I agree with that. I completely hated Relena at the beginning... but I understood her better at the end. Relena definitely grows more than the others during the show - or at least, it's much more obvious that she does.

I honestly don't even think Relena's that bad in the beginning. Everyone says she acts bratty, but I don't see it.
One thing is in the first episode, how she complains that her father never has any time for her. Normally, this would seem a bit bratty, but look at the context: Darlian pulled her out of school to come along with him for a conference in space, and then didn't spend any time with her. I know he's a busy man, but the fact that he brought Relena along suggests to me that he thought he would have had some free time for her. Not only that, but Relena's attitude suggests that this has happened more than once. So really think about it: how would you feel if your mother or father took you on a business trip, promising to spend some time with you, but then got so caught up in work that you spent the whole time in the hotel room? How would you feel if it happened many times?
As for "obsessing" over Heero...honestly, it's a bit hard to blame her. She's spent the last 10-odd years living a very boring, sterile life. Heero is the first really dynamic, interesting person she's ever met. It's natural that she'd show an interest in him, instead of hanging out with the suck-ups she's been surrounded by her whole life. But honestly, I don't see obsession - I see a first crush affecting a girl who's basically lived in a bubble her whole life. If her reactions seem extreme, it's because it's her first chance to break from the mundane.

Once again, Void words it better than I could ever hope to...
Relena is a sheltered rich kid. Sheltered rich kids often overreact to such exciting things, so her reaction is really quite normal. Not only that, but by the end of the series she's actually become far more mature than the average 15 year old... become merely a figurehead for the entire world's government, and pulling off a highly inspirational and truthful speech anyways? Most adults can't do that. She's really quite a mature and intelligent young lady.

As much as she played the part of one, she was not just a pawn. She had her own goals to work toward, and in a way she reached them. The moment she gave up her idealistic ways and settled for something more realistic, she became a more tollerable and mature person in my eyes.

Definitely. Total world peace is a nice idea, but it's not likely to happen or, if it does, last for very long. People, on principle, hate people, and when it happens on a large enough scale, that alone can cause a war, and since people will always hate people it will always be possible to reach that scale, so war is simply an inevitability.

i know mine is pretty stupid but,
the last episode of Gundam Wing when Heero was about to destroy the falling piece of the colony. i can still remember it even tho it happend like 4 or 5 years ago. I LOVED that scene
