"I think that lady liked us. Oh wait....should I have practiced our secret skills on her? Oh but she was so nice that would have been rude," Eziya rambled once they had gotten a safe distance, tucking the wrapped items into her pack. She paused with her hand on one pack, offering it back to Serr. "Do you want? Or hm....maybe we share this one. I am still pretty hungry," she chuckled, sticking some of the snack into her mouth before holding up some to Serr's mouth. "You waaaaant?" she teased, poking at his side as she laughed more.

"I agree. Secret skills are for different sorts. Maybe she thought we would be good advertisers," he said, letting that conclusion sit and eventually finding it amusing. While he knew that Eziya was infinitely charming, he had only recently begun to realize what an oddly imposing presence he was beside her. Serr smiled, quickly leaning forward to peck the food from between her fingers like some odd new species of bird. He slid an arm around her, briefly tickling her ribs. "I don't know why, but having fun away from home makes me miss home." It was like he owed something to the trees and dirt that knew him best. He couldn't explain it.

Eziya huffed out a laugh, squirming at the ticklish feeling against her side. "Yes. It makes me wonder how Fiia and Thess are doing. If they're getting into trouble or not. Maybe once we spend some time here we can make our way down to check in? See how everyone is doing?" Eziya suggested, pulling out the coin as they walked to practice her 'secret skills'. She pressed the coin into her hand more, ignoring the road the more effort she put into the task. "Do you think Thess is good at this like you are?"

"Never as good as me," Serr replied, laughing a little to himself soon after. Thess was as close to a brother as he would ever have, and even though Serr wasn't the most competitive of people on a normal day, he would always have a sassy word for when their skills were compared. "I'm sure he would be very good at it though. I've only started to pick up more magic stuff recently and we don't train together as much as we used to." He tilted his head at the sight of a handful of very stout buildings in the distance. "I would really like to check in though."

Eziya looked over at the buildings Serr stared at, chewing on her lip as she considered their options. She did like traveling, but she was equally content to settle somewhere. There were things she still wanted to do after all, things that required a more stable existence than being on the road. While their adventures were fun, it would be nice to go visit their little makeshift family unit. "Well, why don't we visit and explore the area for a few days, or a little longer depending on what we fine. Once we're content with the area we could go back to Fiia and Thess. Check in on them and maybe consider where we'd like to stay. Unless the road is a forever calling. Whatever you want Serr, I'm happy for it. Traveling or stationary, as long as you're there I'm pleased."

Serr had a feeling he would sound childish, which was the only reason he didn't reply right away. Normally he wouldn't have cared, but this was the first time he had been struck by how annoying his swiftly shifting moods probably were for others. Especially for Eziya. He had been a little too excited about coming up here and seeing more of the world for himself, but now that they were here, he kind of wanted to turn around. But Eziya was right. They had spoken of exploring and sightseeing, and they hadn't even seen the sailscales yet. They were almost to the first of the buildings before he spoke again. "A few days would be nice. And maybe we can go back on a different path than the one we came in on. I think I might prefer the road to be mysterious, but I'm glad we can see some of it together." He paused, twisting side-to-side as he stretched. "Let's find some more food. And maybe some kids to impress with your new skills."

"If the road is mysterious it just means we're always surprised. I wouldn't have it any other way when it came to us. Always out for an adventure," Eziya laughed, wrapping her arm around his middle in his mid-stretch movements. She wandered in comfortable silence with him towards the initial building, taking in the eatery with tiny tables settled out a ways from the building. The people were somewhat scarce, a couple of kids huddled around one table playing a game of their own making. It was nice. "I'm happy to spend my time with you."

Yeah. "Yeah!" Always out for an adventure. If nothing else, he was glad they would see Iory. Even if there was hardly anything to see here at all. "Same. I'm happy too." Serr pat at her arm and looked around, taking in everyone who was nearby before saying, "Love you, Eziya," and kissing her temple. He paused with all the awkwardness that came with everything except sneaking and stealing, then straightened up and took a deep breath. "Look. Food and kids." He chuckled.

Eziya flushed at the words, still shy about hearing them from him despite their years together. She knew the love was there of course, they just tended to show it through acts over words. At least in her mind she thought so. "Love you too. Always," she agreed, pressing her own kiss to his shoulder as she looked over the area once more. "I bet the kids would know where all the best sailscales are hiding. Kids are smart like that, you know?"Smerdle Did you wanna end after your post? surprised

He watched the kids for half a minute more in silence, then said, "They are." He hadn't ever had anything better to do than watch and learn as a child. When had he stopped doing that? He had literally known everything there was to know. "You're smart." Serr grinned. "But yes, we should ask." He rested his arm around her waist. "Let's go."
