the idea but..if she didn't show him she was sure he would find someone else from the temple. Someone who cared less of the whole situation..of him...But she had a feeling he was bent in his ways and was going to go through with it regardless of what she thought..or said..

Taizen turned to Niima, a suspicious stare on his face. Normally, he would have asked 'like what?' or something of the sort. He must have been the weakest waterbender in the north pole! In the south pole, he was great, better than normal. in the north pole. He was average... He had to get better... Hehad to be powerful... Along the way, he lost sight of which goal he had that made him want to be powerful. But it was still his goal. People needed them.

He would have remarked something to Niima, something mean, or somethingthat would send those, oh-so-sensitive girls crying, or... Or... SOMETHING! But, In this case. He just nodded. "Deal."

"I Must be off my game..." He thought absently. "Being read like this... I'm not an open book!" He averted his eyes from niima to the full moon, which seemed to Taizen, somehow to calm his mind. "This is your fault." He mouthed to the moon.

Her head lowered somewhat as she watched him eye the moon. She hadn't liked the look he had given her but didn't shy away from the look either. It was something else that caused her head to lower. She bit down on her lower lip for a moment before mumbling out, "Tell me before you leave.." That was it. That was all she asked from him. She didn't just want him to leave without warning which she seemed obviously so sure of he would do. It was a simple request..unlike his..

Before waiting for a respond she began to move, walking down the steps that lead to the lower section of the fields. She figured he would get the idea and follow on his own accord. Almost ashamed of her request. Yeah..it was a stupid request but she had her own reasons behind it.

Taizen looked back to Niima, a bit shocked, this was the least of actions he had expected from her! Normally, she was so cool, and composed. With a witty remark ready. Taizen could tell a strong person from a week one right away. Not just in bending, or power. But in the way one handled themselves. Niima was obviously one of the strong ones. So he had no trouble with insulting her. Because he knew... no, he had assumed his cmments werent doing anything...

Taizen shuflled along after Niima, his feelings were once again beginning to conflict, and crash together. Such horrible things those feelings! Always make you... Feel! Eventually, he thought he heard something, something that reminded him of crying, and then, it dissapeared and was replaced by the sound of whistling. Like the one a shepherd would make to call his dog. The whistling dissapeared again. "I don't think I'm gonna leave any time soon.." He said, trying to make amends for hurting the airbenders feelings.

While he had his little tug-of-war she kept to herself, having one of her own lil tugs. Why did she ask something so..stupid? Well, in truth she had something she would give him when he did leave and she didn't want him to leave without it. She was scolding herself something fierce for growing 'attached' to Taizen but..she just got along better with him then she did with others. It was just..weird. SHE was weird! She resisted the urge to scratch her scalp in frustration, instead heading off into the deeper end of the fields, away from the 'playground'. Once in a while the whistling would give note but then fade away. A note they where getting close. But she was heading towards one of the places she liked instead of just a place.

Hearing his words she scratched her head with two fingers. "I..I know it's stupid. I just.." She looked at him and smiled a bit, "There is something I wish to give you when you do leave and I just have a feeling you are the type to just..leave on a whim." She shrugged a bit and looked away, slowing in step. There was a steep slope she had came up on and she pointed down it.

"There is a grove down there where several patchs of those weeds you spoke of grow. Be careful it's really steep and ..well I don't quite think you'd like the way I'd have to bring you back if you got hurt.."

She thought back to the little 'rock slide' she had done with Guardian. She could just hear Taizen complaining all the way if she had to do that for him. A strange lil smirk crept to her lips at that thought. It simply struck her as..funny. She could almost hear his bickering..

A scowl swpt over his face as he looked down the steepness that led to said grove. "Well, I assure you, if I have to go home in a stretcher, I will let you know." Taizen said putting one foot before the other slowly, trying to feel his way to the grove. "Y'know, I really hadn't thought about when I was leaving..." He said, he always figured one day he would just decide it was the day tol eave and... Oh.. Right... A whim... "Forget what I just said, I don't think theres anything I can surprise you with anymore. Who taught you to read people? Because they were really annoying."

Taizen hadn't harmed himself yet, and he was already complaining. It was a childish kind of complaining, sorta like the obvious complaining when your wearing a bunch of clothes in the summer, and proclaiming that you were hot, and therefore someone else should do something about it. Taizen didn't know what it was about Niima that made him act so...

Extrordinarily out of character. He would have a while to figure it out, he had a feeling he wouldn't like it. Because he was going to be used to Niima by the time he left... And he knew it was going to be pretty damn hard to forget that she wasn't nearby... Who knows, waiting to surprise him. When you stopped caring about non-menial things, you tend to stop getting surprised. The thing about Niima was: She kept surprising him.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 05, 2006 12:43 am

Geez, not even wounded and he was already complaining. Why wasn't she surprised? While he was busy scooting down the slope she slowly lowered into a hunched position, carefully scooping up snow and even more careful to make sure no rocks where in it. She began forming a snowball as she shrugged. As she though somethings over her hands went about lightly packing a second snowball. Once done she stood and watched him carefully move down. It wasn't until he was close to the bottom that her plan was put into action.

Sprinting forward she chunked the first snowball to the back of his head while leaping off the edge. Pressing her toes into the edge she managed to flip forward, body twisting so that she could be more facing him. With her free hand she swept it forward, bending air between herself and the ground for a safe landing at the bottom while the second snowball was tossed...straight for his face!

Mwhahaha! Oh yes, she wore the impish grin proudly, waiting to see if one or either of the snowballs hit target. "See! I was right! You would leave on a whim! You just better remember to say something to me before doing so! Or I just might have to track you down and give you a earfull for going back on your word."

The grin faded somewhat as she stood firm. "Noone taught me how to 'read people'. It's not..that I am reading you Taizen..I just..I guess..you remind me alot of myself?" The words caused her to pause. It was odd. It was like they where the same and yet..totally different. But then again he's yet to see 'that side' of her. All he's seen is her cheerful, caring side. Her brows knitted quickly at that thought. She was sure that if Taizen remained long enough he would see that side of her..Boy would that be a clash of the titans..

She brushed the static look from her face and focused back on Taizen. "And it seems like you've 'read' me somewhat.."

Taizen reached the bottom, and promptly connected the back of his head with the snowball. Taizen Smirked not bothering to wipe off thesnowball. When he saw Niima moving again, he was anticipating her actions, and melted the second snowball with two flicks of his wrists.

He just smirked at her, "Y'know, I have a mother, so I don't need another." HEsaid pleasantly to Niima. Inspecting the weeds he had arrived at. The plants were sturdy, and fleshy. with a single leaf. This leaf was fleshy, and was like an open fan. A fan that had been eaten by catterpillars. Becausethere were several precisely small, or large holes in the leaf. The stem reminded him of bamboo, it seemed strong. Maybe hollow.

He raised his hand and brought a small stream of water up to his finger tips, he made one downwardstrike, and the water followed, cutting the plant in half, cleanly. He picked the plant up with his water-free hand, and tucked both his hands, plant, and water, in his sleeve. "I read people because I want to make a good assumption about said person. I don't want to judge people by they're faults, or by they're perks. I want to judge people by how the two mix." As he said this, his hand made a claw. And thewater turned to ice. He softened it to snow. "But, even assumptions arent good, because then... you might be in... for a surprise..."

Well that was no fun. She almost seemed to pout when he melted the second snowball. Well...atleast one hit! "Lucky you.." Was all she had to say about his comment of having a mother. "Sorry I seem so 'overbearing'." It was almost a snap back but it had no sharpness to it. Simply a blunt, return of comment.

While he was busy with the weeds she leasurely moved towards a tree, resting her back to the rough bark. She watched silently, the smallest hint of a frown tugging her lips.

Slowly her gaze ventured to Taizen, or more so his back. She listened to his words and shrugged slowly. "People are all different, Taizen. That is life's largest Surprise. Once you have someone figured they just turn around and surprise you more.."

He shook his head a bit confused. Niima was so difficult to... predict. "So.. Whenever someon turns around, they have a new surprise? I'd like to test that theory." He said motioning with his head to turn around. "Turn around, hurry up." He said it really boredly, as if he was choosing to spend time with Niima as an alternative to collecting dust. "Go on, You got your self into this."
