Kiuma panted as she burst from the trees in smooth flash of crimson fur. So intent on haste to catch the pair, the lioness ran full into the object of her head-long dash. A yelp escaped her as she bounced of his broad side, sent sprawling into the dirt before she could recover her wits. "Tanaka!" She gasped, her chest heaving with exertion as she rolled over and climbed to her cream-tipped paws. "I was trying.... to catch you." Her purr was rough and broken as she butted against his shoulder, limbs trembling beneith her in reaction.

For a moment, Tanaka was startled into silence as he nearly tripped over the red lioness. When he heard her yelp, a flash of rage shot through him followed immediately by a wave or relief when he realized she hadn't been harmed, that the yelp was simply because she'd rushed into him, not because some other being had dared to harm her.
Sighing quietly in relief, he gently nudged his head against her neck, golden mane dancing across blood red fur. As angry and vicious as he had been mere moments before, he couldn't help but feel at peace in the presence of the lioness at his side.
"You didn't think I'd leave you behind did you?"
A faint smile crossed his maw, of course he wouldn't have, couldn't have. And though he may not have realized it yet, every part of him belonged to Kiuma...or maybe he did realize that after all.

Kiuma laughed breathlessly as she butted him agian, dancing back on her paws. "I wasn't worried. I was just trying to catch up. You two suprised me by suddenly taking off like that." Her jaws spilt in a wide yawn as she streched, forelegs extended and back arched. Her dark-tuffed tail flicked before she rose with a sigh. "Now what, Tanaka? Did you want to go after her?" She wasn't too enthusiastic about continuing the chase. This wasn't one of the gods that had hurt him, or they really had no quarell with her. But if he wanted to... she'd follow as best she could.

Tanaka lifted his head, turning to look toward the direction the goddess had gone. She was long gone by now, too far away for it to be worth going after her. A low growl echoed in that large chest, next time the goddess would not be so fortunate, next time he would crush her in his jaws and tear her limb from limb.
Shaking his head he turned back to his companion.
"No, it's not worth it, not tonight."

Kiuma watched the flit of expressions acrossed her companion's face, keeping her own thoughts behind her eyes for the moment. "Alright... It is getting dark. I don't know about you, but I'm not a nocturnal beast." A little smile flashed over her maw for a moment before disappearing. Pivoting, she turned back the way they'd come, her tail swaying along in her wake. "Come on then, Tanaka. We were going that way, remeber?" Bright eyes glanced over her shoulder, another smile flirting over her mouth. Hopefully they could just forget ever meeting the young goddess. They had far more important things to do than go chaising down stray gods...

"Hmmm? Yeah."
Tanaka stood, following his companion until he walked at her side. The goddess was gone for now, no sense dwelling on it. His day would come and he would be ready then. But for now, he was tired, and he much prefered the company of the red lioness and his mood lightened accordingly.
