It is my sincere hope this guild does not die. I used to attend a church where real-life drama tore our congregation apart. Honestly I'm surprised that church is still standing.

Just relax and hang out people! So what if I'm Lutheran, she's Baptist, he's nondenominational, and you are Methodist? We're all Christian! Spread the love!

*Hugs everybody!*

I agree! 3nodding We need to try to get along or no one will be talking on here anymore....and I don't want to see that.

*hugs everyone too*

I am in the same boat with my church as Antel Daisy. I still attend the church but it is not the same. There was a conflict between the pastors and one person and they fired the pastors for it. My church is not the same witthout them. I can see church falling in the future and we need to stand up to keep it alive.

Enough crap and drama happens in normal life, why must people create more of it? Are they all sadists or something?

Sometimes I wonder about that too....

I mean what is there really to gain from winning an Internet debate/arguement/etc.?
Nothing is the answer.... nothing!
So suck it up folks and for God's sake (if not for the guild's sake, your sake, or my sake) GROW UP ALREADY! mad

Ok, I am done with the rant.
How is everyone? ^_^

Although I JUST joined, I can understand where you guys are coming from on the argument thing. I was at a church which fell apart as a kid, and I have friends who were very hurt by the same sort of situation. It's not cool when a church decides to split because of differences in doctrine, or when Christians fight without attempting to understand each other.

However, it's really important to remember that peace does not mean "never fighting". Some issues which will cause a lot of debate are really important to talk about. The important thing is to approach these debates maturely and, if someone refuses to be convinced of your side of things, not get offended or angry with them.
[I'm only saying this because I struggle with that myself, I'm not just preaching in general.]

Although sometimes it seems better to just not talk about things which could possibly cause a rift, it's important to remember that conflict in the right places can be good. It can refresh and renew faith as well as destroy it.

I agree it is good to discuss and debate issues that are important... It's just that about this time last year we had some very immature folks on here and they rubbed everyone the wrong way. (During that time I got lots of PMs questioning why I kicked out a few trouble makers, etc.... Well, I am the mod, and so I don't want the rest of the guild to get eaten alive by a few very opinionated folks that want to force their beliefs on everyone else.)

Otherwise though: Now we are back to square one on this guild and therefore debating and such are fine (as long as there isn't flaming involved)! 3nodding

Too often I have seen groups of Christians fall apart over a fight they've had or at least flame each other to death for an extended and ridiculous period of time burning_eyes (both in regular life and here on the 'Net) and it's so sad.... really.

To discuss is indeed very important and I'd like to see activity on this guild again (without me having to harrass members about their need to be occassionally active and such). Please, feel free to post as much as you want or as little... but please post often! And do start topics (if there isn't or doesn't appear to be a thread for it) as this guild needs a jump start I think.

I'm sorry that happened. It's never fun to have to kick people out of things, even if they're really obnoxious. sad And being flamed at is obviously not that fun either.

I'll do my best to think of constructive threads and stuff to post. I like this guild, and I'd like to help it become more active however I can.

Just keep posting daily. And try to think of interesting things to talk about.
