Pulled back to his feet once again, Cyrus suddenly made a grab for his opponent, attempting to whip Salem to the ropes!

In a reversal of events, it was Cyrus taking control of Salem's wrist as he was pulled up, jerking him by surprise and launching him into the ropes! Coming back fast on the bounce, "Showtime" sought to launch himself hard at Cyrus, trying to do a diving Clothesline and drop "The Dream" again!

Throwing Salem towards the ropes, Cyrus doubled back towards the opposite ropes before springing forward to meet Salem at the center of the ring with a clothesline of his own, the Last Roar! Both men blasted eachother with their clotheslines, unknowingly catching the referee in the crossfire, knocking him off his feet in the heat of the moment.

Salem was moving too quick, barely registering the referee in his way as he and Cyrus clashed in the center of the ring! The collision left all three men on the mat, Salem clutching his collarbone while rolling to his side, using his other hand to plant an arm on the mat and support himself, trying to push best he could back to a vertical base as the fans were frantically on their feet!

Cyrus rolled away from the center of the ring towards the ropes after taking the clothesline. He grabbed hold of the bottom rope to try and get back to his feet as he slowly processed the hit.
From seemingly nowhere, the Mysterious Stranger appeared at ringside with chair in hand. Sliding into the ring, the hooded man went straight for Salem, aiming a shot straight to the mortal's back!

Salem was still staggered from the double impact earlier, not possessing enough faculties to sense or avoid Mirage's sneak attack with the referee down! Steel met spine, and Salem was laid out across the canvas in agony as fans jeered the masked man for his heinous act! "Oh, now what's this, King! Mister Mirage just snuck up on Salem with a chair! This was supposed to be a clean fight, Cyrus said! Was it all a lie?!"
"All's fair in love and war, J.R.! If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying!"

Back on his feet, Cyrus turned to see Mirage standing over Salem with a chair, the masked man creepily staring down at the Showtime. Enraged now, the Lion stumbled forward into a sprint.
The Mysterious Stranger turned towards the leader of Power, only to suddenly be blasted by a Last Roar, knocking masked man over the top rope and out of the ring, hitting the floor below.
Leaning against the ropes, King of Beasts stared down at his fallen comrade, still frustrated that one of his pride would interfere in his match.

Though it wasn't what they'd expected, the crowd popped with approval as Cyrus cleared his own teammate from the ring, Salem still laid out behind him while the referee was starting to stir off to the side! Cyrus was livid at the interference, it seemed, but the distraction provided an opening, Salem trying a last ditch effort through the fresh and intense pain to lift up enough that he could catch Cyrus in a roll-up, trying to capitalize on his lack of awareness after the cheap shot!

Caught by surprise, Cyrus was suddenly taken off his feet and his shoulders pinned against the canvas sudden roll-up! However, no count came as the referee was still out of it as he finally started to stir.
Waking in a daze the referee slapped his hand against the canvas.
1!
2-!
Cyrus suddenly rolled through, looking to reverse the pin!

He'd caught Cyrus by surprise, but Salem's back was still feeling the chair shot, his strength diminished as he tried to apply the pin! Thinking quickly, Cyrus managed to avoid the three count, revering the roll-up back onto Salem! His spine aching, Salem struggled to try and kick out, but his body couldn't cooperate enough to avoid it!
"One! Two! Three!" the referee counted, the bell ringing as the crowd booed not so much Cyrus, but the means by which he'd gotten his win! Some in the audience applauded the efforts of both men, but a veil of distaste clung heavy in the air around the arena!
"He did it, J.R.! Cyrus finally beat Salem, he got the monkey off his back!"
"Maybe, King, but I don't think Cyrus is proud of this! He wanted a fair fight and as much as these two have been rivals, I don't think he wanted it to end like this!"

Rolling onto his back after the three count, it wasn't until his music erupted over the PA that he fully realized what had happened. Struggling back onto his feet, the Lion walked over to the edge of ring, only to find that the Specter was no longer at ringside. The win had been ill gotten due to the interference, but it meant that Cyrus was heading to the King of the Canas finals. It was a bitter victory, and he reluctantly looked back towards Salem.

Salem had started back up to his feet, limping a step as he struggled to stand fully upright after the malicious chair shot! He was visibly frustrated, looking around ringside for Mirage as Cyrus' music played, his eyes eventually coming to focus on Leone and leveling an accusatory look at him!

Moving from the ropes, the Lion took a few steps towards Salem. He held his hands up at his side trying to speak over the music. "I'm sorry, I wanted it to be a clean match." He moved his hand forward, holding it out once again to offer up a handshake.

The crowd was deafening in their outrage, but Salem still could make out what Cyrus was trying to say, apologizing for what had transpired earlier and offering his hand out again! Walking up to Cyrus, "Showtime" would use a shoulder to bump past Leone on his way to the ropes, stepping out and to the floor as he walked back up the ramp, leaving Cyrus with an empty hand!
