15th October (later) meeting with Aes
Syrenrei
The door to Aesculus's room was wide open, and he sat inside at his desk. His window too was open to let in fresh air- his room had become relatively stuffy because of all the time he spent holed up in there. The sweet smell of tree saps and leaves was drifting through the window pleasantly, and the warmer air of the castle mixed with other homely smells wafed in through the door.

Sitting at his desk, Aesculus was making notes of his meeting with Filix in the library for future reference. The quill held elegantly in one hand, he made long, swift strokes as if writing itself was an art he had long been trying to practice and perfect. Every sentence or so he would pause to dab his quill and ponder a moment before continuing his longhand.

Seeno
Ursa was making her way along that exact corrider towards Aesculus's room, trying to be quiet about it she tiptoed in the most unsual fashion, sliding a hand around the door and pushing her head forward for a look.

She noted Aes sitting comfortably at his desk, she wasen't the sort to interupt but she had to do something, as he paused, that was her chance, straightening upward and marching into the start of the doorway, she smiled and squeaked a sweet, "Hello!"

Syrenrei
He blinked and turned his head slowly, as if hesitant to take his eyes off the page. When he saw who it was he smiled warmly and stood, brushing off his robes.

"My apologies.. I must have been absorbed in my writing. It is good to see you again Ursa... I see you have grown. I hope the growth was not too painful for you..?"

Seeno
She grinned sheepishly and waved her hand forward, "No no Aesculus, I should be the one apologising, interupting like that, wasen't right of me..." she paused and gazed in, "growth was more of an interesting experience than something I could dub as painful..." she nodded, "may I ask what I interupted you from?"

Syrenrei
"Oh... it is nothing. I am just writing in my journal, transcribing a few things. Do come in- I am afraid I do not have much furniture, but you may have my seat." He motions to the plush seat he had just rose from, a dark wood with a beautiful golden upholstery. On the back of the chair was the name "Cortex" engraved, the name of his father.

Other than his chair and desk, he only had a bookcase, and a bed with a chest at the end of it in which to place odds and ends not displayed on the bookcase and changes of clothing. His entire room was done in shades of amber and ebony, seeming to be in harmony with his hair and eyes, although it was so sparse that his spartan treatment of one of the biggest rooms in the castle seemed hardly fitting.

Seeno
She wandered in and gazed around as she did as so, "Its wonderful in here...Oh no Aesculus, I don't need a seat, I'm perfectly fine as it is," she ushered him with her hands as to of sit back down.

She continued her gaze, "what sorts of books do you happen to own?" she asked slowly, still gawping at the room, "beautiful.." she whispered under her breath.

Syrenrei
"Oh... most of my books are actually from my Kithain or left over from my father... my favorite happen to be a few tomes on psychology... it's a study of the mind and the way people think and act. It's simply fascinating. I find it gives me some insight on myself... but enough of myself... how are your faring? I hope you were not brought here by troubles?"

He doesn't sit down, despite her ushering. He is a gentleman, through and through, and it would simply be rude to sit and leave a lady standing- if she would insist on standing, so would he.

Seeno
She smiles, "ah yes... That subject is interesting, but I stick to my herbalism," she winks proudly, "no, I have come to meet a friend once more, as I have not seen or heard from you in a long time..." she slips her hand in her pocket.

"Ah of course! And to give you...this.."

She slips the charm onto his desk.

Syrenrei
"A gift? I do not think I have done anything to deserve such a beautiful gift..." He looks at it, running his fingers lightly over the textured surface. Really, this sudden burst of gifts was amazing to him... even Rosa had come here with civil intentions and bearing a gift. What had he done to deserve such generousity?

Seeno
She smiled, "because it is only polite to return a gift once given," she smiled and recalled the plushie-bear and the wonderful note with a slight nod.

Syrenrei
"Oh... of course... well then, thank you." He gently lifts the charm and places it on the bookcase, displaying it with Rosa's lava lamp, the little water feature from Alces, the dragon statue from Filix, and the bamboo shoots from Lilium. It was becoming quite a display.

"I apologize if I have been scarce. I have found myself trying to study as much as possible before I take on my full position... I want to be most prepared to be the advisor to the court."

Seeno
She smiled looking at the display with awe, it was rather daint and looked nice, she turned back to Aesculus and nodded, "of course, after all these rumours, I guess your preparing more than ever..." she nodded.

Syrenrei
"Rumors? What are there rumors about?" He blinked, looking startled and alert all of a sudden- perhaps he had been TOO reclusive, and now he was paying for it... then again, Filix hadn't said anything to him the other day about rumors, and surely if she knew something that would effect his job, she would mention it. Perhaps only a few knew these "rumors?"

Seeno
She bit her lip and hastily replied, "Y'know..the Moon court rumours..activity.." she shrugged and smiled, "probably just a story to try and get us wound up..." she shrugged once more, confused with herself.

Syrenrei
"The Moon Court?" He blinked a few times... he hadn't heard anything of the Moon Court save Rosa's crazy notions that he, in fact, was of the Moon Court himself. He shook his head slowly... if they had been inprisoned and so freed, he supposed the Moon Court could just as easily be released.

"I suppose I should have seen such coming... if we are free, undoubtably they can be freed. Until they trouble our court I suppose it will only be a rumor, but I thank you, Lady Ursa, for telling me of such rumor. Sadly, it may be truth."

Seeno
She blinked back and shook her head along, "no-no, don't jump..." she sighed, "I read too much... too many fairy tales can make you go abit loony.." she blinked and half heartedly nodded, "if we are all being freed then...what... is the moon court sitting in its normal position? I don't know I don't know..."

She was arguing with herself in a way.

Syrenrei
"The Moon Court is most probably facing the same dilemna as us... we are small in number, for it is hard to locate Kithain. Much as we might despise it, both courts are about equal, and so I would suppose they face the same problems we do... small number, and not yet all aged and with title."

Seeno
"If they are indeed, if any... freed, and if so.. by whom?" she was winding herself in questions she knew, couldn't be answered by Aes, was a bit pointless really, but she contemplated...

Syrenrei
"Who knows? Descendants such as ours, I imagine, but no more than that do I know." He shrugged- it was a rumor, and although he would prepare himself for if it were actually true, he wasn't counting his chickens before they hatched. There was still good chance that not a single one was released.

Seeno
She nodded, and cleared her throat, "Aes," being the first time to have called him that, she blushed immediatally and corrected, "Aesculus.." she was left without what she was going to say, "Hm.." thinking once again she gazed into thin air.

Syrenrei
"Is there something troubling you?" He took her pause and ceiling gaze as a sign she was hesitant to ask him something, not that she forgot what she was going to say.

Seeno
She shook her head relunctantly, and looked back at Aesculus, "maybe I should go, I do not wish to tear you away from your studying any longer.."

Syrenrei
"Please... if something troubles you, feel free and at ease to tell my... for I keep all matters private that I am consoled on." He wouldn't push her to tell him... that would be wrong.. but he wanted to make certain that she knew if it was a matter she didn't want to solve alone, he would be there.

Seeno
She eyed Aesculus once more, "when I'm fit to tell you I shall, I promise you that... but for now I shall keep this to myself," she smiled warmly.

Syrenrei
"Very well... as long as you are aware I am here... everything comes in due time. I do wish you a wonderful afternoon, though, Lady Ursa." He smiled just as warmly in return- it was nice that there were composed ladies in this castle who tried to figure out their own matters... it was good to have these independant figures around.

Seeno
"As do I," she smiled back, "expect letters, for I shall write to you, I think we have started a wonderful friendship Aesculus, and I shall keep in touch, I know you are busy with your studies but maybe we can go riding one day, for I'm big enough now to ride Celenis," she nodded to confirm.

Syrenrei
"Mmmm... that would be nice. I have not ridden since before I was awakened by my Kithain, and I fear I may need someone to help me remember how to ride properly. I also owe Muris a visit, and perchance she too can join us. I look forward to seeing you again."

Seeno
"Ah yes, Muris," she nodded, "I shall look forward to that day, and as to you," she smiled and backed to the door, "goodbye Aesculus," she glanced at him for the last time before heading down the corriders.

Session Plot: Alces comes around to Ursa's chambers

Participants: Ursa and Alces

Setting: Ursas chambers.

Ursa at at her desk and dabbed a pen up and down off a piece of paper, she was heavy in thought but nontheless, completely fed up.

Nowadays she was always wanting to do something, rather than be confined to her chambers, writing, reading and researching, the door was wide open to let fresh air in.

She continued dabbing, but ended up placing it aside, and staring into nothing, really.

After having passed Ursa's room at least four times already, Alces had turned around and was just about to give up. He finally peeked in the open door. He stopped and stared a moment, wondering why he hadn't been able to find the room before. Shaking his head at himself he stepped into the doorway and knocked on the frame.

"Lady Ursa?" He called out quietly, just another way of letting her know someone else was there.

She turned her head aside immediatally, "come in.." she paused and stood up, pushing the chair back in behind her, waiting for the guest to come in...

The man glanced around breifly at the interior of the room. This was the first time that he had ever been inside the room, and of course, was curious as to what it looked like.

"Greetings Lady Ursa." He gave a slight bow of his head. He suddenly paused in mid-step as he took a closer look at her. Another one had grown? He blinked once before cleaing his throat, "I see you have grown up as well. I do hope you are feeling better?"

It was quite messy to be honest, but if he had ignored the fact, he would have seen a room built up with strange furs, a bookcase which was about medium sized, a desk beside that, and in the far right corner, a normal sized bed.

"Sorry for the mess, I'm preparing myself to decorate," she smiled sheepishly and blushed, "oh don't call me 'lady'" she grinned. "Sounds too..." she was trying to put her finger on it when the next question was fired by Alces.

"Indeed I'm, it was a rather interesting experience, but I recovered well.."

"But..." he started to protest at her request that he not call her 'Lady Ursa.' He had issues when it came to not calling ladies 'lady.' He tapped his fingers on his other arm's bracer and just nodded slowly, "Very well." Although he was sure not to say her name to keep from having to not say 'lady.'

He gave another quick glance around the room and smiled back at her, "I'm sure it will look lovely once you are finished. And it is good to hear that you recovered well." He was still smiling as he moved toward her and held out his hand, "I have something I would like to give you. However, I wasn't aware that you had grown, so I hope you don't find it too easy of a book." As he said the last word a small book appeared in his outstretched hand. Alces had been 'testing out' his concealment spell, and it had worked well, which just caused his smile to get wider.

She smiled and nodded, "thank you Alces," a grin tugged at the corners of her mouth. Her face almost lighting up as she clutched the book in both hands, "for me?! What have I done to have deserve a gift from you Alces?" she smiled once more, "thank you so very much Alces, your so very kind."

His face had lit up when he saw that she seemed happy with the gift. "You're welcome Lady Ursa!" He exclaimed in a happy tone. "I'm glad you like it." He was still grinning as he shook his head, "You just deserve it, you didn't and don't have to do anything. Everyone deserves a gift! I just thought you might find it useful since you are going to be using herbs to heal us all when we need it."

She smiled, not bothering to point out the 'lady', she really liked Alces, thus not commenting. "I'm sure not looking forward to that day... So unprepared, Aesculus is studying so hard... I'm barely doing anything...." she blinked and frowned to herself.

The happy expression on his face rapidly dissappeared. "Unprepared?" He asked slowly, wondering what she was referring to. He had only been talking about small little accidents, such as falling down steps, or some other small thing. "Unprepared for...the Moon Court?" His voice got rather low at the mention of the other court and his eyes were now watching her closely.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 16, 2004 12:23 pm

"No for future accidents-" she broke off and looked at Alces, her eyes narrowing, "I don't know...do you believe they are free? Like us? I don't know...." she blinked.

Alces was silent for a few moments after she had spoken. He was still watching her and made a nearly inaudible 'huh' noise as if thinking about something. "Yes...future accidents." He repeated before his voice returned back to its normal self rather than so quiet, "And I don't know either. I suppose they could be. After all, we have been released. However, I don't think anyone other than Lady Sajhiri has been finding the Kithain, and she would know for sure if someone was doing the same for the other court. And the only entrance I know of, is through the fairy ring in her tower, so if anyone else was trying to get into Tir Nan Og, they would have to go through her tower, and I'm positive she would know of everyone who goes in and out of her tower."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 16, 2004 12:33 pm

She rubbed her temples as his tone changed, "Its rather strange..." she paused once more, "I just don't know.." she narrowed her eyes and her tone lowered, almost too low, Alces wouldn't of been able to hear her low mumblings.

He had finally stopped staring at her so intently, and the expression on his face had also become much kinder like it had when he first entered the room. "Try not to think of such things. Think happy thoughts." He gave a nod of his head and continued with, "It isn't good if one worries all the time." Then he went to place a hand on her shoulder, "If they have somehow been released, I'm sure the King will let us know."
