Rhapsody by Florence Earle Coates As the mother bird to the waiting nest, As the regnant moon to the sea, As joy to the heart that hath first been blest— So is my love to me.
Sweet as the song of the lark that soars From the net of the fowler free, Sweet as the morning that song adores— So is my love to me!
As the rose that blossoms in matchless grace Where the canker may not be, As the well that springs in a desert place— So is my love to me.

Love After Love by Derek Walcott The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life.

"Myself" by Edgar Guest I have to live with myself and so I want to be fit for myself to know. I want to be able as days go by, always to look myself straight in the eye; I don’t want to stand with the setting sun and hate myself for the things I have done. I don’t want to keep on a closet shelf a lot of secrets about myself and fool myself as I come and go into thinking no one else will ever know the kind of person I really am, I don’t want to dress up myself in sham. I want to go out with my head erect I want to deserve all men’s respect; but here in the struggle for fame and wealth I want to be able to like myself. I don’t want to look at myself and know I am bluster and bluff and empty show. I never can hide myself from me; I see what others may never see; I know what others may never know, I never can fool myself and so, whatever happens I want to be self respecting and conscience free.

Poem by Nikki Giovanni
MY MUSE
I am my own Muse
I delight me With my words Of both Wisdom And wit
I teach myself So much Such insight Into the human soul Such compassion For the weak and weary Such utter contempt For the self-satisfied
I think What a wonderful world It would be If only people Would listen To me
I look at the full moon And bay Come Come Come to me Let’s explore A new world

Hold On Lyrics by Wilson Phillips
Some day somebody's gonna make you want to turn around and say goodbye Until then, baby, are you going to let 'em hold you down and make you cry? Don't you know? Don't you know, things can change Things'll go your way If you hold... on for one more day Can you hold... on for one more day? Things'll go your way (oh, things'll go your way) Hold on for one more day
I know that there is pain, but you Hold on for one more day, and ya Break free from the chains... Yeah I know that there is pain, but you Hold for one more day, and ya Break free, break from the chains

Poem By Hollie Holden
Today I Asked My Body What She Needed
Today I asked my body what she needed, Which is a big deal Considering my journey of Not Really Asking That Much.
I thought she might need more water. Or protein. Or greens. Or yoga. Or supplements. Or movement.
But as I stood in the shower Reflecting on her stretch marks Her roundness where I would like flatness, Her softness where I would like firmness, All those conditioned wishes That form a bundle of Never-Quite-Right-Ness, She whispered very gently:
Could you just love me like this?

Alive Lyrics by Pearl Jam
Is something wrong, she said Well of course there is You're still alive, she said Oh, and do I deserve to be Is that the question And if so...if so...who answers...who answers...
I, oh, I'm still alive Hey I, oh, I'm still alive Hey I, but, I'm still alive Yeah I, ooh, I'm still alive Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

"Supermodel" by Enijah Jacquee
I'm not looking for validation or acceptance,
I want to be desired with celebration of my presence.
where I'm loved beyond perception and vanity,
all the while my beauty is still cherished
as much as I see it in myself.

"Golden Child" by Alicia Keys
You don't have to be afraid cause time is on your side
and they don't know the power you possess
or the beauty that's inside

"A Poem About Me" By Ms.Moem
I'm about as certain as I can be That all of us, to some degree, Have things that even we don't see; I wonder what I'm yet to learn about me? I know I'm not the person I will be tomorrow Nor the me from the past, Shaped by the days that followed, I'm here in this moment, that'sall I can be And that's all I can say about me.
