Tsuna Miki

She truly did not deserve Lottie and Micha'el as the tended to her mess while she took a break. Tsuna sat down and stared out the window as her tail swayed back and forth impatiently. After the spill was cleaned, Micha'el and Lottie sat next to her and even brought her a juice. She smiled lightly taking small, shaky sips waiting for one of them to prob her thoughts. Lottie graciously volunteered causing Tsuna to blab out every thought trying hard to break down. "Everything! Its...everything. How am I going to save him if I can't even figure out what this is!" She stood up placing her drink on the nearest dresser as she passed back and forth. "That necromancer yesterday, he did things that other necromancers shouldn't. Think about it! His array of spells, controlling dead of his own, enhancing them, that doesn't fallen within the realm of what he should have been able to do! Not only that he wasn't even a man, but a decrypt corpse that had been probably dead for centuries! The message he left clearly indicated that he had a master! Just another puppet! Just another red herring!" As Tsuna went on her outburst became loud until she stopped herself when she released what she had just said. "A...red...herring...A RED HERRING! How could I be so blind! I've convinced myself that what this is by going off one scent and not looking at the bigger picture. Necromancy can't be the culprit, none of the evidence leads to that conclusion. It's something else acting as Necromancy. A red herring!" She began laughing which turned hysterical. She was definitely losing her mind but continued with the crazy notion she had come to realize anyway. She calmed herself as she looked at the two and smirked devilishly. "Pop Quiz! What magics do you two know of that are chaotic, but also powerful!? More specifically, has a blue hue or glow when conjured!?" They had to have an answer. One simple answer that she could use to connect the dots and get to the root of the problem.

"Tsuna..." Lottie reached up as Tsuna jumped up, beginning to pace as she voiced all her concerns. Micha'el looked like he was silently agreeing with Tsuna bout the Necromancer, and Lottie found herself tucking her feet in beneath her as if feeling smaller and more comfortable might help. Then, out of nowhere, Tsuna's frustrations turned into realisation. "Uh...." Lottie began, scowling at the notion of a quiz right here and now. Where was Tsuna going with this? Micha'el raised his hand as though he was still in class, then answered Tsuna's rhetorical question anyway. "Arcane magic?" Lottie scowled again, this time harder. "Wait, wait, wait" she said, "you think a wizard has something to do with this?"
"Where are you going with this, Tsuna?" Micha'el asked inquisitively.

Tsuna Miki

They seemed to indulge her and Micha'el even raised his hand as if he were in class. Arcane! That was the answer she was looking for, but before she could analyze the subject Lottie interjected. A wizard was an accurate description for the culprit, but they both needed more convincing. Arcane magic is unpredicable, that much is common knowledge. As for Lottie's assumption a wizards sounds about right!" Her brain automatic switched gears and without realizing it she pieced something substantial together. "Yes! A wizard! Just like Alexis!" Suddenly, her excitement slowly turned to horror as she realized just whom she was talking about. "Alexis...she's the most powerful wizard to date. She can control arcane. I mean we've seen her step through a portal of it at the Winter School Tournament. It would explain why the Queen asked about her yesterday when we first arrived. However..." Tsuna paused putting her hand to chin and pacing again. "This raises more questions. Why her? What's the motive? Is she even capable of going this far? Hurting people along the way..." She thought about her conversation with Solomon before she left. She said she'd try to locate Lucas to help out since he'd been missing for some time. He could have been a valuable asset in a search for the cure. Solomon warned her to stay out of it, but if this wasn't conjecture then Team Sun may get roped into their affairs anyway.

Tsuna glanced out the window to see Claudia and Nyru walking up and felt an instant mistrust in them. They followed their queen and if she suspects Alexis then they will too. What else do they know and for how long. They've been playing along with their necromancer notions for this long and she wasn't sure what they'd do if they found out the truth. She didn't even know what their plans were for Alexis if they even find her or are looking for her. Before they knocked Tsuna turned to her teammates and quickly conversed with them. "Let's keep this conversation to ourselves. At the moment everything is speculation, and I don't want to step over any boundaries with Claudia and Nyru. We're not ready for a fight again and we don't know their objective. Keep playing like were still convinced this is necromancy. We'll ask if there's a library where we can go to and secretly research arcane for now." Even though she knew the knock was coming it still made her jump as she looked to the others unconfidently. "I'll let you two do most of the talking. I'm not of sound mind at the moment." She admitted ashamed as she let her teammates greeting their guests.

A silence hung over them the moment Tsuna said it. Alexis. Lottie met Tsuna's horrified eyes, then she looked to Micha'el, who was scowling again, but still silent. Tsuna then went on to quietly explain her thoughts, and Lottie couldn't argue, but she didn't want to believe it. "Tsuna..." Micha'el had begun when she started pacing again. He didn't say more though as she went on to raise the bigger questions that this knowledge brought with it. "Tsuna..." he said again, "we cannot labour over such an accusation, what reason would she have?" His question would go unanswered however, as Lottie noticed Tsuna's gaze turn to the window where Nyru and Claudia could be seen coming to speak with them. Tsuna quickly told them to keep this information to themselves, and randown the short term plan. Lottie nodded, then looked to Micha'el who appeared torn, but also agreed.

When the knock came to the door, all three looked at each other until Micha'el eventually let them in. Lottie could hear greetings and small talk in the corridor until eventually the three of them came into the drawing room. Micha'el leaned against the large table this time, then Nyru stepped forwards and lowered a pile of books it. "Team Sun" he said, giving each of the girls a small smile. "We hope you rested well. The queen has personally selected these books from her personal study, two detailing necromancy, then a third on magical diseases. Lottie watched Micha'el tilt his head, reading the title of the first book that she couldn't see. "Not quite as exciting as your spell book, I imagine" Nyru added, nodding to Micha'el respectfully. Micha'el stared at Nyru blankly, then said "uh, thank you. I'm sure these will be useful" he then turned to look at Tsuna, as if to silently say they're being helpful.
"What's todays agenda?" asked Lottie, hands clasped on her lap. "Well" Nyru pulled out a chair from the table and turned it to face them, then took a seat whilst Claudia made herself comfortable in the room also. "We thought we should ask Tsuna about the Necromancer, then we can decide what to do from there." Nyru now looked at Tsuna with a friendly regard, "did it say anything to you before it died? Did you discover anything about its fighting style, or magical ability? None of us got to face it up close like you did."

Tsuna Miki

Micha'el was conflicted on the subject and wanted to maintain mutual ground between their alliance, Alexis, and the Shadowmancers. He reluctantly agreed to keep things under wraps as he invited the guests in starting remedial conversation at the door. Nyru stepped into the drawing room cheerfully placing down an assortment of books that he claimed was from the Queen's personal study. Glancing over the covers, she knew instantly that none of these books will lead to the answers she desires. As he joked with Micha'el, he thanked him kindly before giving Tsuna a look of approval. She returned it with a glance of distain feeling that the gift was an insult meant to deter them. Lottie happily asked about their schedules to which Claudia and Nyru made themselves confrontable to explain. He questioned exactly what she thought he would as she eyes drifted slowly over to Claudia instead of Nyru. She could definitely smell the strong scent of rot emanating from her and her slight fidgeting. Her partner didn't seem to notice unusual from her or if he did he'd played it off incredibly well. She hated being deceived and kept automatically assuming the worst from them by being kept in the dark. Solomon told her that this was done out of love or concern sometimes, but she couldn't bring herself to believe it. "It is an accurate name for what that thing was. Nothing, but a shriveled corpse echoing the words of its master. Even in death, I am, but a breath of our Master's design. That was it's words to me. You saw all the enhanced necromancy it could preform. Ice, barriers, curses, and controlling an army of its own. Whatever necromancer behind this is a powerful one." She ended it there refusing to divulge anymore as she went to pick up one of the books. "If this isn't enough, is there a library somewhere?" Claudia stood up sensing Tsuna's tone and short attitude and replied sternly, "That should be enough there. What more do you need?" Tsuna scoffed and blurted out, "Not anymore perfume like you I'm sure." Claudia's cheeks turned red as her frame tensed prevented herself from slapping Tsuna. The half therian smirked and dismissed the two quickly. "You two should leave because I've told you all I know. Don't let the door hit you on the way out." Tsuna snatched a book off the table and left the room to break the tension leaving Claudia flabbergasted. Far in the kitchen, she could hear her teammates easing things over before seeing their guests out. She knew she was about to get an ear full but refused to stand down.

Lottie couldn't help but stay quiet, trying to respect Tsuna's wishes not to reveal too much to Nyru and Claudia. Micha'el, on the other hand, appeared to be playing a façade that pained him. The daywalkers might not see it, but Lottie could. Micha'el's expression was soft, eyes focused on the conversation Tsuna was driving. But his jaw was gently clenched, and his hand clenched in the pocket of his trousers. Lottie then returned to conversation once Tsuna made a comment about Claudia's perfume. Micha'el was already standing after Tsuna ruined any attempt for them to get into their libraries, and now Tsuna was basically telling them to get out. After she took the books and vacated to the kitchen, Lottie took no time in showing them out and insisting that Tsuna was stressed. At the doorway, Nyru turned to speak to Lottie, took a breath, and then decided not to say anything at all.

Further down the road, Nyru finally spoke. "I thought Declasia had openly expressed Team Elixer would have access to our information - libraries included." He seemed to sound indifferent, not angry at Claudia for her reaction, nor was he happy. "Anyway" he said, running a hand through his black hair, "maybe you were right. They can't be trusted." He now sounded bitter, "I'm sorry for doubting you. And she didn't tell us anything we didn't already know..." Nyru thought back to late last night, an hour or so after their battle. Nyru had ordered the collection of the Necromancer's corpse where Declasia, Horakhty, Nyru and Claudia all surrounded the half dissected body in the crypt of a graveyard near the outskirts of the city. They had used an art of shadowmagic to speak with the dead. The necromancer had spoken to them the exact same words that Tsuna said, and then arcane magic cut the effect short. Nyru came back to reality and said to Claudia, "She must know about the arcane magic, why else would she be quick to tell us nothing more and kick us out? You should update the Queen... I need to say goodbye to Isabelle before she returns to Absóluté."

"What the hell was that?!" Micha'el commanded, marching into the kitchen after Lottie emerged from the hallway. He threw his Aria onto the worktop, Lottie jumped, not anticipating the outburst. "The Queen of the Kingdom of Crows offers us her insight, her personal guards, and an entire mansion - and you want to insult her by snapping at said personal guard then commanding them out the house? With an added insult at that?! At least you took the books, fancy some light reading before you decide to sneak into the library?"
"Micha'el!" Lottie interrupted, but his eyes were dead set on Tsuna,

Tsuna Miki

As Nyru and Claudia vacated the house, Claudia knew she had disobeyed the queen to save her own skin. The girl was catching on and she could probably smell that she was infected with that Therian nose of hers. She had played right into Tsuna's hands and was ashamed that she had lost her repose and almost gave herself away. Claudia didn't answer him right away until he admitted that she was right which surprised her. "Nyru..." she breathed his name to softly for him to hear as he noted that Tsuna didn't lie about the Necromancer. After the battle, they were commanded to retrieve the shriveled body and dissect it in a crypt near the graveyard on the outskirts of the city. Applying their shadowmagic, they communicated with him only for him to repeat the same line he had divulged to Tsuna. Nyru seemed lost in thought until he commented on what she was thinking about. Claudia nodded agreeing with him judging by Tsuna's rash behavior and updating the Queen was their next priority. She had completely forgotten about Isabelle until Nyru mentioned her departure and replied lightly, "Yes...let's wish her safe travels." She felt sentimental thinking this was probably the last time she'd see Isabelle. She didn't know when the magic would fully take over, but her demise was inevitable.

Tsuna breathed in deeply as Micha'el outraged against her act as he slammed his book on the work table storming into the kitchen. He couldn't understand how she just insulted the Queen's royal guards after being offered all the amenities they had thus far. He even knew her plans to sneak into the library later and she realized just how well he knew her. Lottie, sweet Lottie, always a diplomat to maintain the peace even though she didn't deserve remorse. "I did what I had to Micha'el. They've been hiding the truth from us since we got here. The way Claudia retaliated is proof of that. Even without my insult we would have been denied research. I'm sure they're on to us too. And Claudia...she's...I mean wasn't sure when I first meet her but now I know she's infected. I could smell the rot coming from. She didn't want me to reveal her so she gave into my bad behavior. I'm sorry, I know it was rash, but the Queen doesn't want to help us. This place feels more like a prison than a confront. I know I may be over stepping, but I'm scared. I'm scared that dwelling to deep is going to cost us our lives. I promised Solomon I'd protect you two...I don't want you to end up like Ivan...or Claudia. I have to be wary...in case they're trouble. I'll apologize to Claudia later." She placed a hand on Lottie's shoulder. "Don't stick up for me, I definitely don't deserve it." She turned to Micha'el and held out the book. "Hate me if you want, but I trust you far more with research than I." If he didn't take it, she decided to lay it on the table behind her and head up to her room solemnly. She closed the door and slid down it burying her face in her knees that she brought up to her chest. Her tail wrapped around her and her ears dropped before she glanced at her hand, the one that she shook Solomon's hand with. "I'm I doing the right thing? What happens now if the Queen finds out? Will she recruit us for Alexis's capture or send us away? Micha'el and Lottie...they'd be safe back at the academy...I'm going to end up getting them killed." Tears rolled down her cheeks feeling like there was no way Solomon could answer her back. She hated herself for always ruining things, thinking she's always right, when she could absolutely be wrong.

Micha'el was ready to stand his corner of the ring until Tsuna described Claudia smelling of rot. He clenched his jaw when she went on to describe wanting to protect them, promising as much to Solomon. She really thought her actions were justified, and Micha'el couldn't really argue with that. Lottie saw how hard he was having to hold back and bite his tongue. She also saw the pain in Claudia's eyes when she told Lottie she didn't deserve being defended. Lottie stayed quiet, unsure of how to respond. Micha'el barely looked Tsuna in the eyes when he took the book and looked away, letting Tsuna take her leave from the room. "How often are we going to go in this circle... Micha'el?" Lottie asked softly from across the kitchen. She saw his jaw clench again as he quietly replied "for as long as she chooses to see the worst in people. I'm going to read this books, now that we can't go to the library."

As Tsuna sat crying into her knees, there was a sudden silence that fell over her, hanging in the air. Perhaps, for a moment, Solomon was able to respond. "My little Tsuna... what a sad hand fate has given you." This was not[/] Solomon, the voice was young, velvet, strong. It spoke to her from the aether, beside her, far away, all around her all at once. But it was clean, precise, direct. "Your beloved father-figure on death's door and the Queen think's you're part of the problem. But we know the truth of it all, don't we? However you don't want to give away too much in case she is part of the problem? Or, perhaps you are right... Alexis Truesvale is the culprit behind it all? Hm..." the voice chuckled, dissipating until speaking up again from the darkest corner of the room. This time it materialised as a shadow-figure, with beady white specks of light for eyes. "You don't want to fail, do you? Let's see if we can do better?"

Tsuna Miki

Tsuna's tears were beginning to run thin as fatigue took over and possibly a bit of dehydration as well. When the disembodied, velvety voice whispered to her, she immediately froze. The way it addressed her definitely wasn't Solomon and its deceiving tone tore away at her. Standing up she looked around frantically not being able to pin point the voice because it sounded like it was beside her, all around her, and far away from her all at once. It seemed to know a lot about her, recapping events and spewing information that only she had know and divulged to her teammates. Was this the lurking presences she had been feeling since yesterday? It taunted her relentlessly, its chuckled chilled her to the core sending shivers up and down her body. The voice sounded like it was beginning to fade until it appeared as an apparition in the darkest corner of the room with beady white eyes staring at her. She was too paralyzed to approached, but managed to choke out a sentence. "W-who are you? How...how long have you been watching?" Every instinct told her to run or scream, but she felt like she was wrapped in invisible chains. She just hoped Micha'el and Lottie stayed mad at her and kept out of the room in case the figure attacked or did something worse.

The black figure tilted its head at Tsuna, a cascade of darkness - hair, falling over its shadowy shoulder as it did so. "Some call me the grey man" he said, "others 'the one who watches'... but I quite like 'the Betrayed One'. I've been watching for as long as you peaked my interest." The figure strode across the room from one corner to the other, turning away from her only briefly before making eye contact with her again, it's pin-p***k white eyes staring straight into Tsuna's. "I usually don't speak to someone until they've hit rock-bottom. Although... you're not far from it. Tell me, Tsuna Miki, how far would you go to protect those you love? Tsuna Miki

When the figure tilted his head, dark hair cascaded down, but nothing was identifiable enough given the shadow form he took. As for a name, according to him he's been called plenty such as, Grey Man, The One Who Watches, and Betrayed One. Again, none of these were defining so she just decided to called him Deceiver. She presumably peeked his interest so he decided to lock onto her give her fragile mental state. He vacated the corner he was in a drifted to another only to look away for a second before locking eyes with her once more. She still couldn't move as he confided to her what she already knew about herself before asking a slew of questions. How far would she go to protect her loved ones? Was she even seeking justice? Was what or whom she was fight against the greater evil compared to her actions thus far. Her breath was caught in her throat which she was a little thankful for because it gave her time to accumulate an answer. "Knowing me...I'd let the world burn. Do everything I could to prove I'm right. Justify my actions...but," she paused knowing how why Micha'el and Lottie were truly mad at her. She saw the worst in everyone because she was so scared to trust or love. She barely trusted Ivan at times and here she was trying to advocate for him like she had a right too. She picked up where she left off, "But, that's what makes the people I love better than me...I have a question for you, Deceiver. How far did you go? You've been around for sometime I assume, seen your share of hardships, probably lost loved ones in your pursuit, and have hit rock bottom. Do I interest you because you think I'm like you?" When she looked into his soulless eyes she knew she could be looking into her own future.

The moment Tsuna revealed that she would let the world burn, a slight smile could be seen in the darkness of his face. An amusement falling over him until she added that her loved ones were better than herself. Then, by surprise, she turned the conversation around to be pointed at him. Whatever trace of a smile he had was gone, and his tone became neutral. "You will never be like me" he said, quite matter-of-fact. "For what I am is ancient, and what I did was unforgiveable. She could see a smile within the shadow indicating that he was pleased with the answer she gave him. However, that smiled faded as any comparison between them was shut down. He revealed how he had gone further and committed atrocities beyond her comprehension. Still, he remained interested in her wondering what she would do with the answers she given. Could she even trust him? He said anyone that he had come across has taken his advice and has been successful. At the moment she was desperate and knew whatever choice she made probably wasn't going to be the right one. Breathing in deeply, she stuck out her shaking hand and said, "A proposal then? Information for entertainment." She knew deep down what she was doing was wrong, but what choice did she have? Ivan was dying, they were all in danger, and she wasn't getting anywhere with or without the Queen's help.

✦ I was listenin' to the ocean
I saw a face in the sand
But when I picked it up
Then it vanished away from my hands, dah ✦

✦ I had a dream, I was seven
Climbin' my way in a tree
I saw a piece of Heaven
Waitin' in patience for me, dah ✦

✵ The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight ✵

The figure in black smiled once more, stepping forwards as she stretched out her arm towards him. "Information for entertainment" he repeated, " and much, much more." He finally opened his hand and took hold of hers. He was now so close to her than she could truly see how tall and slender he was. "My gift to you, Tsuna Mikim My mark". He gripped her hand firmly. Then, a scratching sensation could be felt on the back of her hand as black lines formed on her skin like an only tattoo. Circular with straight lines scattered, perhaps like a sigil, or a feather obliterated in a spiderweb crack. As quickly as the sensation began it vanished, and the mysterious figure stepped back. "Oh, and for transparency" he said, standing still as the darkness that concealed him finally began to recede. As if a black and white photo were coming into vision, his long, straight, silvery grey hair fell down across his chest and dark clothes, old and stylish, revealed a pale skinned man who had once been a noble perhaps. His eyes were grey, narrow and watchful. Wrapped around his waist appeared to be what was once a crimson whip, repurposed as a belt. Coloured appeared to recede from him. "I am the Prince of Crows. I would suggest you don't let anyone know you bare my mark... less you get locked up and tortured by the Queen herself" he grinned devilishly, as if proud of this moment.

✦ I was painting a picture
The picture was a painting of you
And for a moment I thought you were here
But then again, it wasn't true, dah ✦

✦ And all this time I have been lyin'
Oh, lyin' in secret to myself
I've been putting sorrow on the farthest place on my shelf

This agreement pleased the figure as he stepped forward repeating the terms. However, he added that this would appeal more to him in the end as he took her hand. His touch was freezing as he took in front of her tall and slender. He ominously presented her with a mark which left a scratching sensation on the back of her hand. She twinged and tried to pull away, but he held onto her so tightly that she had no choice to accept his so-called gift. On the back of her hand was a circular tattoo with straight lines scattered in a cobweb formation throughout it. The sensation disappeared quickly and the figure let go stepping back to admire his handy work. The darkness hiding his idenity began to recede showing his true self as he wanted to notify her of something important, hopefully the information they agreed upon. As the dark faded it turned out that his hair was long and silver. He had beautiful pale skin and black clothes that appeared to be of ancient royal which only complimented his watchful, narrow grey eyes. The crimson whip that had been fashioned into a belt was the only real pop of color on him. He revealed his true title, the Prince of Crows, and warned her that if anyone saw her mark she'd likely be tortured by the Queen herself. As if the odd of that happening to her anyway weren't apparent. "I'm sure you'd enjoy that you sick b*****d." She scoffed not surprised by his excitement as she pushed past him and into her bathroom where she rummaged through the cabinet. She found some bandages and wrapped them around her hand thinking of an excuse she could give her teammates later if this ask. She assumed they were going to be cross with her for some time so she'd worry about that scenario when it comes. She walked back out to the prince looking at him rather annoyed instead of scared. Seeing him in the flesh made him less intimidating, but there was an amount of fear that still lingered. So, what do you know?" She probably shouldn't have been so demanding, but the sooner she got her information the sooner he would leave. Kind of.
