Reiku blushed at the embrace and unexpected praise. Boy, Michael wasn't the least bit shy about expressing his feelings towards him, was he? Quite frankly, it flipped his world upside down. Even back with...him. Kyo... everything had been secret. Even when the twwo of them were alone and did...things...Kyo had never been very vocl about his feelings.
Once in a while, after they'd gotten into Kyo's father's liquor cabinet, he would tell Reiku he loved him. Reiku remembered how he relished those moments. Not like he'd met that b***h....he just went on and ...and on and on...and on some more, about her. How he despised her for that alone. Oh, he had plenty of other reasons, but that alone would have been enough to suffice.
Reiku hissed softly in pain as he raised a hand to his temple, feeling a fleeting pulse of pain. Quickly he dropped down onto the floor beside Michael, giving the boy's a thin smile.
"Ok, let's play....Er, jewish? What makes you say that, My-kun," the boy asked absently, rubbing his temples. "This game looks complicated."

"I don't know... It's just the name. Or maybe it's Greek." He smiled, but he watched Rei warily as he rubbed his temples. Had he done something to awaken feelings in Reiku's past again. Uhg, he wish he knew what to and not to do so that these problems didn't happen.
His thoughts made him want to change the subject for some reason. He couldn't help but blurt out, "I like Greek food..." He blushed. Crap! He hated doing that stuff. It was so embarressing.

"My god..you two are hopeless..." Ariko sighed, trying to display a look of disappointment as he internally breathed a sigh of relief. "I don't wanna embarrass you too so I'll just put this back." He walked to the closet and put the game back. "We'll just let it be known I'm the uncontested Yatzhee champion. No need to go schooling a bunch of pups like you, makes me a common bully....and I hate bullies."
Ariko sat down in the chair by his desk and smirked at the two boys across from him. Somehow all his friends were popping up wih significant others, and the girl he really started to like just burned him like toast. His bit of happiness was fading. As much as he wanted a girfiend, no other girl had shown intrest in him for quite some time.
"Damn, first Sanzo, now you two, makes me a bit jealous. I need to get me an arm piece pretty quick, I feel like the fifth wheel."

He smiled at Ariko. "Well, I'm so glad you spared us from your great wrath at Yahtzee. We are undeserving." He winked at Ariko with an even bigger grin. He nodded at his statement about couples. "Well, which way do you go? " This seemed like a simple question for someone who was so accepting so he didn't think of it being offensive. "You're a looker, for sure, and you seem really nice. I can't see how some of the girls or guys around here wouldn't take interest in you. Maybe your just not looking hard enough." He couldn't help but wrap his arm around Rei and squeez in a little. He was so lucky to have already found Reiku in this place.

Ariko raised his eyebrows as Micheal asked his which way he went.
"Well, I just have to let you know that I'm straight. And you'd be surprised, more guys come knocking than girls every do. It's not like I'm walking around with a sign that says 'Hit On Me Please!', but I wouldn't mind if a few from the female persuassion would come around for a rousing game of....Yatzhee!!" Ariko burst into laughter as the joke instantly turned dirty in his head.

Reiku blushed at the hug, but smiled nonetheless. He looked to Ario to hear his response, though he knew Ariko to be straight.
"Really, Ariko-san. I thought I saw you with a girl earlier. Surely you exaggerate. " He snorted. "What about that dark girl with the long hair.... what's her name..." Reiku was terrible with names, particularly those of those he had little to no interest in. She was a pretty enough girl....he just didn't go for girls. "Shinohara? She likes the bad boy's ne? She's a bit of a wise a** too, ne? I shudder to think what might happen if you two ever got together."
Reiku rolled his eyes. though Sachiko Shinohara was little more than an aquaintence to him, some folks had a reputation that followed them around Matrimony. She was one of those people.

"Oh yeah...her...well...she's just kind of...an aquaintence. But Shinohara on the other hand? Hmmmm......" Ariko kicked his feet onto the desk and folded his hands behind his head. "She is pretty damn hot. I was thinking about her before, but always thought she was out of my league. She's funny as hell though. Maybe I can make her laugh and just kinda slip into there."
Ariko thought about when he might actually have a chance to meet up with her. He didn't think she was in any of his classes but then again he blocked out most of the faces in class. If he didn't focus on the lesson, he'd be too busy joking and getting shocked. He learned that lesson in his first few days here at Midori.
"I got it. I'll look for her after the assembly tomorrow. She has to be there...everyone does. Maybe then I can finally find someone who can appreciate me for all that is The Magnificent Ariko Sa-tOOO...." {WHAM!!!}
As he daydreamed about meeting Sachiko tomorrow, he mistakenly leaned back too far, losing his balance and slammong to the floor. Ariko got up to his knees, fixed the chair, and slowly slinked back onto it.
"Damn...guess love hurts,..." rubbing his head, "...but didn't know it hurt this ******** quick." He just cracked a grin in classic Ariko fashion, smiling to the end, always looking for a laugh.

He couldn't help as he laughed deeply. "Oh man, that was priceless." He shook his head. "I'd forgotten about that assembly tomorrow. Gosh, I think I might need to get to bed. I'ts getting really late." He yawned. "Anyway, I'll see ya'll around, kay? Oyasumi nasai, Ariko-san. Oyasumi Rei-kun."

"Oi, Ariko-san, are you all right?" He covered his mouth in an effort to stifle the snickers that escaped him . That Ariko, he was always a funny one, whether Reiku liked to admit it or not.
Reiku pouted after Michael as he made his exit. He didn't even get a parting kiss? Reiku emitted a soft gasped, a deep, rosy blush blooming in his cheeks as he glanced guiltily towards Ariko, as though he had heard his thoughts or something. He didn't realize the disappointment of Michael;'s departure was clearly readable all over his face or he would have turned away, or at the very least changed expression. He sighed, stirring the spiky burgundy hair that partially screened his face.

Ariko closed his eyes and dropped his head down towards the floor. His hand rubbing the fresh sore spot on the back of his head.
"Oi, I'm fine. Mom always said I was hard-headed, guess she was right about something." Raised his head and glanced at Reinu. "Hey you're asking me if I'm okay, and you look like you just put your best horse down."
He could always tell if Reiku was really upset about something. The only thing he worried about with him was how would he react. Would he talk, or just botle it up and shut him out. He;d rather Reiku talk about it, but he wasn't going to pressure him.

Reiku straightened up, covering his discomfort with a small coughing fit. Lowering his fist he shook his hair out of his eyes.
"Do I? I didn't realize...it's just...All right Ariko-san, we're friends, ne?" It felt so weird to say such a thing, but strangley nice at the same time. Ariko really was his friend. Why hadn't he realized it before.? Had he deliberately ignored the fact, he wondered.
"So...so I can talk to you?" He blushed, not knowing how to proceed. He sighed and decided to foret careful wording, to just let whatever came out come out.
"It's just...dammit, I really like that guy. A lot. And it's really. One second I want to to...well, details aren't necessary, ne? But then sometimes he says something really sweet, and I freak out on him. I don't mean to, I just can't help it. I guess I don't know if I can trust him....I want to, I really do." Reiku rested his forehead against his drawn up kness and sighed.
"But I trusted Kyo too, ne? And look where that got me. A one way ticket to Matrimony, that's what."

Ariko stood up from the chair and walked over to Reiku, placing a hand on his shoulder, Ariko attempted to comfort the boy.
"Reiku, I know it's hard to trust people after what happened to you, but you can't go blocking the people who care for you out. He really seems genuine. Don't push him away, or you may never find true happiness. Hell, if Cyndir can find a way to trust Sanzo, and me for that matter, you can break down you're walls too."
Ariko released Reiku's shoulder and walked over to the dresser. He picked up a mason jar of pennies and turned back to Reiku.
"Okay, enough with the deep s**t. You know how hard it is for someone to really get some deep s**t out of me. You should feel honored, I have to keep my rep up as that 'smartmouthed sonofabitch'. I want to say something silly here...but I just can't. I'm gonna pitch pennies off the roof tonight. Want to come? But if you throw, you have to help clean up in the morning....no joke this time. No room for litter in Midori, ne?"

Reiku climbed up off the floor, giving Ariko a slight smile.
"Iie, I think I'm just going to head to bed myself. You have fun ne? And arigato for the advice, I shall defintely take it into consideration." He gave the boy a bow before making his way out the room.
"Oi, I know you wanna hook up with that Shinohara girl after the assembly, but we should sit together during it tomorrow, ne?"

"Sure Reiku, that sounds like a plan. Oh and by the way you know if you tell Shinohara a thing, I'll hunt you like a dog." Ariko shook a fist at Reiku as the two of them left the room together. "Hey I'm just screwing around Reiku, take that threat with a grain of salt."
Ariko left the room and checked his watch, he began to sprint down the hall and out the doors. "OI, SEE YOU LATER REIKU!!" The sound of coins jingling as he ran down the hall towards the roof.

Ariko burst into the room like a SWAT team as he raced to get ready for the assembly, and his date. He stripped with reckless abandon and rushed into the shower, this time he remembered to take his socks off.
He turned the knobs quickly as he hoped into the shower and began to furiously attack his body with the bar of soap. "Have to be nice and clean meeting up with her Ariko, no need to stink up the joint."
As he rinsed the thick lather from his body and hair and immediately turned off the water and reached for a towel. He skid a bit on the tile floor as he tried to run back into the room. He dried himself as fast as possible before he began the tornado dance of dressing.
With a fresh set of clothes on, he slipped back into his shoes, grabbed his cards and made off for the hallway. Locking and slamming the door as he ran to the hallway door.
