Levi was swept away in a tempest of confusion and paradoxical emotion. Anger…relief…doubt…and ultimately dissatisfaction. The infernal king tried to solve the riddle with every theory he could come up with, but it was like trying to fill in the gaps of a puzzle with pieces that just didn’t quite fit right. It was maddening. He was aware that every solution was too unfounded to actually convince him and yet he just couldn’t ignore it. Victrix’s words had successfully thrust him into the unknown…and he hated that feeling. The mystery gnawed at him, and he couldn’t help but feel like he had missed something very important-despite being under the impression that he had all the answers. His lips shaped a silent inquiry, mouthing the words ~who are you?~ to himself as he racked his mind with more and more lame possibilities. What troubled him the most was this feeling that his ignorance would invite immense misery into Aella’s life. Just the thought of it weighed heavy upon his shoulders.

”I don’t know what he wants but I’m going to do everything I can to get him out.”

Levi’s blue and green eyes snapped up to the boy. How long had he been lost in thought? “Right…Good,” The Devil murmured, steadily straightening himself up and recalibrating a bit to handle the current state of affairs. The Devil sighed as he took a finger and drew a rune into the air. The sigil carved itself into the floating space he wrote, glowing a bright gold as he put the final touches on it. Once done, the symbol flashed…and then dissolved. Levi didn’t explain a thing about it, but the design of it would only be known to the parasite within the boy, preventing him from hearing or seeing anything through Shingen so long as the spell was active.

After that Levi leaned back, his voice no longer buoyant and proud…instead it felt hollow…defeated. Still, he managed to say what was needed. ”I don’t need to explain the importance of names to you. Apep, Apophis, Jörmungandr, and finally Victrix. You may think the most effective one to use is the latter…but the truth is that none of them are your little parasite’s true name…instead each one of them is a component of it.” The Devil snapped his fingers, bringing onto the table a tome heavy with content. It looked like a god da** dictionary, but older…

”I don’t remember how long it took me to make that book, and it took even longer to understand it. That there is the First language…script that threatens to melt any mind that dares to comprehend it. Read it and understand it…then try to write the names it gave us…write its traits…its qualities…write everything you can about it until the name comes to you." Levi instructed in an abnormally quiet tone that was very...unlike him, "I expect that you’ll make much shorter time than I did since you are one of the chosen few…though I advise you to like…keep it to ten minutes a day…then maybe try longer over time. Being ‘chosen’ doesn’t make you immune to it. Comprende?”

Levi sighed again, whispering an enchantment on the book that would make the pages appear blank to Victrix every time Shingen opened the book…Though that spell wouldn’t last very long once he kicked the bucket.

Levi had returned when he heard Shingen talking, likely lost in thought himself. He had drawn some sort of rune in the air, casting something that Shingen couldn’t quite see but it had not been so relevant that he needed to explain, so it would seem. There was a clarification on what he had said before regarding the names of the beast. There being something even deeper to understand about the void beast in the quest to expelling it. His true name not yet revealed but critical in the process. Levi snapped his fingers to materialize a grand book, large and antiquated in design. Shingen leaned over to look closer at it, weary to even touch it in case that it was warded. Revealed to be the entirety of something called the First Language, the sight of the book gave Shingen chills. To have access to something able to make one mad played upon Shingen’s mind. Surely something so primeval held secrets never heard of even by the sages of old.

Shingen nodded in understanding as he listened to Levi’s instructions. He couldn’t help but notice his tone devoid of the same flair it held just moments ago. Perhaps he had become tired in carrying them through those ethereal spaces or maybe it was something else. In the end, he was limited to ten minutes a day in his studying although it sounded more like meditation, having to contemplate the essence of the void beast more so than anything else. “I understand.” Shingen said grimly, slowly moving to take the book up in his hands. Putting it under his arm, he faced Levi now. “Thank you. There’s so much to process but I won’t stop. I can’t, now that they know I know of them.” He referred to the Watcher and Devourer. He wanted to ask him what he should do about the Watcher but he’d done so much already and there was much more to handle than just him.

How do I get in contact with you? When I make progress?” He asked, although he figured he already had some way he was tracking him by.

At least Shingen seemed to trust him after all this. Underneath all that pompous bravado and belittling humor was in fact a good person-or at least That’s what he wanted. Still, it’s not like he didn’t understand. Being the Devil predisposed him to all kinds of negative stereotypes so it definitely was not a flex-or even a weird flex. Levi sighed…because, despite everything he did, he still carried many mistakes upon his shoulders that most definitely would have barred his way into any sort of paradise. Whatever, that sappy insecure Shi* wasn’t his style; moving on.

”No thanks needed kid. Just passing down the torch to those with the potential to resist the oncoming shi* show,” Levi responded in a matter of fact tone that down played his aid. While he was most definitely a man who enjoyed praise and gratitude, he didn’t believe instances like these deserved any degree of validity or admiration since it was simply the most logical and moral thing. Not doing so would just make him a dumba**. Shingen then asked how to get in contact with him…huh…Levi raised a singular brow.

The Devil was on the clock, quickly approaching what was most likely his inevitable end in two weeks. Still, it wouldn’t hurt right? If this kid started building bad habits then it would be better to correct them while he could. He sighed and snapped his fingers, causing a small rune stone to manifest on the table nearby the arcane architect. ”Take that, channel some mana into it after 7 days and I’ll check in. After that, It’s all on you kid. And…word from the wise: Things will likely get bad-they always do in these cases… And you are going to Fail…but that doesn’t mean you have lost; It's in failure that we learn the most. So don't lose heart, kid.”

The stone had an enchantment on it, one that would warp Shingen out of the blank realm they were in and back to where he had been earlier…well…around the perimeter at least since there would likely be an investigation starting in that area. Once the boy had been warped out, the Devil would sink back into the couch and murmur to himself. ”Things will be so much harder if you do…”
