Tathy pondered. It seemed like Saei had the best communication so far with the bird.

He looked at his golden eyed brother, "Do you think you can lead him out, now that the saddle is on?" They had the reins at least, that should help keep the beast where they wanted it.

He could tell this was going to be really really fun and he thanked his lucky stars that his brothers were not boring.

They'd distracted the raptor enough to slip even the reins about the beak. The leather sat far enough back that it didn't hurt, and bore reinforcements to allow for breathing holes around the top. It didn't do to suffocate your mount with its gear. And Huajiu was proving a sure hand with the straps. Comfortably snuggled up in a tight minute or two. And he'd only get better at it from here! There was only so much in the way of ruffled feathers to smooth, so they wouldn't have had too much time anyway. From what Saei knew of his observations, birds didn't enjoy most touching so much as tolerate it from things they were fond of. Preening being the exception.

Skittish as that beak made him, the pink-stoned brother kept his smile. Teeth sheathed, of course. Danger was part of the excitement! ...Once you were closer to the fun bits! His hand finally worked at the feathers about the chiavi's chest stone as the other took loose hold of the reins. "If you get the gates open, sure. Wonder if he'll try to fish?" With gentle tugs and looks towards the gate, he got the huge creature waddling towards the exit, trusting his brothers to clear the path.

He left the leading to Saei and the gate opening to Tathy. Instead he observed like usual. It was just what he did. It came naturally to him. It is what allowed him to know things and replicate them later on.

When the tugging and leading started he stayed put for a second or two before he decided to follow. Keeping a respectable distance so he didn't cause the avian and undue anxiety about being close to his tail feathers.

Tathy was of the opinion that it would be really fun to be riding their new mount while it went fishing. He wondered if when they were full grown if they would still all be able to ride one beast or would they have to diversify their mounts. He supposed if they all ended up as overinflated as Dad they would have to find separate mounts. But maybe if they stayed slim like their Mom they would be okay.

He was not thinking about the consequences of anyone falling off. Of potentially losing a brother in their folly. Nope, they would all hold on and be just fine, no matter what.

He got the gate open and was ready to make the leap when ready.

The creature followed in fits and starts, every inch a being more suited to soaring through the air than waddling on the ground. Saei's own waddle, coupled with gentle tensions on the lead, convinced the Chiavi to follow without compulsion. His grandfather's voice seemed to sound around him, the calluses of those heavy hands on his own. "Don't tug, Innsaei. That's just gonna make 'em stubborn, or worse, make 'em mad. Suggest a direction, don't pull 'em." With how much bigger their new friend was, the golden boy had no issue with this approach whatsoever.

While they neared the open ground, the leading brother's thoughts wandered free of his body's tasks, which nearly happened on their own. Saei knew some birds went fishing. But what kind of fish lived in Zena? Ice fishing was a thing, Auntie 'Kina had said. But you had to chop into that. Birds weren't too good at chopping. The snow was supposed to be thick enough to tunnel through. That was like softer ice, right? And water was what you called soft ice. Snow... fish? Nah.

With the stable escaped, the boy holding the reins stopped, facing the Chiavi and starting towards the saddle. The wings were still folded, and only fluttered slightly as the smaller creature passed, began looking over the saddle. "Right here's good. Up we get!" The stirrups suggested how to climb, and the gold-eyed boy set his foot to it, the rest of his body following...

He thought of the risks but was confidant that if he told his brothers something then they would listen. After all, it was rare that he did speak so when they heard his voice they were usually glued.

When the avian was led out and it was time to mount, Jiu made sure he was the last one on. So Tathy and Saei got on first. Intuition would lead them, thought would give them direction and memory would keep them safe. It was just how things usually worked, though occasionally Intuition and Thought were switched.

Tathy got on the bird next and then waited for Jiu to mount. He only knew that this was going to be epic. The chiavi gave a small excited hop at the prospect of exercise and an open sky. Being in a cage could be pretty boring and it was due for a good wing stretching. It politely waited for the last rider though, manners first so it had been trained. Plus the younglings were kind of cute, foolish of the parents for letting chicks this size wander about and get into stuff but the chiavi would protect them so long as they could hold on.

Saei mounted up, careful not to tug the reins as he climbed. This saddle wasn't built for thre, but being smaller than a large earthling by some degrees, they managed. The straps were a bit tricky, and the triplets wound up skipping one of their number to tie the other two every so often. They'd been designed for grownups rather than three boys. The lead brother usually picked the one at random, so everybody still got firmly attached. They looked ridiculous, though.

The trio really couldn't quantify their good luck here even if they'd been aware of it. They'd picked a chiavi that had tended clutches of its own, and decided on this fool course outside of mating season. That had been well and thoroughly trained. That it had all but accepted this place, their home, as its nest was another benefit. Otherwise, benevolence towards fool chicks or no, a creature with that wingspan might well have taken its young riders to its homeland of Zena. It waited patiently for the reins to twitch correctly, occasionally waddling to one side to see something. When it came (purely by accident), the chiavi spread its huge wings and began to move forward, picking up some speed for takeoff...
