Body: Lots of CC with this one - I would like to mix the Harris Hawk with the Zebra Dove on coloration - but beyond that have no real concrete idea, just have fun.
Face: CC, but please have her expression be one of wonder, curiosity, and/or joy.
Mane: Like Rikku from FFX2 only feathers for the main hair while keeping hair braids, continue from under the feathers with long, thin braids. The helm should take the place of the headband in the style. I would like the feathers to be slightly rounded instead of quite as sharp as the Rikku hair example, somewhat like the wing feathers on the harris hawk. The color should be a very light tan, almost white for the feathers, the hair should be the light reddish tan of the zebra dove's breast feathers. Beads should match the other accessories.

Custom Items: I would like an Aztec feel to her accessories - I would love a snake helm and various jewelry that gives that feel. I would like it to mostly be in metal - probably a bronze-ish metal - though copper or brass are also options - CC on that. The eyes of the helm should be enameled in a color that is a darker orange/red than the harris hawk's orangey feathers. The fangs should be enameled white. Beads in the braids should be a mix of the metal color, the enamel colors and turquoise. I think the arm bands from the image would look good on the front legs, not sure about the rear legs, but if there is any beading the beads should stay in the same colors as the hair braid beads.

Concept Origin: My mother passed shortly before Easter last year. I don't want to get a Soq of her, but . . . something that reminds me of the good memories. She had MS for two decades and slowly declined until her passing was a blessing for knowing she was out of pain. She was the kind of person who adopted everyone. She loved to bake bread and cookies. She didn't initially like sewing, but it was something she would do to give personal gifts to people, even quilts sometimes. She loved playing card games (and had crazy luck). I've made three different mood boards with her memory in mind. The first two are more 'her' specific with the third being more about the trees outside the hospital that I would pass when I went to see her (she spent way too much time there the last few years in incredible amounts of pain).

This is meant more as a tribute to remembering her laughter even when days were dark for her. It's impossible to capture her spirit in art like this. But to help her memory live in a little way that captures the joy she tried to bring to everyone.
Board one - this is mom's favorite flowers, she loved the wooden spoons my dad made for her, quilts, the MS ribbon, I love the stained glass angel wings, and the idea of a strong lioness kind of embodies her as she stood strong against the disease.
Board two - mom loved her willow tree figurines, and playing Euchre (card game). She made the best (biased opinion) chocolate chip cookies and her own homemade bread. I've added Forget-me-not flowers for obvious reasons. The phoenix to symbolizes her constantly getting back up after the disease knocked her down. And the frozen willow tree in part because the beauty in mourning, but also the promise of new life when winter is over.
Board three - this one is much more abstract. The front of the hospital she spent several weeks in off and on for the last few years of her life featured big Ginkgo trees. I like them best in autumn when they're this lovely yellow, that reminds me of symbiology of yellow roses and yellow ribbons. The ginkgo leaves are also a symbol of love and friendship and stand for connection. But also for strength, resilience and longevity. I like the idea of the Ginkgo as a dragon, the strength, power, and magic suits my mom.

So . . . I know this is all over the place. If you choose this concept, relax, have fun, do whatever you feel from what I've given. There is no wrong here. This is just for me to look at and remember that she would want me to smile at her memory, not carry it as a weight. And maybe to borrow some of her strength through trials.
