Lilith Eclair

Dream Visitor: One of those kids who was fighting outside is waving at you.

Lilith: Oh, the troublemakers making a ruckus in the playground? I didn't even notice they stopped fighting.

She deactivates the barrier she erected outside of the window with a thought.
Lilith looks at the kid waving at her and does a slight nod at him in acknowledgement and turns back to Aiden.

Lilith Eclair

Lilith: "Oh, sorry I shook my head because I also have someone in here talking to me saying nonsense." She taps a finger to her head a couple of times.
"DV, want to show yourself? Try not to scare Aiden."

A small 4 inch chibi projection of a mindflayer appears floating over Lilith's shoulder and waves his hand towards the boy.


Dream Visitor: "Hello, Aiden, a pleasure to finally meet you."

Lilith laughs quietly at the boy's question. "It looks like she's wearing armor of some kind. Perhaps the lack of coverage in those areas promotes easier maneuverability and increased agility, but that's just my guess. Anyway, what do you say about learning how to read? And why don't you go say hi to the two kids who just walked in? It's nice making new friends."

Lilith looks at the small chibi mindflayer on her shoulder and sighs once more.

Lilith: "You look scary as hell even in your small version ... actually you look even more terrifying."

Dream Visitor looks a bit embarassed: "M-my apologies I can't help it .. how about this?"
He casts the polymorph spell on himself.



Lilith: "A little better. If you were going to use polymorph why didn't you just turn into something cute like a rabbit or a cat? Look, you're scaring people."

Dream Visitor: "..."

Lilith: "Well anyway .. turns to the scantily dressed girl this is DV. He calls himself Emperor for some reason, but I called him Dream Visitor when I was younger so it just kind of stuck. He doesn't usually bite unless he's hungry."

DV: "Hello good morning pleasure to meet you all. I've been this child's guardian since she was born." DV performs a short little bow towards the children.

Aiden's eyebrows would raise in surprise at the appearance of the Dream Visitor. The boy would give a small, uncertain wave to the small creature as it addressed him. As Lilith went on to explain the purpose of Thora's outfit, Aiden would stop staring at the mindflayer to glance again at the girl, trying to make sense of the maneuverability thing in his little boy brain. The child would look back to Lilith to answer about the reading and to stubbornly decline meeting the other kids, but Thora would suddenly notice the mindflayer and call out. As Lilith explained DV to the girl now, and the mindflayer gave a respectful bow, Aiden would jealously mutter, "You seem nicer than Lionel..." Aiden's arms still crossed in general discomfort, he'd seemingly zone out a little bit as he listened to the voice in his own head rant about something or other for a short moment. Then, he'd look abruptly up at Leo at the older boy's question. A look of surprise on the small child's face, Aiden would quickly glance from Leo to Thora, "W-What!? Ew, No!" The boy's cheeks turning pink again, his eyes would dart nervously away from Thora to glare more hatefully at Leo, "You're the one holding hands with her earlier!"

Although childish, Leo loved the reaction he got from the small boy. His genuine look of surprise at his question, to his blush at stealing glances at Thora and hateful glare to himself. He sighed in relief, and put on a apologetic smile. Wanting to walk over and give him a pat on his head, but deciding against it, Leo spoke up. "Sorry kid, you've been super tense since I saw you the first time. Looked like you could loosen up, but it seems like I took it a step too far." Wanting to make peace, he gave Aiden a small bow. "Sorry about that. And about us holding hands, you should try it with someone you like, like a lot." Taking a peek at Thora, he smiled and then turned his head towards Lilith once he heard her question. "I'm Leonardo Thorne, call me Leo. I'm just an orphan who likes to move around. We were fighting because.. well." Scratching the back of his head and laughing nervously, Leo had sighed. "It's complicated? What did you think of the fight?"

Lilith: "The fight ... "

Dream Visitor: "That fight was pointless and it took too long. If you aren't aiming to incapacitate or eliminate your opponent in the shortest amount of time what's the point of fighting? For fun? Everytime you attack your enemy, it should be aimed straight for their vitals and to take them out of commission, not to have a fancy display of your powers. Making wide, open movements and flashy magic attacks gives your opponent a chance to formulate their own plan of attack against you which could cost you your life."

Lilith: "They're just kids they aren't killers or murderers like the bad people out there outside of the orphanage, leave them alone."

Dream Visitor: "I'm only giving them advice on how to survive out in the real world, much like how I educated you so many years ago when you were still a child. Do you think you would still be alive if you were dancing around with your legs flying all over the place shooting flashy magic out haphazardly?"

Lilith: "This isn't the same and like I said these two are kids living in this orphanage, not mercenaries or assassins we've dispatched of in the past."

A small amount of bloodlust and killing intent leaks out of Lilith's eyes turning them a brighter shade of red at the memory of those who have gotten in her way and paid the ultimate price. Slight it may have been, it would have sent shivers down the spines of anyone who may have perceived the small change in her eyes before they turned back to normal. The surrounding temperature drops down a few degrees as cold frosty air unconsciously begins to emanate from Lilith's small body as if to cool down her raging emotions.



Dream Visitor: "Young they might be, but sooner or later, they must learn how to fend for themselves."

Lilith: "Point taken, how old are all of you anyway?"

With a small wave of her hand, the freezer on the gigantic refrigerator opens and a chocolate icecream drumstick flies towards her. She peels the drumstick open and starts to eat it while awaiting for the childrens' responses.

Arms still crossed defensively, Aiden stared silently on while Dream Visitor lectured him. The boy didn't trust the mindflayer or Lilith still, but the child was not immune to DV's flattery manipulations. It felt nice to have somebody else refer to him as 'a real man' and 'a man of great taste'. He hated being treated as a child, and the mindflayer seemingly knew exactly the right things to say to appease the seven-year-old.

The boy would look back to Leo at his apology, an annoyed look upon his face still, he'd seem unforgiving. "I don't like anyone..." he'd growl grumpily in response to his advice about trying to hold somebody's hand. Just then, Thora would whack the crap out of Leo, and Aiden would burst into smug laughter, pointing obnoxiously at the suffering boy for just a second before realizing his own obnoxiousness and withdrawing his arm.

With DV's next lecture on fighting techniques, Aiden's laughter would fizzle out to silence again as his attention turned curiously to Lilith and the mindflayer. The little boy didn't fully understand or fully focus on the content of the conversation as he didn't know anything about fighting; Lionel did all the fighting stuff for him when he was largely unconscious. Suddenly, a chill in the air would send a shiver down Aiden's spine; he'd see the momentary glimmer in Lilith's eyes, but it would dissipate quickly enough to make the child question if it had even been there at all. The boy would glance to the others to try to clock if they'd seen what he'd seen. Leo's reaction seemed like enough of a verification. Lilith was a little scarier than she let on. Aiden would shift warily in his seat on the counter.

Lionel, seemingly unbothered by the dark energy that had just shot through the room, would casually comment in Aiden's own mind, Look how lucky you are, Aiden. These kids have to work and practice and study to even have a chance at surviving outside of these walls. But you have me to protect you~ You don't have to do anything at all to survive. You really act ungrateful for me a lot, you know it? I really am the best thing that could ever have happened to you~ Aiden would glance around the room at the different people before him. Lionel wasn't entirely wrong. Although, he wrongfully spoke as if he had never caused Aiden pain and suffering himself, he also was the whole reason Aiden was alive today. And Lionel did make another good point about how it seemed like other people had to put in a lot of time and work to become as powerful as they were. But then... there was still all the torment that Lionel inflicted upon Aiden just for the sake of his own fun... and also all of the innocent people that Lionel had slaughtered since running with Aiden. The child would frown as a series of bloody corpse images flashed through his mind: all the times he'd awoken to a new dead person lying at his feet after Lionel had finished his fun with them.

Lilith's final question would shake Aiden from his memories. How old was he? Leo would immediately share his age, and Aiden's confused gaze would bounce back and forth between the individuals before him as he struggled to form a response. The boy had no idea how old he was... He couldn't remember his birthday ever being celebrated in his abusive and neglectful household. His parents took him out of school several years ago too, so that didn't help at all. How did these people know their ages off the top of their head? Was that normal? Was he really supposed to know the answer to this question immediately? After what felt like an awkwardly long and painful pause, Lionel would poorly advise the child to just say what Leo said. Without questioning the demon's logic, Aiden would glance toward Leo uncertainly and then back toward Lilith to sputter, "Fifteen..." If his physical size and immaturity didn't give away his lie, his expression of vaguely panicked confusion most certainly would. Lionel would knowingly giggle evilly in the child's mind, further exacerbating the boy's lack of confidence in his own answer.
