Ananse fell in with the stragglers as he finally found the group after getting lost in the fog. He looks around and beholds the bone circle and the skull in the middle. 'Maybe I should bury...' His thoughts trail off as the skull seems to stare at him no matter where he stands. The others were leaving so he hurried up to follow. "I'll come back," he whispered to the skull.
Later, when faced with the burrow of the lion scent, Ananse frowned and muttered loudly, "I'll circle around back to see what I can find." Hesitating long enough for any other lions to join him, he does just as he said he would. Perhaps the source of the lion scent was over behind the massive tree. Perhaps there would be some other clue. He had seen enough so far to realize he had no idea what he was doing.
Ananse chooses C) Circle around the tree, searching for more burrows or signs.

Makali hissed as her vision went black. "Who did that?!" she snarled, reaching up to wipe furiously at her face until her vision returned. She eyed the bone circles and hissed again, lashing her tail. She spat curses under her breath before she began to leave the bone site once the others had buried the cub skull.
Angered and now not in the mood for silly games, as they came upon the tree the old lion scent was in, she narrowed her eyes at the hole, its size conflicting with what her nose told her. Instead of reaching in, she chose to circle around, looking for any other openings or signs a lion was getting in and out that way. "I know you are hiding something." she whispered to the tree, still upset about the bones.

Hiro groans as he is scratched by the tree branch. However, he still able to continue onward despite the injury. They reach a massive tree after following the scent. The burrow does not seem large enough for a lion to enter, so Hiro decides to circle around and inspect the area. Maybe there is a hole in the ground that whoever calls this tree home, comes in and out of. Perhaps the scent would lead elsewhere, only time would tell.

As she touched the bone with her paw, at first nothing happened, but then she felt a cold shiver run down her spine. Her vision went dark for a moment and she felt dizzy. She stumbled just a bit, head spinning. She shook her head and was normal again. She looked down at the bones and they seemed so out of place now. She quickly nudged it back and stepped over them, following behind the others who had decided to bury the skull. She wondered why they had done that but kept it to herself. They seemed to be moving on now, and so was she. She gave a quick shake of her body, hoping to rid herself of the eerie feeling she'd had since the fog.
The group seemed to decide to move on without anyone speaking this decision and she wasn't about to question it. They moved through the trees on the other side of the clearing, where there wasn't much light. A light breeze brought with it a scent that seemed to beckon them towards it. They come to a massive tree with a burrow at the base of it. Curious, Chayse tried to look over or around any lions who were in front of her. She pushed her way to the front, and wondered if there were any other burrows around the tree. It seemed there were others who were wondering that as well.

Kanuni wasn't surprised that no one responded to her quip. She only hoped that no one would notice her paw. Suddenly, she felt a cold chill down her back and shivered. Blindness struck her, and she panicked and stood stock still, trying to figure out what had happened. Then her vision returned, and swam as a wave of dizziness overcame her. Closing her eyes and lowering her head, she took a few deep breaths as she let the dizziness pass.
A sudden urge to turn her head, and she saw the bones she had accidentally disturbed. The urge intensified, and she moved back to the bones and rearranged them as best she could, since she wasn't the one who had designed the arrangement.
Luckily, at the moment, everyone was moving toward the woods. Unsure where everyone was headed, she caught a strange scent on the wind. 'Who is that? Kanuni wondered. Curiosity got the better of her, and she followed the group to an enormous tree. Most of them were prowling about the base. One was pawing at the burrow in the hill. She found herself speaking in a whisper as if there was something biding its time.
"Anyone find anything?" Kanuni asked gruffly. Between her paw and her eyes, she was beginning to get very testy about what she didn't know. After a few moments, she decided to look around the tree for herself, though she moved cautiously and with cared for her paw.

SCENARIO 3 RESULTS: Quote: If you chose A: You reach in, stretching your paw out, grasping at dirt and roots. Then your claws catch on something and when you drag it back out, you find that your paw is tangled in long strands of a lion’s mane. If you try again, there’s even more. The long white strands seem to stick to your fur, knotted and gross. It takes a while to clean it all off your paws. You lose 3 CP. Quote: If you chose B: Once everyone is finished reaching in, you decide to step in and block it off. You cover the entrance with dirt, pushing as much in as you can seal the scent away. Once finished, you step back to admire your work. That’s when you hear the soft scratching from the other side. You lose 2 CP. Quote: If you chose C: You circle the large tree curiously, looking for anything else that might lead you in the right direction, or another burrow to investigate. You find nothing and when you return to the group, everyone who remained (all one of them haha) looks a little more spooked. No CP lost. Since you all posted early-ish, feel free to RP your reactions! Next scenario will drop at the normal time.

Ananse and others circled around the tree, finding nothing. As he came back around the tree, he noted that lion with the sticky something and hair stuck to the paw. He got an inkling of what happened and forced himself not to smirk. They seemed to be in a lion's cemetery and it would be proper to treat it as such, with solemnity.

SCENARIO FOUR - THE WATERING HOLE
It’s clear that this land is just as eerie as the rumors said and while there hasn’t been any sign of ghosts yet, enough has happened that the group is definitely on edge. At least the forest seems to be at an end, with trees growing sparser, no longer close enough to reach out and snag the travellers. Are any of them considering turning back yet? Even if they are, the journey continues. That’s when a new scent drifts to them on the wind, this one refreshing and sweet. Water. You and others seek out the source and soon find it, a crystal clear pool. A drink is exactly what you need. But everyone notices something odd. Most waterholes would have paw and hoof prints around the edge, where others have come to drink. But here the earth is untouched and the grass around it is wilted and pale. Despite the alluring scent, something seems off. What do you do? Quote: A) Splash some on your face or paws to refresh. B) Take a drink anyway. You’re thirsty! C) Decide not to risk a drink. After having found nothing around the tree, and coming back to find that the lion who stuck his paw in had something tied around his paw, she gave out a snort. Though as the group decided to move on, they followed the scent to sweet water, except from the looks around it, there was something off about this water. She leaned forward to sniff it and raised a paw to poke at it but then paused, thinking better of it.

Disappointed with his search, Hiro returned to the group with a frown. "Nothing over here." he muttered.
They would arrive at the water hole, and Hiro found himself indeed thirsty. However, the pond just seemed a touch too eerie for his liking. He would like a big gulp of some of the clear water, but for now, he would just settle with splashing some water onto his face for refreshment. He needed to focus, and find some big clues to these plains, soon, or he feared he may run out of energy before the night is over.

"Hm." Despite all that's happened, Ananse is unconvinced that ghosts even exist. He had been afraid of nothing. Just apparitions of the mind. But this watering hole was wrong. He did not know what was wrong but other animals had avoided it for some reason. Best to avoid it too.

All but one of the group had decided to search around the tree. Chayse was amused at the sight of them all circling around the tree so she joined as well. Satisfied there was nothing else to find, they all joined back at the front where one lion had reached their paw into the hole and found long strands of lion mane fur. It looked creepy and gross and most likely belonged to a long dead lion. Chayse shivered with ick and looked away, ready to move on.
It seemed the others felt that as well as they all moved onward, ready to leave the eerie tree behind. It wasn't long til they caught the smell of water on the air. Chayse was excited for the prospect of some cool refreshment and licked her lips. "Anyone else smell water?" she called out to no one in particular. They continued on until they came upon the crystal clear pool. Not thinking about anything but her thirst, Chayse walked right up to the edge and looked into the water, lowered her head and took a big gulp.

Watching as the others also circling the tree returned to the front, Kanuni realized that there was nothing to discover. She grimaced as the one who reached into the tree and found what appeared to be loose lion mane hair.
"Whatever is going on is very strange," she thought to herself. Then another scent blew in on the gentle breeze. "Water," she spoke aloud as she realized what the scent was. "A drink would be nice." Trotting off after the others moving toward the source, she soon came to a stop near the pool. The water smelled very inviting, but she wasn't going to be fooled so easily. On guard after her injuries, she approached the water calmly. It was very tempting to give in to her sudden thirst, as the water did look inviting.
Turning her head from side to side, she saw that the edges of the water did not show lush grass, but limp blades lying on the ground. Before she could call out to avoid the water, she heard the sound of splashing water and saw one lion washing with it and another full on drinking.

It wasn't the first time that Nyama had gotten his paws tangled up in something unpleasant, but this seemed to sick with him - literally - and that was gross enough to make his nose wrinkle in displeasure.
Still, as they came up on the watering hole, he hung back. He didn't want to risk another encounter with something ominous and, glancing at his cautious fellows, it seemed like many thought the same.

It only lasts for a minute but it’s a very uncomfortable minute as you wonder why and how this water is so tainted. You lose 1 CP. Quote: If you chose B: Thirst trumps sensibility and you drink deeply from the perfectly clear pool. It’s the best water you’ve ever tasted and though your lips tingle a little, nothing terrible seems to happen. You drink and drink and - uh oh, you suddenly feel incredibly unwell. It seems there’s a reason this pool isn’t visited by everyone as your stomach churns with nausea. You probably should have thought twice before drinking here. You lose 3 CP. Quote: If you chose C: Maybe you were thirsty before and maybe you weren’t but now you definitely are. The sweet scent of the pool is driving you crazy, making your mouth and throat suddenly bone dry. It’s an all-consuming need and the fight to hold yourself back from the water gets harder and harder. You endure, though the effort leaves you shaking and exhausted. You lose 2 CP. The red moon reflects ominously off the pool and the group is forced to rest for a while.
