I definitely want a career in dance, but im not sure if professional is the way for me to go. I might try it out, but (although im still VERRRY young) i know that someday I want to be a mother and so i think that dance studio is the way for me to go.

Well YES!!! I would L-O-V-E to just dance all the time! But it won't get me anywhere adn i won't make much money so my dream is to go to medical school and then have my own practice. sometimes doctors only work like 3-4 days a week if there really good and that is my plan. i will become a great doctor and then on my days off i will run my own dance studio and become a member of dance masters. hhhuuuhhhh...i can picture it now!

I don't. Ballet is just a hobby for me. Plus, it's too hard to try and be professional when you start at my age. I'd rather just dance out of my love for dance. : )

PacificX This is sad, Im the only professional here? You not the only professional... I have a solid job choreographing with a gymnastic studio 7 days a week and having them compete... P.S. If you want to be a professional then there is plenty of money out there. You, as an artists, need to be smart about it though. Do something like open your own studio.. that's what my plans are... and did you know that in 2010 all high school students will be required to take atleast one hour of dance or theatre per week??? It's an act in the state law that is passing as we speak. Follow your dreams for real.. if you want to dance than dance... I am getting my dance education degree along with my nursing degree so I will always have a back-up plan from dancing. Your parents are right... It's hard work and hard to land jobs, but if your smart then it WILL work out and you will have work... Promise you that

i do. i honestly do wish to be a professional dancer. it's been my dream for as long as i've been dancing. but honestly, i don't think my technique, artistry, and ability are good enough to get to professional status.
i want to dance in a professional ballet company for a few years. and im not talking pro like abt and joffery ballet. thats rediculous for me to even think about.
but like Nashville ballet. thats a company that i could strive to get in.
till i decide im too old to be doing this, i'll keep working towards getting into a company.

I want to be a professional dancer in modern, hiphop, and jazz.
That's why Im going to collage in NY and do my major for Biochemistry Engineering and go to dance at the same time !!!

I'm not going pro. I haven't been doing any real dancing (I haven't been in any classes, just dancing for fun) in a while. I'm pretty realistic, I know that I don't have the skill for that.
I was planning on going to university, actually. c:
