How kind of you to stop and help your fellow out...
Unfortunately, on your way to the nearest person, the sharp snap of metal through bone is heard before it is felt. Surprisingly, such a rusty bear trap is quite efficient at nearly severing your leg. You cannot move, and you watch as the person you were going to go help runs off. Mayhaps they would have stayed to help you in return if a hulking figure wasn't quickly approaching, gigantic butcher knife in hand. It simply was not your lucky day.
You were right, though. You are quite good at dying.

What gumption! What courage! What...a shame.
Surely you didn't think it was that good of an idea to try and fight with that flimsy little thing?
Oh, you did? Well, I can see how you thought it was going to be alright.
Alas, the smiling girl running up to you has no real corporeal form, and as you thrust your weapon at her, you can only feel a chill run down your spine before your vision erupt with scrambled television static. All you can hear is terrible screeching noises, feel something bubbling in your throat and your limbs becoming heavier and heavier.
It's so easy to get caught up in the thrill of the hunt, isn't it?
The adrenaline, the thrill, the excitement! The fun of the hunt never gets old, does it?
No, nor does it get old watching the realization dawn upon the hunter that they are, in fact, the prey. The trail you had been tracking was indeed quite fresh, and it's to be expected to get a little...sloppy.
Perhaps you should have realized that by cornering one target, you left an opportunity for another to follow after you.

A trash can? Really?
One wonders how you expected to see while tucked away in that thing, but I suppose we can't all be experts in a thing like this. I suppose you thought yourself clever as you waited for someone to open it.
Apparently, hatchets cleave through the can just as well as they do through you!
๐ช Eliminated ๐ช Roserain Moxxiie Keantha 'raze Fea Line graytness
Clever! Exceedingly clever! You even managed to drop it right on your pursuer's head!
Now, normally this is more than enough to allow you to make a quick escape. After all, being knocked on the head is more than enough to cause one to halt their movements even for a little while. You can run!
Oh? What's that? You ran right into a dead end? Surely if you crouch down you can hope that the hunter thinks you smarter than you clearly are, and took a left to the open field and not the right into the blockade of oil cans.
Hiding in a locker, yes! How original! How brilliant! Inspired!
...Why did you shut it that hard?
Look, it's no secret that these lockers are made of metal, and in order to have a clean hiding spot you really should calm down and not. Slam. THE. DOOR!
But, maybe you're lucky! Maybe you managed to run fast enough that the metal-on-metal sound would go unnoticed? All you have to do now is stay quiet, breathe quietly, and try to ignore the tickling sensation just under your ear...
Oh...is that a spider's web? Then that tickling...
No! Don't! Hold it in!
....Ah. Well, a tiny spider is the least of your worries when the locker door whips back open and a hand wraps around your neck, crushing your windpipe with fierce brutality. It would be rather funny if your head went 'pop!' when you're squeezed that hard....

Hiding normally is an excellent strategy!
In your case though, you may want to pick a better spot next time.
Oh, silly me, there will be no next time!
The spot you've chosen is wonderfully shadowed, fantastic to hide in! Why, even someone with superior vision would struggle to see through the shadows!
One might even say the darkness you've tucked yourself into is suffocating. Choking you, even.
I-- Oh. Oh dear. Well, at least no one can see you, right?

Safety in numbers? But you don't have stripes and you certainly don't blend in with the environment....
But, like the prey that you are you gather in a gaggle anyways. Your footsteps are louder together, and your breathing, even in unison somehow, is louder.
It really doesn't take long to corral you all into a corner.
