Devyn chuckled again, and whatever weight he’d been carrying earlier seemed to have melted significantly. But, Percy always had that effect on him. He leaned down to kiss Percy again, and took his time to brush the nonexistent grass and wrinkles from his outfit, and then to smooth his thumb gently across his cheek.

“That sounds wonderful, Love of my Lives.”

He couldn’t retire, not really. But maybe he could make enough of an impact that others could take over where he was working. People he trusted, people who would do the right thing, for the right reasons.

“Maybe some of our hundreds of children will go into politics and leadership, hmm? Make the world a better place.”

It was a nice dream. Silly, just an old joke, but Devyn had always wanted a large family.

Marius wasn’t his idea of a family, but. Maybe it was a start.

He’d see how he felt about him after they caught up a bit.
