"Oh..." Malaika replied a hushed tone, her gaze falling towards the ground, which was also bathed in vibrant red light. "I see..." Her eyes still intent on the ground, she took step closer to Flash, almost as if the mere mention of a villian frightened her.
This was likely the case judging by her next inquiry, which was spoken in the same cautious, weary tone: "You...you don't have to worry about them anymore, do you? Villians, that is. Uh...none of them came with you...did they?"
She sounded almost as if she were afraid of an answer.

He shook his head. "Well none came out of my comic if thats what you mean...But there are a dozen or so that emerged from there own...For some reason I don't think the meadow will be as safe as it was before-" He stopped and looked at her, and gulped not wanting to make her anymore nervous then she was. "But thats alright...I'm here to protect you..."

"I know...but I'm not worried about me." Mal scoffed, her eyes revealing the true concern she was experiencing. "I'm scared for you! Don't...worry about protecting me if you ever DO cross paths with someone...less than favorable. I'd never end up forgiving myself if you went and..." She paused, looking away. She dared not finish her sentence, but knew Flash would probably figure out what she was going to say, anyways.
"Just concentrate on keeping yourself alright, okay? I'll manage, I'm not COMPLETELY helpless, you know?"

Flashes head sagged, finishing off the sentance in his own head. "I'd never make you go threw that terrible pain; you've been threw so much already. It would be irresponsible to leave you alone; but if anyone threatened you, I would take my life to save you...Thats how much you mean to me..." He sighed hoping that it never came to that in the future.

Sensing Flash's distraught tone, Mal reached over and licked his cheek, trying desperately to reassure him.
"And I'd do the same for you, naturally!" She replied quickly, her gaze remaining fixed on Flash. "But...but that's not going to happen. I won't let it. No matter what goes on, we're going to walk out together. Got it?" Her voice was stern, commanding, repressing all traces of the slight fear she was experiencing.
"Together..." She repeated distantly, stroking the top of Flash's head absently with a paw.

He nodded and secretly hoped that to be true; but he knew how villans worked and wasn't sure how safe she would be with him. "Would you still love me if you knew your life was in danger every second that you were around me?" His auds dropped, in sadness knowing that she would probally leave him.

"Of course!" She replied without so much as a second of thought, nuzzling Flash affectionately. "It's a risk I'm well aware of, and one I'm more than willing to take!! You don't need to worry about me, okay?"
She paused, smiling pleasantly, "I'll always love you, no matter what happens! No freaky hell-bent maniac can change that! Besides, how fun can life be without a little danger, eh?" She flashed the pup a mischevious grin, praying silently she could cheer him up.

He sighed again, but a tiny flicker of a smile danced accross his face. "You'd stay with me, even if you knew that one day; you could end up being a pawn for some evil villan?" He thought about his brother who could pause as a great threat to both of them. He snuggled into her warm pink coat. "I glad to hear that though...I was worried..."

"Like I told you before, it doesn't matter to me! I can take care of myself, trust me. I won't go down without a fight, honest! There are certain...pluses to being an adult." She laughed softly, curling her tail around Flash.
"You don't have to have superpowers to open a can of whoop-a** on someone!" The same wicked smile remained present on her face as her gaze wandered, making it fairly obvious she was off daydreaming.
A sudden thought which had crossed her mind only recently brought her back down from the clouds, however, causing her to turn and narrow her eyes at the golden and scarlet pup.
"Wait a second...you speak almost like you're talking about someone in particular...Is there...something I don't know?" She inquired sharply, raising a cautious brow at Flash.

Flash sighed again, not wanting to tell her about his brother. "Umm well- No, there isn't anyone..." But he bit his tounge as he said that, knowing in the back of his mind that his brother was lurking there...
"Tell ya what...I'm going to go to the meadow and get us some food- I'll be right back m'dear." With that he nuzzled her and gave her a kiss running off towards the meadow.

Flash's brother had indeed been lurking. The blue and white Talaye had been hiding in a nearby clump of bushes since early morning, watching over the two. So his brother Flash had a girlfriend eh? That made things MUCH more interesting...
An evil grin spread across the pup's face as his brother ran off for food. Granted he was fast, but he should be able to execute his plan before his return. Without warning a flurry of throwing stars erupted from the bush, sending what was once a serene place into the midst of chaos. The throwing stars sped towards Malaika, aimed for paws and legs. He didn't want to kill her...just injure her enough to make her less willing to fight. For the moment the Talaye was content with watching from the bushes. He'd show himself after the throwing stars hit home.

Malaika nodded at Flash's fleeting form, heaving a heavy sigh. He was hiding something...she knew it... Her suspicious thoughts were interrupted, however, by an explosion of pain radiating from her appendages. Hardly aware of what was going on, she peered down only in time to watch helplessly as blood began spurting from the various throwing star-lined wounds that were peppered across her legs.
"W-wha?!" She exclaimed, her legs giving way from beneath her and causing her to crash ruthlessly to the ground. "What the HELL IS GOING ON?!" She growled through clenched teeth, struggling to stand up once more. She soon found her attempts futile, and began squirming uselessly in the dirt in an attempt to inch out of site. The stars still clung to their respective targets, their sharp edges continuing to dig into her wounds.
"DAMN!" She screamed, eventually giving up and lying still. All she could do was hope and pray Flash would return, and soon.

A cruel laugh sounded from the bush as the blue and white target marked pup stepped forth. How odd for such an evil sounding noise to come from a pup...they were supposed to be innocent! This one however was FAR from it.
"I wouldn't keep struggling beautiful...it only drives the points in more."
The pup padded closer, staying just out of clawing or biting range. He flashed her a grin somewhere between conniving and pure evil as he looked over her struggling, injured form.
"See what happens when ya date a hero? The villains always come lookin for ya..."

"You're just a stupid little pup! I'm not afraid of you!" Malaika snarled in a suprisingly harsh tone, especially judging by her rather pathetic appearance. "How pathetic are you; using some stupid throwing stars to do your dirty work!?"
She paused to draw in a forced breath, wincing noticibly. "What do you have against Flash, anyway? DAMMIT what do you have against ME?!"

"You're the only pathetic looking one here dear....besides, gotta use the gifts ya have no? Flash has his speed...I have my aim."
He looked her over again, the same grin upon his face.
"What do I have against Flash? What...he didn't tell ya who I was?"
He faked a gasp and a hurt face...sarcastic thing that he was.
"Why I'm his loving brother! And that hero has been driving me insane since the moment I stepped outta that comic...I figure its about time I pay him back."
The pup padded around Malaika, grabbing her tail in his mouth. He slowly...VERY...slowly...began dragging her off by it. Why the heck did Flash have to date an adult anyway?! Just made the kidnapping so much harder...
