Avari was sent backwards step by step, as Drako now demonstrated his power and strength. Fusion had to think up something quick..
He suddenly allowed Drako to push forward and hurried backwards, looking to duck down at the last moment and send the Champ into the turnbuckle!

can't say that wasn't a smart change of pace for the challenger. Just when the champ has things going his way, Avari drops down and Drako's face hits the top turnbuckle, leaving the champ to stumble backwards out of the corner

Could this be the moment - Avari looked to get behind Drako and roll him up for a quick pinfall attempt!

the Soaring Dragon kicks out quickly and attempts to roll to his feet again

Avari rolled with Drako, immediately looking to get him into a grounded headlock. He had to keep the pressure on the same way that the Dragon was, he had to prove he was worthy of this Championship gold!

Avari is quick, getting Drako in the headlock, forcing the champ to reach up to wrap his arms around his waist to get a feel of where he is. Of course, this wasn't just to get his bearings, but to attempt to roll Avari to the side to roll him into a pinning situation as well

Drako used his veteran instincts to turn Avari on to his shoulders!

Fusion forced himself out, rolling up to his feet as soon as he was able to.

Avari moved quicker to his feet than Drako and got a moment here. He rushed in and immediately looked to lock in a Rear Naked Chokehold!
He was trying to end this match!

Drako may have been slightly slower getting up there, but not that slow. As Avari tries to get him in the rear naked choke, the champion turns to the side, attempting to cash him in a side waistlock, then lift and rop him with a back suplex

Avari should have expected something from Drako, but he thought that he could be quicker in that moment. However, he soon finds himself suplexed on to the mat in grand fashion.
The crowd were loving this spectacle though, it had been a technical masterpiece!

Drako nips up after the suplex, a few cheers coming in as the champ seems to be a bit more of his old self tonight.
Speaking of which, it's time to speed things up a bit, as the champ looks to pull the challenger up and irish whip him to the ropes for a back body drop on the rebound

Drako flings Avari across the ring with a quick Irish Whip, and he hurtles across the ring. The Man of the Hour is then caught with a lovely Back Body Drop, with a subtle silence coming over the crowd momentarily.
Was the momentum now fully with the Soaring Dragon?

The champion isn't quite done yet. It was unlikely that that would keep Avari down, so Drako would look to meet him on the rise with a stiff knife edged chop across the chest

As Avari rose to his feet, that chop connected harshly, sending a sickening noise across the arena. Fusion winced and clutched his chest as it went red, gritting his teeth.
But, almost immediately, he attempted to retaliate with a harsh headbutt back!

the champ was satisfied with the chop he landed, though he wasn't intending to stop there.....that is until he's clocked with a surprise headbutt out of nowhere that sends him stumbling back, checking his nose for blood
