Oh my! A Ukrainian topic! How do you get the cyrillic on an English keyboard??
And, by the by, this will sound strange to some.. please don't soeak to me in Ukrainian. Although I understand fluently, I want Gaia to remain a purely english experience.

It does seem to be a beautiful language. I'd like to learn it because I get tired of hearing loud Ukrainian and laughter and I want to know what's so funny. And it could help me to understand the horridly thick accents that I must deal with every other day as I have a class with someone from Ukraine. I'd love to learn it, but I'm already trying Japanese, Turkish, Arabic, and French... sweatdrop

I'd like to learn some basic Ukrainian, it's my #2 place to visit in the world. But I'm rather focusing on German until I can hold in-depth conversation in it. So for now, I'm just learning and reading about Ukrainian culture.
But one thought, I've seen the capital spelt many ways in English - Keiv, Kieff, Kyiv, Kyyv. Is it that there is no correct spelling from something originally written in the cyrillic alphabet re-written to the English one?
I'd love to hear a strong Ukrainian accent (by someone speaking English). Saying of hearing it, can anyone suggest a good Ukrainian band that I can download stuff off LimeWire? And not Okean Elzy, I already love 'em and have 8 albums. I tried asking in the music forum, but no one really knew anything.

To anyone who can type in Ukrainian on thier typical Windows keyboard...
Where the hell's the key for the letter Ґ? The key where it should be doesn't exist on Windows keyboards, so when I change the layout to Ukrainian, which key makes it appear?

Anyone know where I can find Okean Elzy's song lyrics (in roman alphabet)? I only have the words to Ya do tebe, can't find anymore.
I'm curious to the title meanings of my favorites : Ti sobi sama Koli tebe nema Ya do tebe Malo meni Mayje vesna Vishe neba Poyasni Kvitka Sosni
And also the word 'azha' (if I spelt it right), I hear it so often in Mayje vesna. Oh, and 'yako' or 'yago' (can't make out if it's a g or k), in Koko Shanel.
On something unrealated, I hear the most of Ukraine actually speak Russian and all of Ukraine can understand Russian, but not the other way around. But are things written in Ukrainian or Russian, or both? Things like stuff in shops, signs, mail, etc.
It was an oversight when I came to NL, I didn't think about that, and though almost everyone speaks English, I can't read anything. I have letters with things to post back and don't know what they're about.
