My show is THE NEED FOR SPEED: A TRIBUTE TO NASCAR It is cool but the one thing i hate is that i have to haul a** to the FS and I have to get there early to pick up equipment right and it's during a ballet. WTF A BALLET. the tempo i think is like 120 or lower. THen all of a sudden it changes for 2 pages then goes back it is so weird.

It's 5:32 AM, and I'm awake. Why, you ask? Because it's time for the first parade of the year! Pueblo State Fair. Parade starts at 10 AM, we're unit 109, so L says we probably step off around 10:30. Nevertheless, since it IS in Pueblo, and we're in Aurora...
*shrugs*
I'll be back tonight with some funful bus stories.

hey, I'm completely new to this forum. I attend JMU and I'm a marching royal duke! go me! Ahem...
I don't really think we have a show them as of right now. We're just learning traditional stuff for the school. Favorite show in HS was definitely Blues Brothers:
Everybody Needs Somebody to Love I Can't Turn You Loose Soul Man Flip, Flop, and Fly Elwood's Blues (HORRAY FOR PERCUSSION FEATURES!) Think Respect I Can't Turn You Loose Reprise
Yeah that was fun

I've always wanted to do a Nitendoe theme. Play like Super Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong. Ha ha ha. I'm such a loser.

I've alwas wanted to do some John Williams music, but he apparently doesn't license his stuff to marching bands; we change it too much. *sigh* Next topic of discussion: Your Practice Schedule. How rigorous is yours? We practice on-field 3 hours, from 6 to 9, on Monday and Wednesday, music rehersal after school for about an hour on Tuesday and Thursday, Friday is a football game, and Saturday is usually a competition.

We've played John Williams stuff for concert . . . but I guess a composer like himself think it's degrading to have marching bands perform his music- because as you know you have to rewrite it some way to make it fit on the field. Ha ha ha. I never thought about it but there are no Star Wars or Indiana Jones or Harry Potter themed shows. Of course . . . Harry Potter doesn't exactally the most exciting score I've ever heard. xp
My schedule? We practice in class for an hour Tuesday-Friday. Tuesday nights we have practice anywhere between 5:30 to 8-9. Friday afternoon we practice right after school and that's about it . . . Idid hear about this one band that practices every day after school for three hours. Or maybe four times a week! eek This is a band right near me supposivily. But yeah my band doesn't do competitions- there are none in this area but this year if we do good at state contest we might be able to go to one! whee *crosses fingers*

Ours isn't bad at all. Three hours, 5-8 PM, on Tuesday/Thursday. Plus the fifty-odd minutes of class time every day. Oh, and we have a five-hour rehearsal this upcoming Saturday...
