"GIT!" He shakes his foot in frustration, trying to shake the creature loose, causing both dogs to perk their ears in curiosity, grumbling to each other, heads tilted. "C'mooon, Getoff!" He protests, frustrated. "I ain't got time for some over grown barn cat to play games with me!"

User ImageKayin chirped in suprise as he was shaken off, sinking back down to his belly to look up at the man. He coudln't understand, he fed him, now he wanted him to leave him alone? The cub coudln't think of why this would be... maybe he had scared him.

He chirped again, slowly getting to his paws and looking back in the direction he had come in. Utomo would be hungry... they always were. But they coudln't hunt. He wanted to explain it to the peach thing- but he coudln't even understand the mouth-things he made.

Bat scowls at the thing, shaking his head as he kneels briefly to shake out his pant leg. "No chawing, got it? I aint playin. I dunno where your maw went but I am -not- her...I got two handfuls of dog without a bigger handful of 'lion'." He notes, straightening up again, wondering when he had silently desided to talk to the thing like a pet.

User ImageThe cub sat back on his haunches, panting a bit as he glanced back to where his family would be. He had to get something for them...they'd be hungry. Utomo was always working so hard for him, if he gave up now...

He snorted, looking back up to the hunter, maybe he would understand him, "I....w...hun....geeytr eets for Utomo." He explained though it would seem like another slurred series of pathetic chirps and whimpers, "I need br...brying back eets f...fo....Utomo."

((Bah. XD *Tosses a pup in randomly* I'm getting too antsy with this. *Sighs*))

Small feet trod over the ground as a small white, gold, and teal pup trotted towards some unknown area. She didn't really know where she was going, but Kizaki knew that there was excitement in this direction, excitement and adventure beyond what she had ever known. Jem green eyes sparkled in the sunlight and she wagged her tail at a smell she didn't know. What was this? Was it adventure?

No. There was something wrong with this smell. Her eyebrows pulled together and the teal lines between her eyes scrunched together in a strange manner. She was a little worried about that scent on the wind. It smelled of smoke and of death, of pain and of metal. Yes, Kizaki was a mere pup, but she knew those smells very well because all types of scents flowed down with the stream. She had found out over a long amount of time that spent there what each scent meant, sometimes swimming up the stream until she found the source, sometimes letting whatever it was just leave. She was insanely curious about many things in her young way, but this wasn't one of them. A low grumble came from the small female's muzzle and she walked forward slowly, not sure if she wanted to know, but something pulling her anyway.

The chief wasn't expecting to see much, he had managed to call most the dogs back from the lion cub and the strange white man. As he noticed a rather strange pup he blew the horn around his neck and pointed with a whistle to the wild dog pup, hopefully if it all worked they would at least get one pup today!

Abasi looked to the cheif. His eyes folling where the whistle was pointed, he nodded, a sly grin appearing on his face before he looked at the wild dog pup. He approached it quickly and silently, trying to sneak up on the young one best as he could, but trying to seem as if he did not pose a threat.

Large ears pricked up brightly and Kizaki wagged her tail for a moment before she noticed something move to her side. Well, two somethings actually. Her eyes snapped to the source of the whistle before twisting back to the figure creeping towards her.

The tail stopped wagging as Kizaki realized what she'd gotten herself into. Something told her that she wasn't going home for a bit and she tried to keep herself from panicking.

The hunter knelt down, looking at the wild dog at eye level. He was no threat. Well, thats what he wanted the pup to think. Thats how he hunted. He put the bow back onto his back, whistling slightly at the dog, holding his hand out.

Asad had no luck in finding much of anything, but at the cheif's horn he glanced about for the other hunters, perhaps one of them had found the dogs. That's when he spotted the pale man. How could the rest of the tribe be so insanely FOOLISH? The cheif even... the stranger was facing a young but obviously starving lion. Any true native of the land knew the dangers of facing a lion, a starving one was twice the threat, and a young one meant one of two things- it was abandoned or the pride was near by.

"Bat!" He called out as he ran for the man, holding his spear at the ready and placing his hand on the coil of rope he had been armed with to help secure a dog.

He stepped up beside the pale man, "Did it bite you?"

"No, but it won't gawdamned Get either." He snarls, the curse in his usual drawling american english. "Damn dogs got their noses too full of this little ball of fluff to tell me where it's mother is either..." He curses, obviously as conserned about this as Asad is. He's impressed that the boy, for all his bravado, has actually turned back to give him a hand when the rest of the hunters seem to have pegged him off as lion food. Chalk that up to his standing as an outsider, he supposes, but damn....

"We can kill it and see if she comes...", he looked around sharply, "The hunters spotted dogs... do you think there'd be both so close?" He wasn't soo sure about it. A pride of lions, while powerful, was far smaller than the packs of wild dogs and the two were highly territorial. Either the lions were invading the dog's territories or the dogs were in lion territory, neither seemed as likely but they were the only two options he could come up with at the moment.

"Dun think so..." He growls. "Glad they got their damn dogs..." He adds, though this statement is heavily tinged with sarcasm. "Surprised you aint over grabbin one, being all keen on that..." He drags his foot forward, making an grab for the grey cubs scruff. "But if you wanna be killin lions, I'd wait for it's momma." He notes grimly, prepared to drag the cub up off the ground, heavy as it is, if he can get a good grip. "This lil' bit'd be like shooting fish in a barel." This odd expression which he somtimes uses seems to mean 'too easy', though it doesn't seem very good for the barrel....
PostPosted: Fri May 19, 2006 10:55 am

Asad lifted his spear as the cub was picked up, squeeling in his slurred tone, both in suprise and shock. He didn't move to protest much, it was instinct to simply tense up when picked up by the scruff. He was older, but stunted in growth and thin as anything. His fur was in horrible shape, very little had been actually groomed even within the cub's reach.

"What you wanna do with it then?" He glanced over, slowly poking at the cub's foot.

Bat humphs thoughtfuly, mouth working thoughtfuly, though usualy he'd be doing this with a lit cigarette in his mouth, indicative that he'd really like to light up.
"Hmph. Good question." His eyes narrow even more than normal as he turns the squealing cub thoughtfuly for a look, then grins, lopsided. "What d'ya think, boyo?" He says, an impish light in his eyes. "Think we could train a lion?"
