Siarbee Well, again, I feel we're confining the Lord to the rules of Earth. But, he is above those. For all we know, it isn't even a physical mark. Although, I may be going over people's heads with that one. but then you saying that it isn't possible means he's confined to your rules.

I don't think he's saying that it isn't possible, just that it isn't necessarily that.
I think it would probably some sort of "birth"mark or, as someone else mentioned, a scar.

I think it would probably some sort of "birth"mark or, as someone else mentioned, a scar. right, but it is WRITTEN on his thigh. not carved or just a red mark. It says "written on his robe and on his thigh". Scars are not written, birthmarks are not written.

Very true, I hadn't thought of that.
Anyone have easy access to other translations? I'm wondering what other interpretations of that are around... (I have the the New International, as well as a French version lying around...)
What translation is the one you originally found?

When it's not nearly 2am, I'll track down my French Bible and see what that interpretation is.

Admirable_Mention Since this is a christian guild, I thought I might as well strike up some bible talk. About a week ago I was at a Bible study and someone had mentioned this verse - "On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." - Revelation 19:16. This is of course in reference to the return of Jesus during end times, and an interesting point was brought up. The person said it sounded like the Bible was saying that Jesus would come back with a tatoo on his thigh. I don't really know if that's what it means or not. I just thought I'd ask what everyone here thought.

So technically God would put it there. lol that's a really good point. smile I think that God wouldn't have a problem so much with having a tattoo as opposed to what the tattoo actually represents. The concern might also lie under the "graven image" category. Another concern was associating yourself with "ungodly" groups of people. In old testament times, it was probably the pagans that were getting tattoos. God didn't want His people running around looking like pagans.
