This book is my absolute favorite. I read the entire thing on my flight to Italy, and read New Moon on the flight home. Then I read Eclipse in about a day after it came out.
I can't express how much I love this seires.

At the emotional blackmailing physical threats orders demands request of my friends, I've started Twilight no less than three times. The first time, I got to the fifth page. Second time, I got to the twelfth. I tried reading it a third time, thinking I was just not in the right frame of mind, and I finally made it to page twenty-five or so. This is what is known as self-inflicted torture. I just cannot get into it, and I don't know why. I mean, I like vampires. I like werewolves. I like romantic triangles. I don't know why I can't get interested.
Honestly, I think it's just something in the writing style that doesn't work for me, as another of my friends urged me to read The Host (which is again full of things I should like), and I couldn't get into that either. It's still sitting at the bottom of my bag, waiting for me to try and finish it.
But I hear so many good things about Twilight that I suppose it must be pretty good. Maybe I'll borrow it from the library and try it again. I'm in the age range it's meant for. It's full of things I know I like (anything supernatural tends to make me happy). And my friends are nagging me about it. Time to give it the good old college try once again.

Usually when I finish a book that I really like, I get a certain feeling, like an accomplished kind of feeling, and a bit of excitement. I didn't get that when finishing any of the Twilight books. Sure, just the sheer curiosity of what happens to Bella and whatnot got me to finish them, but that was it.

The first book was cute. No great literature, but a fun little read. I thought New Moon was, for lack of a better word, dumb. I read a chapter of Eclipse before throwing it on the floor and never touching it again. Her writing style is that of a 13 year old fan fiction writer, but it was tolerable throughout Twilight and New Moon. The third book I just could not read.
