heh, I'm just glad they have used clothing stores, so i can make like a pirate with the cheap prices. You'd be surprised how many new clothing items come in to a used clothing store. 5 dollars beats 50 i think any day.

I love second hand store, cause i like vintage things, or making something ungly into something really pretty.

I hate how they make big people clothing...at least on me it's either waaaay too long with no width or it's to friggin wide with no length. Grr why can't they be proportionate!

kissingfategoodbye I hate how they make big people clothing...at least on me it's either waaaay too long with no width or it's to friggin wide with no length. Grr why can't they be proportionate! This is why I like making my own clothing. I like making tailored looking clothes that are fun or pretty, without being made to look like I'm covering fat, or have football pads on my shoulders.Which is what it looks like with the clothes from Torrid. At least that's my opinion. And I can't stand polyester. Which is just about all they make their clothes out of. I'm a sucker for soft, natural fabrics. I also like going to the Salvation Army, and our Cluster 13 store. I got a cool sweatshirt for $0.50, and a beautiful red pantsuit with black lace for $1.00. And, I managed to find a full length green wool coat for $10. mrgreen

I dislike how most clothing companies that make clothes for fat people are either too expensive for poor little sometimes when they can afford it college kids like me, or else they're granny clothes.
I'm very finnicky, though. And I have odd taste. I was shopping with my friend the other day and we were in claire's when I bought these really bright dangly earrings with rainbow beads and buttons and stuff. I looked at the earrings and said "You know, I have such odd taste.... I prefer cutesy or skanky clothing. I friggin' love both." She said I could pull it off, which I definatly can with the cutsey, 5th grade stuff, I don't know about the skanky.
Otherwise they make the ugly crap that I don't think even skinny girls can pull off.
I really want to start my own clothing store.

In nicer stores I expect a sizing difference since they seems to encourage peopl to lose weight just to fit into their skanky clothes... but I just found out about Steve and Barry's (everything $6.98 or less!) and their biggest size is a 16, which is what I usually wear. Well, the shirts there I have to get an XL or XXL instead of a L... and the biggest bottoms they have are a 16 and they fit like a 14 almost... So I buy them and get home and try to stretch them out hoping the button doesn't break... (and one did when I sat down, it made me feel so fat...) crying
But I'm getting used to it... Hopefully it'll encourage me to lose weight... I hope.
