“Oh?” Michael smiled, amused by Devyn’s sweet words, but definitely charmed by the kiss, no matter how it happened. “That’s because it’s my good side,” he joked, turning his head just slightly more so the scars across his cheek and jaw were visible.
He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to be doing like this. Other than enjoying Devyn’s company of course. But he was trying. And he appreciated that Devyn didn’t make a big deal about it. He might have tried pulling away if Devyn mentioned that he was making himself more vulnerable.
But… he liked being with Devyn. And even though he just snorted quietly in amusement, he had to agree that he did like how he fit in Devyn’s arms.
So at least for a little while, Michael took advantage of their closeness and pressed his face against Devyn’s neck and hoped that Devyn knew he didn’t want to be let go, either.

Devyn hummed thoughtfully, but it was with love and adoration. “All sides are your good side.”
He leaned forward so he could kiss Michael’s scarred cheek, too.
He didn’t need more than this. Anything Michael was happy with, he was happy with. If it was a slow journey to ease Michael into being comfortable with more, he could wait. He was persistent, and he was understanding, and he was patient.
Michael had been through enough, and Devyn couldn’t imagine trying to push him into being comfortable. Whatever was meant to be would be, and he’d be there to support Michael through all of it.
Ideally with a few less sore muscles, though.
