Honestly, he couldn't think of a way he could hurt himself with what he'd done so far, but he supposed he could slow things down. It might help the quality of his notes, at least.

kauffpost seventeenBeing a parent was something. He was going to have to keep an eye on his son, but maybe not too strict an eye? Then again, Layn might benefit from a little more supervision. Kauff knew he should have had a lot more as a kid himself.

"Well, the ingredients for that one are a little weird. I don't think you can get them with muscles." Layn giggled. "And once it was all mixed, I had an Ice mage enchant it in exchange for a whole bunch of errands."
In truth, it had only been about three, but they had all been really boring.

"That's okay. Maybe we could try something for sleeping?" He didn't know anyone who had trouble getting to sleep, but he thought it might be an easier task to imagine, given how many remedies for it he'd seen over the years.

laynpost twenty"Sleeping?" He had read something about dangerous plants and their sedative effects in a dingy old pamphlet somewhere, but he had never tried harnessing them. "Yeah, we could try that! If I was getting started with a sleeping potion, I would pick a few plants to go and get looked at later."
Layn motioned for his father to follow. "C'mon! We've gotta go get some gloves!"
