((Cool. I've finally finished my profile.))

Name: Bastet
Type: Egyptian Cat Goddess
Class: Goddess
Mythology of Origin: Ancient Egyptian
Description/Picture: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Weapon: Staff/Magic
History:
Bastet had relished being a well-respected goddess until those who believed in her and worshipped her began to dwindle and she was forced to fade away with the rest of the gods and goddesses.
Now she is delighted for an excuse to exact revenge on those who took away so much of her power.

First Post:

Bastet paced to and fro in the medium-sized room she used as her office. This war was harder than she thought it would be when she had agreed to join as the commander of the Sphinxes.
What should she do next? Should she initiate the next attack? If so, where? When? How many troops should she send? Should she join them?
There was a knock at the door.
"Enter," Bastet commanded absentmindedly.
A young sphinx walked in and whispered into her ear. There had been a skirmish by Lake Nasser and the Sphinxes had won!
Bastet hugged the quite surprised messenger. The good news had brought her out of her bad mood. But only for a moment.
"However," the messenger told her. "There were great casualties and many have gone missing."

Kayt raced as fast as she could towards the city, it was on a lake and fire had taken some building. What could have happened and why attack this city it wasn't the largest and certainly not home to any major leaders. "Please not all be dead," Kayt prayed that fire and Machin hadn't gotten all.
By the time Kayte got there, she was nearly going to colapes from the running. Despite the urged to rest, Kayt moved through the battlefield searching for survivers

((Oh okay bye lioness))

Bastet sighed. These were the ways of war. "Here's for your troubles. Tell General Amon to report to me and bring his troops home as soon as he can," she told the messenger, giving him some coins. "You may go now."

Kayt walked up to one of the sphinxes when all of a sudden it was wide awake and had pinned Kayt down to the ground, "Wait please! I am on your side!" Kayt cried out in egyptian putting her arms over her head as a shield when the sphinx raised her unwounded paw to strike at her face
"You are human, you lie!" The wounded sphinx growled back
"I am a water mage, I came to heal the wounded," Kayt's heart was pounding, even when the sphinx backed down off her and she could breathe easier again

Bastet sighed. What could she do now but sit and wait? She knew the situation of only one faction of her army and she could do nothing about it at the moment. She needed more information before she made her next move and she was anxious.

Kayt sat up and opened her container of water, and using her magic she let out a stream of water keeping it afloat in mid air and sent it wrapping around the sphinx. The water glowed with white light as it slowly settled on the sphinx's wounds before melting away leaving a wound area healed. Kayt moved form sphinx to sphinx, some she found dead and others just barely alive. At one point she ran out of water in her container and had to use water from the lake itself, this went on while longer till a group of sphinx showed up and talked to the one she had first met

Bastet lifted one of her small, cat-like ears and listened for even the slightest amount of noise. After confirming that no-one was near, she slumped into her chair and let tears run down her cheek. Had the reinforcements she'd sent arrived yet? How many were still alive from the skirmish? What was the enemy doing now?

Kayt went on acting like she didn't care but she knew the two sphinxes kept glancing her way and this made Kayt rather uneasy. To add to that she was growing steadily more and more tired but once again she didn't say anything about it. An hour later someone was finaly able to take over the task of healing, "You can rest now, Mage, just don't wander off," Kayt nodded and stood up walking over to the lakeshore and layed in a patch if tall grass

Unable to wait patiently, Bastet left her small castle, giving her second in command authority while she was gone.

Finally arriving at Lake Nasser, Bastet paused to catch her breath. When she looked up, she became aware of what used to be one of her favorite spots for a mid-morning stroll, now a blood-stained graveyard, filled with the dead and dying.

Kayt had dosed off slightly when she heard the sphinxes come to attention not too far of hearing the words, "Lady Bastet!" Kayt's eyes opened realizing who they were talking about getting to her feet and looking around

"Somebody tell me exactly what happened," Bastet ordered in the calmest, most commanding voice she could muster at the moment. "Tell me the exact truth. No lies, no bias."

Kayt made her way over to the grouping sphinxes around Bastet. For years, even growing up as she did, Kayt had admired the goddess and meeting her in person face to face seemed... well it seemed to her an unlikely even

Bastet listened patiently to the sphinxes' story, occasionally asking for more detail or further information.
"Well," she said at the conclusion of the tale. "Yes, you did well. Do not leave this spot farther than you must. Find a better, nearby site to make camp and move your tents and troops there. If possible, set up one or more decoy camps. From now on, regularly send messengers to tell me what is happening here."
The sphinxes gathered around her dispersed, carrying out her orders, leaving a red-haired, plainly dressed human woman, looking rather akward among so many sphynxes, approaching Bastet.
"What brings you here, mage?" Bastet asked, turning towards the tired-looking woman.

Kayt was looking around as the sphinxes started to dispers looking up only as she heard someone talk to her. Kayt's eyes met Bastet's and she froze, she hadn't realised whop it was talking to her till now, "Oh! lady Bastet," Kayt bowed to her
